by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(3/6/2015) Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has reached agreement on a new contract and is returning to the team, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, citing an unnamed source.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Lynch signed the contract extension, through 2017, on Friday night and will get $24 million over two years.

Lynch's agent, Doug Hendrickson, confirmed the signing, saying that the deal came after a long meeting between Hendrickson, owner Paul Allen, GM John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll. He added that he didn't anticipate needed to renegotiate following this season, assuming Lynch chooses to continue playing.

CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reported that the Seahawks and Lynch had agreed on a new deal nearly two weeks ago.
