Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata, a 30-year-old five-time Pro Bowler, has one year left on his contract. He'll carry a $16 million cap figure and an $8.5 million base salary unless the team renegotiates his deal.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens likely will try to extend Ngata's contract and create more cap flexibility "in a manner similar to their contract extension last year for outside linebacker Terrell Suggs."

"I think everybody knows the answer to that," coach John Harbaugh told the paper when asked if the team will try to reach a deal with Ngata. "I don't really want to get into too many specific situations right now until we come back with a plan, but we all know the answer to that question."

Ngata missed four games this season due to a violation of the league's drug policy. He finished with 31 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

But they did a great job taking care of me throughout the season. I train my butt off during the offseason, so I’ll be ready to go and hopefully I’ll be back.”

Daniels finished with 48 catches for 527 yards and four touchdowns.

Dennis Pitta
News
Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta met with specialists last week about his hip, coach John Harbaugh told the Baltimore Sun, saying a decision on Pitta's future would be announced in about two weeks. Pitta dislocated and fractured his hip Week 3 against the Browns, the second time in two years he suffered that injury.

“I did get kind of an overview of that report from our trainer that I wouldn’t really want to share until Dennis has had a chance to kind of consider all of the ramifications of it,” Harbaugh told the paper. “But I think we’ll have something on that in a couple of weeks, kind of on Dennis’ time frame. We’ll see where that goes.”
