Nigel Carr No Updates Chavis Williams News The Ravens signed K Shayne Graham on Wednesday to potentially fill in for K Billy Cundiff, who's nursing a left calf injury. Graham participated in Baltimore's training camp in 2010 but lost the battle to Cundiff. To make room, the Ravens placed LB Chavis Williams (foot) on injured reserve. Injury Foot - IR. Out for the season Maake Kemoeatu News The Ravens and nose tackle Ma'ake Kemoeatu agreed to a one-year deal. Kemoeatu, 33, began his career with the Ravens but did not play in the NFL last season due to Achilles' and knee injuries. "Maake will be given an opportunity to make our 53-man roster, and if he does, he will provide added depth on our D-line and help our ability to stop the run," general manager Ozzie Newsome said Wednesday according to The Sports Xchange. Ryan McBean News Baltimore signed former Broncos defensive tackle Ryan McBean on Monday, the team announced. McBean left the Broncos as a restricted free agent after Denver rescinded a free agent tender offer. The move adds depth to a defensive line unit that saw Cory Redding (Colts) and Brandon McKinney (Colts) leave this offseason. McBean will have his six-game suspension reduced to three, according to the Carroll County Times. McBean tested positive for PEDs, which resulted in McBean suing the NFL for not taking the proper testing steps (McBean has since dropped the suit). McBean will be eligible to play against Cleveland in Week 4. Injury Suspension - Eligible to return Week 4 vs. Cleveland Asa Jackson News In addition to drafting outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw, the Ravens spent three other picks on their defense in the draft. They took South Carolina State safety Christian Thompson, Cal Poly cornerback Asa Jackson and Georgia defensive tackle DeAngelo Tyson. Thompson is a former Auburn defensive back with good coverage ability and some long-term potential. Jackson is a speedy cornerback who plays tougher than his size suggests but needs some experience. Tyson is a big body expected to eventually help cram the run. Sergio Kindle News After recovering from a fractured skull two summers ago, Ravens outside linebacker Sergio Kindle is hoping to earn some playing time in 2012. Kindle is still coping with hearing loss in his left ear following a fall down a flight of stairs in 2010. This has made it tough for him to hear calls, and he's yet to deal with crowd noise. Kindle conceded 2012 could be a "make or break year." Omar Brown No Updates Arthur Jones News Ravens rookie DT Arthur Jones has agreed to a three-year deal that will ensure that he will be a part of the team come training camp. Anquan Boldin News Baltimore WR Anquan Boldin had a big game on Sunday in the AFC Championship game at New England. Unfortunately, it wasn't big enough as the Ravens lost with the Patriots headed to the Super Bowl. Boldin caught six passes for 101 yards and had a long catch of 37 yards. He did not score in the game and was targeted by QB Joe Flacco eight times to lead the team. His season is officially over. Tommy Streeter News The Baltimore Ravens selected Miami wide receiver Tommy Streeter with a sixth-round pick in the NFL draft. Streeter is a 6-foot-5, 220-pounder who had 46 catches and scored eight touchdowns for the Hurricanes last season. He left after three years at Miami, the first two of which he saw very little action. Ray Rice News According to ESPN, Ravens running back Ray Rice is looking for a contract in the neighborhood of Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson's contracts -- roughly $30 million guaranteed. Per the network, a Ravens source says such a deal isn't going to happen. That could mean that Rice will continue his holdout until training camp. Bruce Figgins No Updates Paul Kruger News Baltimore DL Paul Kruger had two sacks and two tackles during the Ravens' 30-27 victory over Arizona in Week 8. Kruger now has three sacks over his past two games and has already surpassed his career high established during the 2010 campaign. Davon Drew News The Ravens have released LB Prescott Burgess and TE Davon Drew. Burgess, a special teams standout, saw his stock take a blow with the new kickoff rule. Drew looks to have been beaten out by TE Kris Wilson, who was signed during training camp. Bryant McKinnie No Updates Justin Boren No Updates Cary Williams News Ravens DB Cary Williams suffered a concussion Week 16 against the Browns. He had three tackles (one solo) before leaving the game in the first half. James Hardy News More notable cuts from the Ravens Saturday: LB Josh Bynes, QB Hunter Cantwell, DT Lamar Divens, LB Tavares Goodman, DB Danny Gorrer, DT Bryan Hall, WR James Hardy, CB Talmadge Jackson, FB Ryan Mahaffey, TE Johdrick Morris, DB Mana Silva, DT Derek Simmons, WR Marucs Smith, CB Josh Victorian, LB Chavis Williams and DB Nate Williams. Injury Danny Gorrer News Baltimore waived LB Jason Phillips on Saturday. The team signed DB Danny Gorrer from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Addison Lawrence No Updates Tandon Doss News WR Lee Evans (ankle) will not play Sunday against St. Louis, the team announced. Evans has not practiced this week. With Evans out, that leaves four WRs available: Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, LaQuan Williams and Tandon Doss. Charles Brown No Updates Curtis Painter News The Ravens official team website reports that Tyrod Taylor is Joe Flaccos backup. The signing of Curtis Painter hasnt changed that. Tyrod is our No. 2 quarterback; I want to make that very clear, Harbaugh said on a local radio interview. Everybody competes for their job, theres no doubt about it, we believe in that, we always will, but hes our No. 2 quarterback. Hes entrenched as our No. 2 quarterback. Harbaugh said that Painter is currently the No. 3 quarterback, and that the team may opt to continue to have a third arm on the roster throughout the season, whether that position is given to Painter or someone else. In the end, we would rather have three than two, Harbaugh said. I think people were concerned about that last year. Joe has been extremely durable, but knock on wood, if something would happen or if something would happen to Tyrod. We need another quarterback right now for the offseason too. Thats why we did it right now. We have to have the extra arm right now to throw to our guys. Dorian Graham No Updates Joe Flacco News In the wake of the injury to pass rusher Terrell Suggs, the Ravens offense might have to shoulder more of the load this year to help the team win. That sounds great to quarterback Joe Flacco, who told the official team website that he's fine with being responsible for putting more points on the board. "I want us to get in more of a mindset where we have to score points, Flacco said. "I think we've got the talent around us, definitely. I think we need to go out there and we need to make our minds up that we're going to do that. I think we're a team that should be able to go out there and put 40 up and not really look back." Cecil Newton No Updates Tyrod Taylor News The Ravens official team website reports that Tyrod Taylor is Joe Flaccos backup. Terrence Cody News Ravens DL Terrence Cody suffered a concussion Week 2 against the Titans. He had two solo tackles before leaving the game. Matt Balasavage No Updates Ed Dickson News The Ravens official team website reports that Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta more than filled the shoes of departed longtime TE Todd Heap. In their first season splitting the workload, they combined to catch 94 passes for 933 yards and eight touchdowns. Those are better numbers than any of Heaps 10 seasons in Baltimore in all three categories. Now Ravens Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron only sees more production ahead out of his two young tight ends. Those two are right on track in their development and we expect big years out of both of them next year, Cameron said. Jack Cornell No Updates Ishmaa'ily Kitchen No Updates Terrell Suggs News Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs had surgery repair a torn Achilles tendon Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery. The Ravens didn't indicate whether Suggs will be able to play this fall, or if it was a full tear or partial tear (Suggs indicated previously that it was a partial tear). The Ravens are expected to line up second-round pick Courtney Upshaw at Suggs' rush linebacker spot and have Paul Kruger take over at strongside linebacker, Jarret Johnson's former position. "Terrell had a successful surgical procedure done on his Achilles tendon this afternoon by Dr. Bob Anderson," general manager Ozzie Newsome said in a statement. "After some recovery time, Sizzle' will begin the process of rehabbing the area. We know he will work hard to get back on the field with his teammates as soon as the doctors and trainers allow. We're confident that he can make a full recovery." Injury Achilles' - Out for start of regular season Cody Glenn News The Indianapolis Star reports that the Colts trimmed their roster on Sunday on the way to getting to the final 53. Among the cuts were RB Devin Moore, S Chip Vaughn and QB Mike Hartline. The team also waived/injured LB Cody Glenn and S Mike Newton. Torrey Smith News After having double hernia surgery this offseason, Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith told the Baltimore Sun that he'll be ready for the start of training camp this summer. He's been dunking in charity basketball games and believes he'll have no restrictions when the team gets together in late July. As he told CBSSports.com in April, Smith is preaching consistency as a key to long-term success. "The biggest thing that helped my game is being consistent," said Smith. "I've got a lot of growing to do. This is going to be my fifth season playing receiver now, so I'm still learning each and every day. For me in order to take the next step, it's just being consistent, making the simple plays and just being consistent in my technique, being consistent catching the ball, everything. ... [T]o see the progress I was able to make in 20 weeks, I can only imagine what it's going to be like this offseason because I came right out there and I looked better than I did all of last year and I had surgery." Injury Hernia - Probable for start of training camp Bernard Pollard News The Ravens signed veteran strong safety Bernard Pollard to a three-year contract extension. In his first season in Baltimore last year, Pollard had 75 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception. "Bernard showed last year that he is a Raven," Newsome said. "He's smart, tough and brings a passion to the games, our practices and in the weight room. His physical presence on the back end is very important to the way we play defense. He has indicated since the first day he stepped into our building last training camp that he wanted to be a Raven for the long haul." Ed Reed News Ravens coach John Harbaugh says he expects safety Ed Reed to return the team and play in 2012. "Ed is a guy that I really trust and really care about," Harbaugh said. "I believe in him. There's been no indication that he's not going to play this year as far as I'm concerned. I don't worry about Ed. Ed's a mature guy. He's a superstar. He's a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He's a leader. Ed will be here. We're counting on Ed being here." Michael Oher No Updates Devin Goda No Updates Lardarius Webb News The Ravens have agreed to a five-year, $50 million contract extension with cornerback Lardarius Webb. The deal announced Thursday includes a $10 million signing bonus and a $5 million option bonus. Webb intercepted a career-high five passes in the regular season, and broke a team record with three interceptions in the playoffs. He had a career-high 68 tackles and 20 pass deflections and emerged as one of the NFL's top young cornerbacks. Haloti Ngata News Ravens DL Haloti Ngata totaled four tackles (two solo) in Week 16 against the Browns. He now has 60 tackles in 15 games. Matt Birk No Updates Courtney Upshaw News The Ravens chose Alabama outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw with an early pick (35th overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft. Little did they know how badly they would need him -- less than a week after the pick was made, Ravens star pass rusher Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles' tendon and will miss the entire season. The Ravens will now have to count on the 6-foot-2, 272-pound Upshaw to make some plays in Suggs' place instead of work alongside him. Upshaw had 9 1/2 sacks last year for the NCAA national champions, as well as 11 quarterback pressures and two forced fumbles. "He plays like a junkyard dog," Ravens director of personnel Eric DeCosta said. "He's a physical, violent football player. A lot of guys can rush the passer, a lot of guys can drop and play in space, but setting the edge is really one of the most important things at this position, and we feel this guy can do that." Chester Stewart No Updates Ricky Williams News RB Ricky Williams announced Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL. Williams, 34, recently completed his 11th NFL season and first with the Ravens. He appeared in 147 career games (83 starts), posting 2,431 carries for 10,009 rushing yards and 66 touchdowns. The 5-10, 230-pounder added 342 receptions for 2,606 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his career. Williams amassed five 1,000-yard rushing seasons. The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life, Williams said. I pray that all successive adventures offer me the same potential for growth, success and most importantly, fun. I want to thank all my fans, teammates, coaches and supporters for the strength they've given me to overcome so much." Ray Lewis News Baltimore LB Ray Lewis said he has no plans to retire following the Ravens' loss to New England in the AFC Championship game on Sunday. Lewis, 36, recorded 96 tackles and two sacks during his 16th NFL season. "Is this my last time as a Raven? Absolutely not," Lewis told the Carrol County Times on Sunday. "Let me answer that question before somebody asks me. Absolutely not. It's just too much, man." Emanuel Cook News Baltimore claimed DB Emanuel Cook off waivers Tuesday and released LB Josh Bynes. Cook, previously with the Jets, has played in eight games this season and tallied three tackles. Bynes was signed to the 53-man roster last week after spending time on Baltimore's practice squad. Now Ravens Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron only sees more production ahead out of his two young tight ends. Those two are right on track in their development and we expect big years out of both of them next year, Cameron said. Morgan Cox News The Ravens might need a new long snapper after the Week 16 win over the Browns. Long snapper Morgan Cox may have suffered "serious" knee damage in the game, according to the team's official site. Cox will have an MRI exam to see how severe his injury is. He hurt the knee early in the game but kept playing. LaQuan Williams News Ravens WR LaQuan Williams caught two passes for 28 yards in Week 9 against the Steelers. He was targeted three times by QB Joe Flacco in Baltimore's 23-20. Rodney Bradley No Updates Jimmy Smith News Ravens DB Jimmy Smith totaled seven solo tackles in Week 16 against the Browns. Cundiff went 2 for 3 on field goals in the game and added two extra points. His 39-yard field goal late in the third quarter gave Baltimore a 20-16 lead at the time. Unfortunately, Cundiff missed a 32-yard FG attempt with seconds left to play, giving the Patriots a 23-20 victory. Nicolas Jean-Baptiste No Updates Jamison Berryhill No Updates Chykie Brown News The Ravens spent a pair of fifth-round picks on Texas CB Chykie Brown and Mississippi State DE Pernell McPhee. Brown, who missed four games in the 2010 season with a broken forearm, had two career interceptions with the Longhorns. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound McPhee started in all 25 games at MSU.
