Tommie Draheim
News
The Chiefs announced Tuesday they released offensive lineman Tommie Draheim from the practice squad.
Jake Ballard
News
Cardinals tight end Jake Ballard was unable to practice Sunday because of a thigh bruise, ESPN reports. The injury is not expected to keep him sidelined for too long, as he is expected to return on Monday, head coach Bruce Arians told reporters.
Daryl Washington
News
Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington has been suspended for the entire 2014 season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He was suspended four games last season for violating the same policy.

"It's completely unacceptable that Daryl has once again put us in this position," Cards general manager Steve Keim said in a statement. "We all know what the consequences are and will deal with them. From a personal standpoint, our hope is that this suspension will give Daryl the opportunity to accept the necessary help and guidance to get his life back on track and we will certainly support him however we can."

Washington had 134 total tackles and nine sacks in 2012 and 75 total hits and three sacks in 12 games last season.

Andre Hardy
News
The Cardinals signed tight ends Brett Brackett and Andre Hardy and guard Christian Johnson to reserve/futures contracts.
Kevin Minter
News
After playing only one snap as a rookie in 2013, Cardinals linebacker Kevin Minter not only lined up with the first-team defense at OTAs but made all the defensive calls according to 910 AM FOX Sports in Phoenix. Minter is expected to fill the middle of the defense for Arizona this season.
Dave Zastudil

Ted Larsen
News
The addition of Jared Veldheer and the return of left guard Jonathan Cooper should make life easier for the Cardinals when they game plan versus opponents this season. Offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin admits that the right side of the line will involve a competition but overall he anticipates a huge jump in efficiency for the front five

" ... [T]he world knows we're looking to put the right side together. There is going to be great competition between Paul Fanaika and Ted Larsen and Earl (Watford)," Goodwin told the Arizona Republic. "Then you have Bobby (Massie), Bradley (Sowell) and along with Nate (Potter). The competition is going to be great and there is still the possibility of the draft, but who knows? It wasn't a great offensive line year last year, but the guys played consistently together and they got better as they went along."

Tony Jefferson
News
Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby, safety Yeremiah Bell and linebacker Dontay Moch were some of the standout players for the defense during a 13-10 win Week 4 at Tampa Bay.

Dansby had a team-high nine tackles -- all solo. Bell totaled seven tackles (four solo, two for loss) and one sack. Moch had two solo tackles, one sack and two quarterback hits.

Other Cardinals defenders who made an impact Sunday were defensive back Tony Jefferson (seven tackles), linebacker Jasper Brinkley (seven tackles) and safety Tyrann Mathieu (six tackles).

Stepfan Taylor
News
Cardinals second-year running back Stepfan Taylor says he prepared every week last season as if he were the starter, even though he wasn't. But with Rashard Mendenhall retiring, ESPN says to "watch" for Taylor to take over the power rushing role with the Cardinals in tandem with Andre Ellington.

But that's assuming the Cardinals don't draft another back. They've already signed Jonathan Dwyer this offseason and Ryan Williams is still on the roster.

"Like I said, I prepare to be the starter," Taylor said. "Whatever they do, I just got to be prepared."

Taylor could be in the neighborhood of eight touches per game when Ellington is healthy, much more if Ellington misses playing time. He could also work as the goal-line back. You'll see him drafted late in Fantasy leagues.

Brittan Golden
News
The Cardinals received several offensive contributions from a few role players during Sunday's loss to the 49ers in Week 17.

Tight Rob Housler led the way with five grabs for 78 yards on six targets. Stepfan Taylor rushed for seven yards on two carries and had one reception for 7 yards. Jim Dray caught one pass for a gain of 18 yards. Jaron Brown and Brittan Golden were each targeted once but held without a grab in a 23-20 defeat.

Tyrann Mathieu
News
Cardinals assistant athletic trainer Chad Cook said defensive back Tyrann Mathieu is "close" to resuming football activities as he works his way back from a torn ACL and LCL suffered in December.

Mathieu says he's at "60, 70 percent" running according to a video he's featured in on the team's official website. He's lifting weights as normal and has begun to do some cutting in his rehab but still seems like a longshot to participate in team drills come training camp.

Ernie Sims
News
The Cardinals signed free agent linebacker Ernie Sims, who made 42 tackles in 12 games last year with the Cowboys. Arizona inked Sims to a one-year deal in the wake of Daryl Washington's one-year suspension.

The 29-year-old Sims was drafted ninth overall by the Lions in 2006.

John Estes
News
The Cardinals released tight end Brett Brackett, center John Estes and linebacker Kenny Rowe.
Matt Shaughnessy
News
Free agent linebacker Matt Shaughnessy will return to the Cardinals, after spending the 2013 season there. He has agreed to a two-year contract with the Cardinals, according to The Arizona Republic, just one day into free agency.

Shaughnessy put together a solid first season in Arizona, starting 12 of 16 games. He had 36 tackles and three sacks, while forcing one fumble, his first in three seasons.

Carson Palmer
News
Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is pleased with how the offense looks heading into training camp, reports ESPN.

"I'm extremely happy with where we are," Palmer said. "We have a long way to go. I couldn't be happier to see the growth from the film we watched this offseason of us playing in games, and to see where we are now and to see the future's bright because you see mistakes made and you see the potential of the scheme, the potential of these plays."

Rob Housler
News
Tight end Rob Housler is currently No. 4 on the depth chart with the Cardinals, behind John Carlson, Jake Ballard and rookie Troy Niklas, reports ESPN.com. Housler is "just not the type of tight end head coach Bruce Arians prefers," the website said.

Housler is entering the final year of his contract. He caught 39 passes for 454 yards and a touchdown last season.

Antonio Cromartie
News
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians told reporters that cornerback Antonio Cromartie will miss 4-5 days with a pectoral injury. Cromartie is expected to start opposite Patrick Peterson this season.

Jonathan Dwyer
News
Andre Ellington is pretty much locked into the Cardinals' starting running back job heading into training camp, but he won't hog all of the carries. Cards coach Bruce Arians told ESPN that backups Jonathan Dwyer and Robert Hughes have each been a pleasant surprise so far this offseason

"(Dwyer) is in better shape and he's running routes and catching the ball better than I remember," Arians said. "I know he'll pound you and can really run the football. I know he can pass block. But he caught the ball extremely well. He made some catches in the red zone for us. That was a surprise."

As for Hughes, the former Colts backup rusher, Arians called him "outstanding," citing his toughness, mentality and skill set as strengths. Not only is he a load on his feet but he can also run good routes and catch passes.

Both have a chance to make the Cardinals final roster.

Kareem Martin
News
The Cardinals and defensive tackle Kareem Martin have agreed to terms, a source told ESPN. Martin was the team's third-round pick.

Out of North Carolina, Martin provides excellent size at 6-foot-6 and 272 pounds while sporting a 4.68 in the 40-yard dash. After totaling 11 sacks as a senior, Martin figures to work as a hybrid defender and pass rusher with the Cardinals this season. He's already been working on that dual DL-LB role according to FOX Sports 910 in Arizona.

Orhian Johnson
News
The Cardinals signed safety Orhian Johnson, an undrafted rookie out of Ohio State, to their practice squad.
JoJo Dickson
News
The Cardinals have signed linebacker JoJo Dickson to a reserve-future deal. Dickson spent time on the Arizona roster this season and with the Jets in 2012, but has yet to record any statistics.
Ryan Lindley
News
Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley could be looking for a job soon. Arizona is set with Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton as its top two quarterbacks, and the team drafted high-ceilinged project Logan Thomas in the fourth round, notes the team's website.

"It helps when Logan is such a good kid," Lindley said. "If he came in here and was cocky and was kind of a jerk … but he’s such a good guy, I just want to help where I can. I just have to put my best foot forward. Regardless, you put yourself on tape, whether it is practice or preseason, and if it is my time, it’s my time.

"There is a time everyone gets tapped on the shoulder."

Ted Ginn
News
Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin believes that the addition of receiver Ted Ginn will only help the prospects for Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd to have big seasons in 2014

"[I]t's going to help the overall passing game a lot from a play-action standpoint and a drop-back standpoint," Goodwin said of Ginn's arrival per the Arizona Republic. "It's going to help Larry (Fitzgerald) and Michael (Floyd)."

The thinking is that Ginn will attract enough coverage to keep extra defenders from playing tight on Fitzgerald and Floyd. Without a third receiver boasting speed like Ginn, Fitzgerald had 954 yards and 10 touchdowns while Floyd posted 1,041 yards and five touchdowns.

Earl Watford
News
With the Cardinals' release of Daryn Colledge, second-year pro Earl Watford could start at right guard, according to the team's website. He did not play a snap as a rookie.

“From a physical aspect, he’s probably one of the better guys we’ve got, just as a total athlete from top to bottom,” offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin said. “We’ve got these evaluation sheets for kids coming out now, and he is always going to read out pretty well. I don’t worry about the physical tools on him at all. In pass protection he’s solid. If he gets his hands on guys, he’s solid.

“It’s all mental for Earl," Goodwin added. "He’s coming along. He’s just got to pick it up some. He’s got to. It’s the NFL. It stands for Not For Long. For Earl, (this season) is big. To me, in my mind, it’s make-or-break from the standpoint of, you’ve got talent, but now it’s about trying to take the next step. And once again, if you can’t do it, we’ve got to go to the next guy.

“Talent is not the issue. It’s maintaining the information he’s learned. When he started here, there was some regurgitation. If we have to start all over again from ground zero, it’s not good.”

Walt Powell
News
The Cardinals signed three draft picks to four-year contracts: fourth-round quarterback Logan Thomas (Virginia Tech), fifth-round defensive lineman Ed Stinson (Alabama) and sixth-round receiver Walt Powell (Murray State).

Included are defensive tackles Zach Clayton and DaJohn Harris, safety Al Afalava, tackle Daniel Baldridge, tight end Brandon Barden (injured), linebacker Gary Guyton, defensive end Nigel Nicholas, running back Jalen Parmele, guard Kasey Studdard and wide receiver Dontel Watkins.

Guyton and Studdard boast some experience. The former was a part-time starter for Green Bay from 2009 to 2011 while the latter played extensively with Houston in 2009.

The Titans will make more cuts on Saturday.

Nate Potter
News
The Cardinals have ruled quarterback Ryan Lindley, safety Curtis Taylor, running back Ryan Williams, linebacker Dontay Moch, offensive lineman Nate Potter, tight end Kory Sperry and defensive end Ronald Talley inactive for Week 17 against San Francisco.

Jonathan Cooper
News
Cardinals left guard Jonathan Cooper, the team's 2013 first-round pick, still is not fully recovered from the broken leg he suffered last preseason, reports Fox Sports.

"Coop's still got a ways to go," coach Bruce Arians said. "He's not the athlete he was last year at this time but I wouldn't expect him to be. It's just a matter of getting his strength back and his confidence and his balance."

Kenny Demens
News
The Cardinals re-signed linebacker Kenny Demens to the practice squad and released linebacker Zack Nash from the squad. Demens is an undrafted rookie out of Michigan.

Darren Fells
News

News
The Cardinals re-signed cornerback Bryan McCann. He played in six games last season, primarily on special teams.
Drew Stanton
News
With the 120th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals selected quarterback Logan Thomas from Virginia Tech.

Thomas, the sixth quarterback taken in the draft, looked sharp at the Senior Bowl, which helped his draft stock. Standing at 6-foot-6, 248 pounds, Thomas passed for 2,907 yards with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2013. He also rushed for 344 yards with four touchdowns.

Thomas will likely compete with Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley on the depth chart, behind veteran Carson Palmer.

Logan Thomas
News
Cardinals rookie quarterback Logan Thomas showed off his big arm during rookie minicamp workouts this week, the official team website reported

Head coach Bruce Arians said Thomas still needs to get his footwork proper when he drops back.

"When he knows what he is doing, and the guys around him know what he is doing, he's pretty good," Arians said.

With an outstanding summer of work, Thomas could end up backing up Carson Palmer this season.

Rashad Johnson
News
The Cardinals have ruled the following players as active for Sunday's season finale against the 49ers in Week 17: John Abraham (groin), Darnell Dockett (shoulder), Rob Housler (groin), Rashad Johnson (ankle), Rashard Mendenhall (finger), Carson Palmer (ankle, right elbow), Matt Shaughnessy (groin), Drew Stanton (knee) and Daryl Washington (ankle).
Calais Campbell
News
Cardinals linebacker Marcus Benard and defensive end Calais Campbell teamed up on a sack in Week 13; each finished with a half sack.

Benard now has 1.5 sacks on the season, while Campbell has six.

The Cardinals face the Rams in Week 14.

Keenan Clayton
News
The Cardinals signed linebacker Keenan Clayton and safety Anthony Walters. Clayton has played in 36 games for the Eagles and Raiders, while Walters made 10 special teams tackles for the Bears last year.
Michael Floyd
News
Michael Floyd was one of several Cardinals players singled out for having a solid spring by the Arizona Republic. Per the paper, Floyd knew where to line up and "caught nearly everything thrown his way." The paper even seemed to suggest Floyd as a terrific pick for Fantasy Football.

Floyd led the Cardinals with 1,041 yards on just 65 catches last season -- 17 fewer grabs than Larry Fitzgerald.

Ed Stinson

Paul Fanaika

The addition of Jared Veldheer and the return of left guard Jonathan Cooper should make life easier for the Cardinals when they game plan versus opponents this season. Offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin admits that the right side of the line will involve a competition but overall he anticipates a huge jump in efficiency for the front five
