With the loss of linebacker David Hawthorne to the Saints, it appeared Barrett Ruud was being penciled in this offseason as the starting middle linebacker. However, coach Pete Carroll said Ruud is fighting through his recovery from groin, knee and shoulder issues. "He's coming back from all of that," Carroll said. The Seahawks agreed to terms Monday with longtime cornerback Marcus Trufant on a one-year deal. His time in Seattle appeared over when he was released by the team with two years left on his contract on March 7. He missed significant time the last three seasons with injuries (a back issue cost him much of 2011) and had his productivity slip, leading to his release. (Updated 04/10/2012)
