Darian Stewart
News
With the No. 79 pick in the NFL Draft, the Ravens selected safety Terrence Brooks from Florida State.

This is the second year in a row the Ravens have addressed safety in the draft when they selected Matt Elam in the first round in 2013. Brooks should challenge Darian Stewart for the starting job at free safety this season.

He started 13 games for the Seminoles in 2013 and posted a stat line of 56-5-2 with eight tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles.

Jeromy Miles

News
Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith led the way Week 2 against the Steelers.

Smith led the team in receptions, targets and yards. Smith finished with six catches for 71 yards. He emerged as Joe Flacco's go to target during the contest. On top of that, Smith drew two facemask penalties and an unnecessary roughness flag, helping his team gain additional yards.

Smith will take on the Browns Week 3.

Joe Flacco
News
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco tossed two touchdowns Week 2 against the Steelers.

Flacco completed 21 of 29 passes for 166 yards. He did not throw any interceptions during the contest. Flacco didn't have to do much during the contest. While he was efficient, he didn't air out the ball all that much. His longest pass play went for 24 yards. Both Flacco's touchdowns came from short distances. He found Owen Daniels on a 2 yard touchdown in the first quarter, and added a 1 yard touchdown to Daniels again in the third.

Flacco will take on the Browns Week 3.

Tyrod Taylor
News
The Ravens drafted Keith Wenning in the sixth round to vie with Tyrod Taylor for the backup job behind quarterback Joe Flacco. But in minicamps, Wenning did not appear ready to challenge Taylor, reports the Baltimore Sun.

The paper expects Wenning to serve as the No. 3 quarterback this season while Taylor finishes out his rookie contract.

Terrence Cody
News
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh indicated that defensive tackle Terrence Cody (hip) will not return from the Physically Unable to Perform list at least for another few weeks, per ESPN.

"I'd say no. He's going to rehab the hip for a while," Harbaugh said.

Timmy Jernigan
News
With the No. 48 pick in the NFL Draft, the Ravens selected defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan from Florida State.

Jernigan is 6-foot-2, 299 pounds. He had 4.5 sacks for the Seminoles in 2013 and played well as a run-stuffer.

He has the chance to provide depth for the Ravens defense and the Ravens DST along their defensive line.

Christo Bilukidi
News
The Ravens have listed CB Lardarius Webb, WR Michael Campanaro, WR Deonte Thompson, OL John Urschel, OL Jah Reid, DT Christo Bilukidi and LB Arthur Brown as inactive Week 2 against the Steelers.

Webb entered the game questionable due to a back injury. This is the second straight game Webb has missed due to the issue.

Terrell Suggs
News
Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was mostly quiet in Week 1 against the Bengals, a 23-16 loss.

Suggs had just five tackles -- two solo -- in the loss, and made no impact elsewhere on the box score.

Will Hill
News
The Ravens have signed suspended safety Will Hill to a one-year deal, according to the Baltimore Sun. Hill is suspended for six games for violating the league's substance abuse policy while with the Giants, his second suspension since entering the NFL.

"If we need it, Will will provide depth in the middle of the season," Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome explained.

Injury
Suspension - Eligible to return Week 7 vs. Atlanta
Torrey Smith
News
Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith managed just one catch against the Steelers Week 2.

Smith was targeted just three times during the contest. Four other Ravens pass catchers received more targets than Smith. He did manage to draw a penalty on his first play, giving his team 23 yards on the play. He didn't actually catch his first pass until the third quarter. Smith hauled in a 10 yard reception with eight minutes left in the quarter.

Smith will look to rebound Week 3 against the Browns.

Fitzgerald Toussaint
News
The Ravens claimed defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi off waivers from the Bengals. To make room, Baltimore released running back Fitzgerald Toussaint.
Ricky Wagner
News
The Ravens are prepared to enter the season with 2013 fifth-rounder Ricky Wagner as their right tackle, reports ESPN.com. Baltimore let Michael Oher leave in free agency and didn't add a significant offensive tackle.

Wagner played 12 percent of the offensive snaps last year as an extra blocker, and worked with the starters throughout the offseason. He'll have to fend off Ryan Jensen to keep the starting job.

"It's now Wagner's job to lose," the report said.

Daryl Smith
News
Ravens linebacker Daryl Smith put together a solid performance in Week 1 against the Bengals, in a 23-16 loss Sunday.

Smith had nine tackles -- four solo -- in the game, but did not make an impact otherwise.

Lardarius Webb
News
Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb was inactive Week 2 against the Steelers.

Webb came into the game questionable due to a back injury. The issue caused Webb to miss Week 1 against the Bengals.

Injury
Back - Missed Week 2 vs. Pittsburgh
Haloti Ngata
News
Looking to free up cap space earlier this offseason, the Ravens offered a "lucrative, long-term" deal with defensive lineman Haloti Ngata so that he wouldn't cost $16 million in cap space. Ngata, 30 years old with two years left on his current deal, wasn't willing to take the extension, NFL Network reports.
Terrence Brooks

Courtney Upshaw
News
Ravens linebacker Courtney Upshaw had four tackles in Sunday's 10-17 overtime victory over the Bengals. Upshaw now has 20 tackles on the season.

The Ravens face the Bears in Week 11.

Arthur Brown
News
The Ravens are unlikely to trade linebacker Arthur Brown, sources told The Baltimore Sun. Brown also feels he is unlikely to be dealt despite being mentioned in trade rumors.

"Trade rumors, I didn't think too much of it," Brown said at his locker after practice Tuesday. "I didn't know how valid it was. Somebody from the staff told me it was just a rumor and there was some interest and they would listen, but I wasn't necessarily on the trading block."

Kamar Aiken
News
Asked what the Ravens' offense lacks, wideout Torrey Smith mentioned a "move-the-chains" receiver like Anquan Boldin. Of course, Baltimore traded Boldin following its Super Bowl victory last year.

“I don’t want to say an Anquan, but just a guy that’s like a move-the-chains guy," Smith told the Baltimore Sun. "That’s probably someone that we need on a consistent basis. Another weapon like that is just another person that Joe [Flacco] can rely on.”

Second-year pro Marlon Brown returns to the receiving corps, while Baltimore could lose unrestricted free agent Jacoby Jones and restricted free agent Tandon Doss. The other four receivers on the roster -- Deonte Thompson, Kamar Aiken, Gerrard Sheppard and Aaron Mellette – all are unproven, the report said.

Justin Tucker
News
Ravens kicker Justin Tucker picked up four field goals Week 2 against the Steelers.

Tucker got in a lot of work during the contest. After hitting an early extra point attempt, Tucker also nailed a 30 yard field goal to open the second quarter. After hitting his second extra point, Tucker got most of his work. On the Ravens next three drives, Tucker managed to hit three field goals. He hit from 20, 22 and 23 yards out.

Tucker will take on the Browns Week 3.

Justin Forsett
News
Ravens running back Justin Forsett looked good in a limited role Week 2 against the Steelers.

Forsett gained 56 yards on just eight carries, good for a 7.0 average. Forsett didn't come out as the team's primary ball carrier, but did manage to receive an early goal line carry. He couldn't convert on the play. Forsett gained most of his yardage on a big 41 yard carry in the fourth quarter. He nearly scored on the play, but was taken down on the 1 yard line. Forsett received an opportunity to punch the ball in, but couldn't do it. Forsett also caught four passes for 16 yards.

He'll take on the Browns Week 3.

Jeremy Butler
News
The Ravens are down to 53 players, thanks to a series of Saturday cuts.

The offensive players now gone are linemen Parker Graham, A.Q. Shipley and Ryan Jensen, tight end Phillip Supernaw, quarterback Keith Wenning and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint.

Those on defense include defensive backs Dominique Franks, Derek Cox, Tramain Jacobs and Sammy Seamster, linebacker John Simon and linemen Jamie Meder and A.J. Pataiali'i.

The team also placed wide receiver Jeremy Butler on injured reserve.

Kapron Lewis-Moore
News
The Ravens waived safety Omar Brown, linebackers Nick DiMarco and Austin Spitler, punter Richie Leone, offensive tackle David Mims, cornerbacks Marrio Norman and Deji Olatoye, receivers LaQuan Williams and Mike Willie and running back Cierre Wood.

Fullback Shaun Chapas and offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten were waived with injury designations. Baltimore also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, guard Will Rackley and defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve.

Injury
Achilles - IR. Out for season
Owen Daniels
News
Ravens tight end Owen Daniels snagged two scores Week 2 against the Steelers.

Daniels actually hauled in five passes during the outing, but only gained 28 yards. He came up big when it counted, though. Daniels caught a 2 yard score in the first quarter, and came back with a 1 yard strike in the third.

Daniels will take on the Browns Week 3.

Dennis Pitta
News
Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta played a huge part in the team's passing game Sunday, in a 23-16 loss to the Bengals in Week 1.

Pitta was targeted 15 times and hauled in a team-high 10 of those passes thrown his way, as he served as Joe Flacco's favorite target. He racked up 83 yards in the game, 23 of them on one pass, his longest of the game.

Pitta missed all but four games a year ago, but showed he is healthy with his career-best performance Sunday. He will look to keep rolling when he takes on the Steelers in Week 2 Thursday.

Morgan Cox

Jamie Meder

Jimmy Smith
News
At times this preseason it was a real question whether the Ravens' starting cornerbacks, Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb, would be ready for the opener against Cincinnati. Now both seem guaranteed to play.

Smith, who had a bruised chest, is no longer listed on the injury report. Webb also practiced in full Wednesday after missing the entire preseason with a back issue.

Sam Koch
News
Ravens punter Sam Koch is a likely salary cap casualty, reports ESPN.com. The team can gain $1.6 million in cap room by releasing Koch, who finished 22nd in net punting average (38.9 yards).
Elvis Dumervil
News
Ravens LB Elvis Dumervil is active Week 17.

Dumervil came into the game questionable due to an ankle injury. He was limited in practices throughout the week.

Brent Urban
News
The Ravens waived safety Omar Brown, linebackers Nick DiMarco and Austin Spitler, punter Richie Leone, offensive tackle David Mims, cornerbacks Marrio Norman and Deji Olatoye, receivers LaQuan Williams and Mike Willie and running back Cierre Wood.

Fullback Shaun Chapas and offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten were waived with injury designations. Baltimore also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, guard Will Rackley and defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve.

Injury
Knee - IR. Out for season
Gino Gradkowski
News
Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed to ESPN that newly acquired center Jeremy Zuttah will start for them ahead of Gino Gradkowski. Zuttah was brought on the roster in exchange for a draft pick last week.
DeAngelo Tyson
News
The Ravens DST intercepted Matthew Stafford three times in the Week 15 win at Detroit, holding the high-octane Lions to 16 points. Defensive tackle DeAngelo Tyson, linebacker Daryl Smith and safety Matt Elam picked off Stafford in the second half.

Smith has three interceptions this year, tied for the team lead, after snagging Stafford's ill-advised pass over the middle. Smith added a sack, giving him 4 1/2 this season.

Baltimore got a lift from the return of outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who had two quarterback hits and two tackles. The Ravens DST faces another tough matchup Week 16 vs. the Patriots.

Kelechi Osemele
News
The rehab for Ravens offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele is going well, the official team website reports. Osemele had back surgery last November but is on track for "a smooth return."

Osemele is penciled in at one of the guard spots this season.

Chykie Brown
News
In the battle for the Ravens' nickel corner job, Asa Jackson has taken the lead over Chykie Brown, ESPN.com reports Saturday.

Jackson has been impressive in training camp, and he picked off a pass in the first preseason game against the 49ers. Brown has been filling in for starting corner Lardarius Webb, who has missed time due to a back injury, but seems likely to open the season as a reserve at this point.

Jacoby Jones
News
Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones made minimal contributions Week 2 against the Steelers.

Jones caught one pass for 4 yards. He also received one carry for 2 yards. Jones also had two punt returns, including a 33 yard return, during the contest. He'll take on the Browns Week 3.

Eugene Monroe
News
Ravens left tackle Eugene Monroe didn't have the smoothest transition after he was traded to Baltimore in October 2013. He told the Baltimore Sun that having a full offseason should make a difference, both in absorbing Gary Kubiak's playbook and getting used to working alongside left guard Kelechi Osemele.

"It’s definitely a good situation to be here the entire offseason, knowing who you’re going to play with and getting better together," Monroe said. "It has been fun; I’ve been enjoying it."

Monroe and Osemele started only two games together last year before Osemele was shelved with a herniated disk that required surgery.

"The left side of the offensive line, those guys, they're looking very good and they've been working really hard," coach John Harbaugh said. "If you see these guys on their own, you see these guys early, late, you're probably going to see those two guys in the weight room or the meeting room working, and they've done a great job."

Bernard Pierce
News
Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was the bellcow Week 2 against the Steelers.

Pierce carried the ball 22 times for 96 yards. He also caught one pass for 7 yards during the contest. Despite the decent performance, Pierce couldn't manage a touchdown. Pierce was the primary ball carrier on the team's first drive, but was replaced by Justin Forsett at the goal line. Forsett failed to convert his goal line carry. Pierce would receive four carries within five yards of the goal line during the rest of the game, but failed to score on any of them.

Pierce will take on the Browns Week 3.

Albert McClellan
News
Three injured Ravens defenders have been given various tags for the battle against the Bengals on Sunday. Cornerback Asa Jackson (thigh) is doubtful, defensive end Arthur Jones (concussion) is questionable and linebacker Albert McClellan (neck) is probable.
Lorenzo Taliaferro
News
The Ravens run game is changing in the wake of Ray Rice's release, but it's not promised that rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro will get in on the action anytime soon. Taliaferro had a target in Sunday's game against the Bengals but probably needs Bernard Pierce to either get hurt or disappoint before getting an opportunity.

Working in Taliaferro's favor is his coaching staff. The Ravens' current group of coaches drafted him and probably all agree on his talent. What's more, current Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak has a knack for taking unknown rushers and turning them into prominent players (he did it with Steve Slaton and Arian Foster in Houston). Taliaferro is worth owning in deep-roster leagues at this point.

Matt Elam
News
The Ravens' Matt Elam is expected to move from free safety to strong safety for his second season, reports the Baltimore Sun. Current strong safety James Ihedigbo is a free agent.

Elam had 77 tackles, three passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and an interception while playing all 16 games. The paper expects the hard-hitting Elam "to make a much bigger impact" at strong safety, his more natural position.

Kyle Juszczyk
News
The Ravens have released running back Anthony Allen in their round of cuts on Friday, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Allen was squeezed out when the team decided to keep two fullbacks in starter Vonta Leach and rookie Kyle Juszczyk.

The other Ravens let go were cornerback Marc Anthony, linebackers Nigel Carr and Brandon Copeland, running back Delone Carter, quarterback Dayne Crist, offensive tackles Jordan Devey and Rogers Gaines, tight end Alex Silvestro and center Reggie Stephens.

The Ravens also terminated the contract of quarterback Caleb Hanie and placed outside linebacker D.J. Bryant (ACL) on IR.

Keith Wenning
News
The Ravens signed quarterback Keith Wenning and defensive tackle A.J. Pataiali'i to their practice squad, reports the Baltimore Sun.

Marlon Brown
News
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings that Marlon Brown still has a chance to be a quality playmaker even though the team added Steve Smith this offseason and brought back Jacoby Jones. Torrey Smith is also there as the No. 1 receiver.

"He's competing for a starting spot," Harbaugh said. "It's not a two-receiver league anymore. It’s not like you’ve got your two starters and then your No. 3 guy is a slot receiver. That’s the way that people kind of want to label it. It’s just more complex than that. And with Jacoby, you’ve got four guys right there that are going to play a lot of football. And one thing I think (offensive coordinator) coach (Gary) Kubiak does a great job of is he understands how to put guys in a position to play to their strengths. He knows Jacoby very well, and Jacoby has only gotten better since he's been here. He's matured as a player and a person. Steve Smith has certain things that he does extremely well. So does Marlon Brown, and Marlon's going to obviously, I would think, make leaps and bounds from Year 1 to Year 2. ... Gary’s got some guys that he’s excited to work with, so I can't wait to see how he uses them."
