Darian Stewart
News
With the No. 79 pick in the NFL Draft, the Ravens selected safety Terrence Brooks from Florida State.

This is the second year in a row the Ravens have addressed safety in the draft when they selected Matt Elam in the first round in 2013. Brooks should challenge Darian Stewart for the starting job at free safety this season.

He started 13 games for the Seminoles in 2013 and posted a stat line of 56-5-2 with eight tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles.

Jeromy Miles
News
The Ravens announced Friday they have signed special teams standout Jeromy Miles, reports ESPN.

Miles spent 2013 with the Ravens and recorded 10 tackles.

C.J. Mosley
News
Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley was fined $8,268 for a late hit on Bengals running back Giovani Bernard in the team's Week 1 loss, the Baltimore Sun reports. The linebacker is permitted to file an appeal of the fine.
Ryan Jensen
News
The Ravens are down to 53 players, thanks to a series of Saturday cuts.

The offensive players now gone are linemen Parker Graham, A.Q. Shipley and Ryan Jensen, tight end Phillip Supernaw, quarterback Keith Wenning and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint.

Those on defense include defensive backs Dominique Franks, Derek Cox, Tramain Jacobs and Sammy Seamster, linebacker John Simon and linemen Jamie Meder and A.J. Pataiali'i.

The team also placed wide receiver Jeremy Butler on injured reserve.

Jeremy Zuttah
News
The Ravens will have their probable players Week 6 against the Bucs.

Matt Elam, Daryl Smith and Jeremy Zuttah should all suit up against Tampa Bay. Elam was listed with a shoulder injury. Smith is dealing with a knee issue, while Zuttah has an ankle injury.

Asa Jackson
News
The Ravens placed cornerback Asa Jackson on injured reserve/designated for return with a toe injury. He's eligible to return Week 15.

Steve Smith
News
If you own Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith in Fantasy, take a deep breath. Sure, he's saved his worst for the last two weeks after convincing you he's a must-start in Fantasy over the first six, but you have to live with some ups and downs from him. Like the Redskins' DeSean Jackson, the big play is vital to his success, and the big play doesn't happen every week.

It almost happened for Smith in Week 8. In fact, some might argue it should have happened. Smith was called for offensive pass interference on what would have been an 80-yard touchdown with less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter, but replays showed that his push off George Iloka, while not totally innocent, might not have been flagrant enough to draw a flag in every instance.

So he was an official's judgment call away from an 115-yard, touchdown-scoring performance. Wouldn't that have changed the complexion of this update?

Smith has the potential for a play like that any given week, and after going two weeks without one, I'd say he's due. I plan on starting him again Week 9 at Pittsburgh.

Marcel Jones
News
The Saints have knocked their roster down to 53 by waiving a number of players Saturday.

Among the offense players let go are center Matt Armstrong, wide receivers Seantavius Jones , Brandon Coleman and Charles Hawkins, tight end Nic Jacobs, guards Jason Weaver and Marcel Jones, tackles Tavon Rooks and Thomas Welch and running backs Greg Jones and Derrick Strozier.

The defenders cut loose are cornerbacks Trevin Wade, Terrence Frederick and Derrius Brooks, linebackers Keyunta Dawson and Todd Davis, tackle Lawrence Virgil, safety Pierre Warren.

Placekickers Shayne Graham and Derek Dimke are also out.

Aaron Ross
News
Ravens coach John Harbaugh announced Thursday that cornerback Aaron Ross would be lost for the season after tearing his Achilles during conditioning drills, FOX Sports reported. Ross was planning to push for a starting job after struggling with a back injury and ultimately missing a chunk of last season.

Tramain Jacobs

Will Rackley
News
The Ravens waived safety Omar Brown, linebackers Nick DiMarco and Austin Spitler, punter Richie Leone, offensive tackle David Mims, cornerbacks Marrio Norman and Deji Olatoye, receivers LaQuan Williams and Mike Willie and running back Cierre Wood.

Fullback Shaun Chapas and offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten were waived with injury designations. Baltimore also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, guard Will Rackley and defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve.

Injury
John Urschel
News
The following players have been ruled inactive for the Ravens in Week 5 against the Colts: Chris Canty, Arthur Brown, Eugene Monroe, John Urschel, Phillip Supernaw, Timmy Jernigan and Michael Campanaro.
James Hurst
News
Ravens left tackle Eugene Monroe, who had arthroscopic knee surgery last week, is expected to miss roughly a month, reports the Baltimore Sun. Undrafted rookie James Hurst filled in well Week 4 and should continue to start in Monroe's absence, according to the team's website.

The Ravens visit the Colts on Sunday.

Anthony Levine
News
The Ravens tendered offers to their six exclusive rights free agents: safeties Omar Brown, Brynden Trawick and Anthony Levine, and linebackers D.J. Bryant, Josh Bynes and Adrian Hamilton.
Phillip Supernaw
News
The Ravens waived tight end Ryan Taylor and signed tight end Phillip Supernaw off the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Supernaw will be tasked with backing up Crockett Gilmore Sunday with Owen Daniels on the sidelines.
Brynden Trawick
News
The Ravens tendered offers to their six exclusive rights free agents: safeties Omar Brown, Brynden Trawick and Anthony Levine, and linebackers D.J. Bryant, Josh Bynes and Adrian Hamilton.
Joe Flacco
News
When Joe Flacco threw five touchdown passes Week 6 at Tampa Bay, I was one of those he believed he might be on the verge of a career season, buying the chemistry between him and new wide receiver Steve Smith and believing the Ravens would continue to use Justin Forsett as more of a pass catcher.

The two games since then have shown I couldn't have been more wrong.

Not that he was so bad in Week 7, but against the Falcons defense, a 1-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio is nothing to celebrate. And then came the disaster of Week 8 at Cincinnati, when he completed just 50 percent of his passes for 195 yards and two interceptions.

That's two touchdowns to four interceptions with an average of 226.5 yards in two games -- hardly the makings of a career season.

Of course, these last two games have been two of Smith's quietest, which probably isn't a coincidence. He certainly has more 100-yard performances in his future, and Flacco will benefit from those. But with so much depth at quarterback, Flacco's inconsistencies make him little more than a bye-week replacement in Fantasy.

Tyrod Taylor
News
The Ravens backup runners did little Week 6.

Lorenzo Taliaferro received just two carries, but did gain 29 yards. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor had four carries for -3 yards. He did not receive a passing attempt. Both players will take on the Falcons Week 7.

Terrence Cody
News
Ravens nose tackle Terrence Cody, who's coming back from offseason hip surgery, will return to practice this week, reports ESPN.com. The team has three weeks to decide whether to add Cody to the active roster or keep him on the PUP list.

Cody is in great shape and "chomping at the bit" to play, coach John Harbaugh told the website.

Timmy Jernigan
News
As expected, the Ravens have ruled out defensive end Chris Canty for the Sunday game against Atlanta with a wrist injury. The only other certain no-go is defensive end Christo Bilukidi (ankle).

Also unlikely to play are offensive linemen Eugene Monroe and Kelechi Osemele, both of whom are doubtful with knee injuires. Wide receivers Marlon Brown (pelvis) and Kamar Aiken (concussion) and defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (knee) are probable.

Steven Means
News
The Buccaneers have re-signed defensive end Larry English, according to SportsTalkFlorida.com. The team waived defensive end Steven Means to clear a roster spot.
Christo Bilukidi
News
The Ravens placed defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday. With the open roster spot, the team added Will Hill (suspension) to the active roster.
Injury
Ankle - IR. Out for season
Terrell Suggs
News
The following players on the injury report were ruled active for the Ravens in Week 5 at Indianapolis: Chykie Brown (neck), Owen Daniels (not injury related), Bernard Pierce (thigh), Steve Smith (not injury related) and Terrell Suggs (thigh).
Emmanuel Ogbuehi
News
The Browns signed defensive lineman Calvin Barnett to the practice squad and released tight end Emmanual Ogbuehi Monday, the team announced.
Will Hill
News
The Ravens will place safety Will Hill on the active roster Saturday in advance of Sunday's matchup with the Falcons, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Hill served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. He is expected to play in a limited fashion against the Falcons.

Torrey Smith
News
Even though Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith scored a combined three touchdowns in Weeks 6 and 7, his limited number of targets and catches in those games were cause for skepticism.

So in some ways, his performance Week 8 at Cincinnati, when he was shut out on two targets, was all too predictable.

As primarily a deep-ball threat, Smith has always been an all-or-nothing player, but now the Ravens have an even better deep-ball threat in Steve Smith, they're at a loss for what to do with Torrey Smith. Offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak made a real effort get him involved in Weeks 5 and 6, but his 39-yard touchdown in Week 7 came when the Ravens were seemingly just running out the clock already up big in the fourth quarter. It was completely superfluous.

Which is what Smith is now in Fantasy. He'll find the end zone again in 2014 and occasionally make you wonder why you don't use him more often, but his downside from week to week is simply too great at this stage of his career.

Fitzgerald Toussaint
News
The Ravens announced Tuesday they signed wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who was waived Saturday. To clear a roster sport, running back Fitzgerald Toussaint was waived.
Ricky Wagner
News
The Ravens are prepared to enter the season with 2013 fifth-rounder Ricky Wagner as their right tackle, reports ESPN.com. Baltimore let Michael Oher leave in free agency and didn't add a significant offensive tackle.

Wagner played 12 percent of the offensive snaps last year as an extra blocker, and worked with the starters throughout the offseason. He'll have to fend off Ryan Jensen to keep the starting job.

"It's now Wagner's job to lose," the report said.

Daryl Smith
News
The Ravens have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday's Week 8 matchup with the Bengals: tight end Owen Daniels (wrist), defensive lineman Chris Canty (wrist), running back Bernard Pierce, cornerback Chykie Brown, linebacker Arthur Brown and offensive linemen Gino Gradkowski and Jah Reid.

Pierce's de-activation comes as a surprise, but he's averaged 2.1 and 2.6 yards per carry in the team's last two games, though he's scored a touchdown in each. The Ravens' goal-line looks could shift to Lorenzo Taliaferro with Pierce unavailable.

Daniels and Canty had already been ruled out, but the Ravens are otherwise very healthy heading into the key matchup against the Bengals. Four players listed as probable are active for the game, including Steve Smith (not injury related), linebacker Daryl Smith (not injury related) and offensive linemen Eugene Monroe (knee) and Kelechi Osemele (knee).

Lardarius Webb
News
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday he is aiming for cornerback Lardarius Webb to get back on the field Week 5 against the Colts. Even though he was a healthy scratch Week 4 vs. Carolina, Webb missed the first two games due to a back injury and was limited in his season debut Week 3.
Haloti Ngata
News
Looking to free up cap space earlier this offseason, the Ravens offered a "lucrative, long-term" deal with defensive lineman Haloti Ngata so that he wouldn't cost $16 million in cap space. Ngata, 30 years old with two years left on his current deal, wasn't willing to take the extension, NFL Network reports.
Terrence Brooks
News
Running back Bernard Pierce is one of only two injured scratches for the Ravens on Sunday as they prepare for their clash in Cleveland. The other is defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (knee).

The rest of the inactives are wide receiver Michael Campanaro , safety Terrence Brooks, linebacker Arthur Brown and offensive linemen Jah Reid and John Urschel.

Courtney Upshaw
News
Ravens linebacker Courtney Upshaw had four tackles in Sunday's 10-17 overtime victory over the Bengals. Upshaw now has 20 tackles on the season.

The Ravens face the Bears in Week 11.

Arthur Brown

Kamar Aiken

Justin Tucker
News
Ravens kicker Justin Tucker converted all three of his field-goal attempts from 45, 50 and 53 yards in his team's 27-24 loss to the Bengals in Week 8.

The Ravens couldn't deliver a win, but Tucker was excellent in the loss, adding an extra point while nailing three field goals of 40 yards or more after managing a total of three from that distance in his team's first seven games. He's 18 for 21 on field-goal attempts on the year. The Ravens head to Pittsburgh in Week 9.

Justin Forsett
News
Ravens running back Justin Forsett said he missed practice Wednesday due to a minor ankle injury, according to The Baltimore Sun. However, he said he plans to play Week 9 against the Steelers.
Jeremy Butler

Kapron Lewis-Moore
News
The Ravens waived safety Omar Brown, linebackers Nick DiMarco and Austin Spitler, punter Richie Leone, offensive tackle David Mims, cornerbacks Marrio Norman and Deji Olatoye, receivers LaQuan Williams and Mike Willie and running back Cierre Wood.

Fullback Shaun Chapas and offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten were waived with injury designations. Baltimore also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, guard Will Rackley and defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve.

Injury
Achilles - IR. Out for season
Owen Daniels
News
Ravens tight end Owen Daniels underwent a minor knee procedure earlier in the week and was officially ruled out for Week 8 against Cincinnati, according to Baltimore Sun. Coach John Harbaugh told the paper that Daniels could be back in action as early as Week 9 at Pittsburgh.
Injury
Knee - Missed Week 8 at Cincinnati
Dennis Pitta
News
Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta, who underwent season-ending hip surgery last month, told the Baltimore Sun it's too soon to tell whether he'll be able to resume his career.

"It’s tough," Pitta said. "I have to be patient right now, I have to let myself heal and take it one day at a time and begin my rehab and work hard doing that when I can. It’s a tough process and something, unfortunately, I have been through before and will get through again.

"In a few months, we’ll see how I’m feeling and how things are going and we’ll be able to make some determinations then," Pitta said. "It’s still too early to kind of tell, and I’ll continue on like I did last year and get myself ready to get back on the field."

In Week 3 against the Browns, Pitta fractured and dislocated his hip for the second straight year.

Kevin McDermott
News
The 49ers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of cornerback Kenneth Acker and fullback Will Tukuafu on the injured reserve list.

San Francisco cut the following players: T Carter Bykowski, TE Asante Cleveland, WR Lance Lewis, LS Kevin McDermott, CB Darryl Morris, G Al Netter, DL Lawrence Okoye, WR Kassim Osgood, T Michael Philipp, NT Mike Purcell, G Ryan Seymour, LB Shayne Skov, RB Alfonso Smith, G Adam Snyder, S C.J. Spillman, LB Chase Thomas, S Raymond Ventrone, WR L'Damian Washington and RB Glenn Winston.
Morgan Cox
News
The Ravens have placed long snapper Morgan Cox on the injured reserve list with a torn ACL, which he suffered Week 7 against Atlanta. The team signed former 49ers long snapper Kevin McDermott to replace Cox on the active roster.
Injury
Jamie Meder

Jimmy Smith
News
Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters in his Monday news conference that cornerback Jimmy Smith will likely be sidelined until the bye week with a foot sprain, according to the Baltimore Sun. Harbaugh specified that Smith's sprain, which will keep him out a few weeks, is not of the Lisfranc severity.

Smith suffered the injury Week 8 at Cincinnati. He registered 28 combined tackles and one interception before getting hurt.

Injury
Foot - Left Week 8 at Cincinnati
Sam Koch
News
Ravens punter Sam Koch is a likely salary cap casualty, reports ESPN.com. The team can gain $1.6 million in cap room by releasing Koch, who finished 22nd in net punting average (38.9 yards).
Elvis Dumervil
News
Ravens LB Elvis Dumervil is active Week 17.

Dumervil came into the game questionable due to an ankle injury. He was limited in practices throughout the week.

Brent Urban
News
The Ravens waived safety Omar Brown, linebackers Nick DiMarco and Austin Spitler, punter Richie Leone, offensive tackle David Mims, cornerbacks Marrio Norman and Deji Olatoye, receivers LaQuan Williams and Mike Willie and running back Cierre Wood.

Fullback Shaun Chapas and offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten were waived with injury designations. Baltimore also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, guard Will Rackley and defensive end Brent Urban on injured reserve.

Gino Gradkowski

Dominique Franks
News
The Ravens re-signed cornerback Dominique Franks, who was cut by the team right before the season, reports the Baltimore Sun. Franks has played in 48 career games, making three interceptions. He spent last season with the Falcons.
DeAngelo Tyson
News
The Ravens DST intercepted Matthew Stafford three times in the Week 15 win at Detroit, holding the high-octane Lions to 16 points. Defensive tackle DeAngelo Tyson, linebacker Daryl Smith and safety Matt Elam picked off Stafford in the second half.

Smith has three interceptions this year, tied for the team lead, after snagging Stafford's ill-advised pass over the middle. Smith added a sack, giving him 4 1/2 this season.

Baltimore got a lift from the return of outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who had two quarterback hits and two tackles. The Ravens DST faces another tough matchup Week 16 vs. the Patriots.

Kelechi Osemele

Jacoby Jones
News
The Ravens will stick with wide receiver Jacoby Jones as their punt rerturner, ESPN reports Thursday. Jones has had some issues turning the ball over as of late. He misled a punt, which bounced off his back in Week 5 against Indianapolis.

"We're going to give him more opportunities to do that because we know he's an elite returner," special teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg said. "But to be an elite returner, you have to have a ball in your hands. We need to get that fixed, and give him an opportunity to run with it."

Eugene Monroe
News
Ravens offensive linemen Kelechi Osemele (knee) and Eugene Monroe (knee) were both practicing Wednesday. Osemele has missed the last two games, while Monroe has missed four straight.

The Ravens are preparing to face the Bengals in Week 8.

Bernard Pierce
News
When the Ravens listed a perfectly healthy Bernard Pierce among their inactives for Week 8 at Cincinnati, it probably seemed like good news for Justin Forsett owners. Pierce had been a thorn in their sides, short-changing Forsett with a short touchdown run each of the last two weeks.

But Forsett wasn't the one to benefit from Pierce's absence. Lorenzo Taliaferro was, scoring not just one touchdown but two -- and both on runs of more than 5 yards.

Forsett was still the primary rusher, getting 17 carries to Taliaferro's seven, and he got a chance from the Bengals' 2-yard line in the first quarter. But when he failed with it, the Ravens seemed all the more inclined to go with Taliaferro inside the 10-yard line.

Taliaferro may be even more of a danger to Forsett than Pierce was. The Ravens trusted Pierce in short-yardage situations, but with an average of just 3.6 yards per carry, he wasn't a threat to break a long one. With Sunday's performance, Taliaferro is averaging 4.4 yards per carry, and again, neither of his touchdowns came at the goal line.

It doesn't mean you sit Forsett in Fantasy. He's been pretty reliable no matter who the Ravens have paired with him. But he's not as safe as he appeared to be at this time last week. And Taliaferro is worth adding on his own merit.

Albert McClellan
News
Three injured Ravens defenders have been given various tags for the battle against the Bengals on Sunday. Cornerback Asa Jackson (thigh) is doubtful, defensive end Arthur Jones (concussion) is questionable and linebacker Albert McClellan (neck) is probable.
Lorenzo Taliaferro
News
Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro rushed seven times for 27 yards and two touchdowns and added two catches for a team-high 42 receiving yards in his team's 27-24 loss to the Bengals in Week 8.

Taliaferro was able to take the ball up the middle on a first-and-goal from the 10-yard line to score his first touchdown late in the first quarter. His second score came on another first-and-goal in the fourth quarter, as he ran untouched on the left side for an eight-yard score. He had been held out of the end zone since scoring touchdowns in back-to-back games at the end of September but was a bigger part of the offense in Week 8 after Bernard Pierce was listed as a healthy inactive.

Taliaferro has rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns on 51 carries while also catching four passes for 60 yards. He'll face the Steelers in Pittsburgh in Week 9.

Matt Elam
News
Ravens strong safety Matt Elam is his own worst critic. And he is not happy about his recent play.

Elam has allowed 14 receptions on 17 targets for 249 yards this season. Included were two catches, one of which resulting in a touchdown, in two targets to Buccaneers wideout Louis Murphy on Sunday.

"I'm not pleased with the last couple games at all," he told the Baltimore Sun. "That's why I'm working to get better every week to fine-tune the small things, so I won't have to say that about the next few weeks."

The difficulty of his task will be heightened in Week 7 against Atlanta, which features premier wide receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White.

Kyle Juszczyk
News
The Ravens backup pass catchers found a way to contribute Week 6.

Michael Campanaro managed to catch one of Joe Flacco's many touchdowns Sunday. He pulled in two passes for 28 yards. Kamar Aiken also hauled in a touchdown. He finished with two catches for 20 yards before leaving with a concussion.

Owen Daniels also had two receptions, but finished third on the team with 34 yards. Kyle Juszczyk also caught two passes, gaining 29 yards. Crockett Gillmore gained 16 yards on two receptions.

They'll take on the Falcons Week 7.

Michael Campanaro
News
Ravens wide receiver Michael Campanaro suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's game against the Bengals and will not return.

The Ravens are also evaluating Torrey Smith for a concussion. With the team's top two tight ends sidelined and two receivers suffering injuries in the second half, the depth of Joe Flacco's pass-catching corps is being severely tested in the Week 8 battle. Campanaro had three catches and a team-high 40 receiving yards at the time of his injury.

Crockett Gillmore
News
Ravens rookie tight end Crockett Gillmore earned praise after making his first NFL start Week 8 at Cincinnati. Gillmore replaced Owen Daniels, who had arthroscopic knee surgery Friday, and caught two passes for 23 yards. He played 51 snaps on offense, 10 on special teams.

"He did a good job, made a lot of catches, made some really good blocks," coach John Harbaugh said of Gillmore, per the Baltimore Sun. "He has a lot of potential as a player. He's big, he's physical, moves his feet well.

"I thought he did a great job of finding open spaces in zone coverage, caught the ball, got upfield, got an extra yard or two to get the first down. He did a good job with the communication, didn't have any assignment errors, which is really big for a rookie. Played hard, physical, tenacious."

Deonte Thompson
News
The Ravens have signed burner wideout Deonte Thompson to their practice squad one day after releasing him. The move was precipitated by the release of defensive tackle. A.J. Pataiali'i.

Thompson cleared waivers Thursday after having caught three touchdown passes in the preseason and racking up 10 receptions for 96 yards in 2013.
