Position Listing

Vinston Painter
News
Defensive linemen Phillip Taylor (knee) and Billy Winn (quad), who had been listed as questionable, headline the inactives for the Browns on Sunday against Oakland. Also out is wide receiver Rodney Smith (hamstring).

The healthy scratches are cornerbacks Pierre Desir and Robert Nelson, running back Glenn Winston and offensive lineman Vinston Painter.

Ben Tate
News
Browns running back Ben Tate made up for a subpar game overall in Week 8, as he scored a late touchdown in a 23-13 win over the Raiders.

Tate rushed for just 26 yards on 15 carries, and was a nonfactor in the passing game, so the touchdown turned out to be pretty important for Fantasy owners. With a couple of young running backs on the roster possibly pushing him for playing time, a subpar effort isn't good to see, however, Terrance West rushed for just 11 yards on seven carries himself Sunday, so there doesn't seem to be much reason to think Tate cost himself.

Tate has averaged 3.1 yards per carry or less in three straight games, so this continues a unfortunate trend. Still, he had 124 yards on 22 carries in his first game back from a knee injury, so there is little reason to think this is a lingering issue.

It is probably fair to chalk this up to a slump and assume Tate will turn things around, perhaps as soon as Week 9 against a Buccaneers team that is allowing the fifth-most Fantasy points to opposing running backs in the league.

Phillip Taylor

Travis Benjamin
News
Several Browns receivers chipped in with catches to aid in their lopsided victory over Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Among them was Week 5 hero Travis Benjamin, who followed that two-touchdown effort by catching one pass for 31 yards and adding a three-yard run. Tight end Jim Dray did the same through the air while wideout Miles Austin added two receptions for 29 yards. Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel pitched in with a catch for 24 yards.

Paul McQuistan
News
Browns coach Mike Pettine said Thursday offensive lineman John Greco will likely start at center and offensive lineman Paul McQuistan will start at right guard Week 7 at Jacksonville. The starting lineup along the offensive line is undergoing changes in the wake of center Alex Mack's leg injury.
Glenn Winston

Paul Kruger
News
Browns outside linebacker Paul Kruger, who was a disappointment in 2013 with just 4 1/2 sacks, exceeded that number for the season Sunday with three sacks against Oakland to give him five on the year.

Kruger added two more tackles and a pass defensed.

Nick McDonald
News
The Browns activated offensive lineman Nick McDonald from the reserve/NFI list Saturday and waived tight end Gerell Robinson.

McDonald began the season on the reserved list after suffering a broken wrist during the rummer. He received practice time with the starters this week at center and could be in line to man the center of the offensive line this Sunday against the Raiders.

Kiero Small
News
The Browns announced Monday they signed fullback Kiero Small to the active roster. To clear a roster spot, the team waived fullback Ray Agnew.
L'Damian Washington
News
The 49ers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of cornerback Kenneth Acker and fullback Will Tukuafu on the injured reserve list.

San Francisco cut the following players: T Carter Bykowski, TE Asante Cleveland, WR Lance Lewis, LS Kevin McDermott, CB Darryl Morris, G Al Netter, DL Lawrence Okoye, WR Kassim Osgood, T Michael Philipp, NT Mike Purcell, G Ryan Seymour, LB Shayne Skov, RB Alfonso Smith, G Adam Snyder, S C.J. Spillman, LB Chase Thomas, S Raymond Ventrone, WR L'Damian Washington and RB Glenn Winston.
Spencer Lanning
News
Tight end Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is not the only Browns player listed as questionable for the Sunday game against Baltimore. Second-year linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) has received the same designation.

All the other Browns on their Friday injury report aside from shelved running back Ben Tate (knee) are probable. They are wide receiver Travis Benjamin (knee), defensive ends Desmond Bryant (wrist) and John Hughes (hamstring), punter Spencer Lanning (shoulder), offensive lineman Paul McQuistan (ankle) and cornerback Buster Skrine (thumb).

Josh Gordon
News
The NFL and its players association agreed to a new drug policy that reduces Browns receiver Josh Gordon's one-year suspension to 10 games, reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Gordon will be eligible to play Nov. 23 at Atlanta.

Gordon is expected to return to the Browns' facility this week for meetings and conditioning.

Injury
Suspension - Eligible to return Week 12 at Atlanta
Robert Nelson

John Greco
Calvin Barnett
News
Justin Gilbert
News
The doubtful status of surprising Browns rookie cornerback K'Waun Williams for the Sunday game in Jacksonville has forced Buster Skrine back inside as the nickel corner, ESPN.com is reporting.

That could mean more playing time for rookie first round pick Justin Gilbert, who performed better in Week 6 after losing playing time to poor performance.

Chris Kirksey
News
Browns rookie linebacker Chris Kirksey managed a breakthrough game Sunday at Jacksonville despite the team's lopsided loss.

Kirksey led the team with a career-best seven solo tackles and registered one of their two sacks. It was his first sack since the season opener.

Donte Whitner
News
Browns defensive newcomers, linebacker Karlos Dansby and safety Donte Whitner, both made an impression in their debuts with the team Sunday in Pittsburgh.

The former registered a sack, broke up two passes and finished with six tackles. The latter led the team with 13 tackles, including 12 solos.

They will seek to keep up the good work next Sunday against the visiting Saints.

Tank Carder
News
The Browns list a whopping 16 players on their Friday injury report, but half are probable for the Week 17 battle in Pittsburgh, including All-Pro tackle Joe Thomas (back). The other offensive players among them are running back Willis McGahee (knee) and tackle Mitchell Schwartz (toe).

The four defensive probables are linebackers Paul Kruger (illness) and Tank Carder (shoulder), safety Jordan Poyer (toe) and safety T.J. Ward (shoulder, illness). Punter Spencer Lanning (knee) is also probable.

Barkevious Mingo
News
The Browns listed defensive lineman Phil Taylor (knee) and wide receiver Rodney Smith (hamstring) out for Week 8 against Oakland. Deemed questionable were defensive end Billy Winn (quadriceps) and safety Jim Leonhard (ankle).

Meanwhile, defensive end Desmond Bryant (wrist), outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder), defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (ankle) and cornerback K'Waun Williams (concussion) were all labeled probable.

K'Waun Williams
News
Browns emerging cornerback K'Waun Williams reinjured his neck late Sunday against Oakland and was removed from the game. He will not return.
Injury
Neck - Left Week 8 vs. Oakland
Taylor Gabriel
News
Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer found eight different receivers Sunday against Oakland and six of them caught two or fewer passes.

That group included wideouts Taylor Gabriel, who raced 48 yards with a screen pass midway through the first quarter and finished with two catches for 60 yards, and Miles Austin (2-34), tight end Jim Dray (2-27) and running backs Terrance West (1-10) and Isaiah Crowell (1-8). West also rushed for 11 yards on seven carries while Crowell added a carry for one yard.

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen
News
Browns defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin has been given the right light for Sunday action against the host Jaguars. He was deemed questionable with an ankle injury. This will mark his second straight missed game.

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen is set to start in his place.

Armonty Bryant
News
The Browns announced they put defensive end Armonty Bryant (knee) on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Sione Fua. Fua was among the Broncos' final preseason cuts.
Injury
Ryan Seymour
News
The Browns claimed two players off waivers from the 49ers: running back Glenn Winston and offensive lineman Ryan Seymour.
Allen Bradford
News
The Jaguars waived receivers Kenny Shaw and Ramses Barden, guard Antoine Caldwell, linebackers Allen Bradford and Josh Hull, center Patrick Lewis, running back Harvey Unga, cornerback Mike Harris, long snapper Charley Hughlett and safety Joe Young.

They also waived/injured defensive tackle David Carter (knee).

Billy Winn
News
Browns defensive lineman Billy Winn has been cleared to increase his activity in practice this week and is expected to return to action in Sunday's Week 9 matchup with the Buccaneers, ESPN.com reports.

Winn was limited in practice last week and wound up being inactive for the team's win over the Raiders. He's been out for three weeks with a quad injury.

Injury
Quadriceps - Missed Week 8 vs. Oakland
Alex Mack
News
The faint hopes that Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack could return from a broken leg at some point this season have died. He was placed Friday on season-ending IR.

Mack broke his leg in Cleveland's victory Sunday over Pittsburgh. He had never missed a snap in an NFL game.

Injury
Karim Barton
News
The Browns signed quarterback Connor Shaw, linebackers Justin Staples and Keith Pough, offensive linemen Patrick Lewis and Karim Barton, tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi and receiver Charles Johnson to their practice squad.
Joe Haden
News
Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden has received a thumbs-up for the Week 6 game against archrival Pittsburgh despite a hip problem that prevented him from practicing Wednesday and Thursday. Haden's presence could prove critical in containing Steelers prolific wide receiver Antonio Brown.
Jim Leonhard
News
The Browns listed defensive lineman Phil Taylor (knee) and wide receiver Rodney Smith (hamstring) out for Week 8 against Oakland. Deemed questionable were defensive end Billy Winn (quadriceps) and safety Jim Leonhard (ankle).

Meanwhile, defensive end Desmond Bryant (wrist), outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder), defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (ankle) and cornerback K'Waun Williams (concussion) were all labeled probable.

Craig Robertson
News
The Browns injury report for Week 15 against the Bears featured six players from the defensive side of the ball, all of whom were expected to take the field Sunday.  As expected, all six are active prior to kickoff: linebackers Tank Carder (shoulder), D'Qwell Jackson (ankle), Paul Kruger (elbow) and Craig Robertson (knee); defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin (calf); and defensive back T.J. Ward (shoulder).
Terrance West

Jabaal Sheard
News
A nagging wrist injury will not prevent Browns outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard from playing Sunday when his team hosts the Ravens. He has been cleared to play after being listed as probable.
Mitchell Schwartz
News
One of the reasons Johnny Manziel was such a spectacular player in college was because he was able to extend a play and throw to a big receiver down the field. Landing with the Browns is a total win for Johnny Football because he'll have Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Greg Little and Nate Burleson as down-field targets along with Andrew Hawkins as a quick, short-area weapon. Ben Tate rumbling in the backfield doesn't hurt either.

Another impressive factor is the Browns O-line, which has two studs in left tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack. If the line can improve from last season (we're looking at you, Mitchell Schwartz), then Manziel will have time to make good throws.

Of all the places he could have gone in the draft, Cleveland's the best fit. Not only should he inject life into the franchise but he should end up starting in Week 1 against the Steelers. Expect Manziel to get taken late in every single seasonal draft as a combo backup Fantasy QB/sleeper who could get some serious trade value. He'll get picked in the middle rounds in dynasty/keeper leagues and should be considered a Top 5 choice in rookie-only drafts.
Andrew Hawkins
News
When the Browns signed diminutive receiver Andrew Hawkins in the offseason, he was viewed as a slot receiver and No. 3 option behind Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron, reports ESPN.com. Now Hawkins is Cleveland's leading receiver, on pace for a 1,000-yard season.

"I think he's proven to all of us he can be close to an every-down type of guy," coach Mike Pettine said.

Hawkins caught 12 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown over the past two weeks. He has 36 catches for 470 yards and one score through seven games.

Gary Barnidge
News
The loss of tight end Jordan Cameron to injury didn't hurt the Browns as much as it could have Sunday against New Orleans - thanks to backup Gary Barnidge.

Barnidge made one of the most critical catches of the game, a 10-yarder into Saints territory with 15 seconds remaining that led to the winning field goal. He finished by snagging all four of his targets for 41 yards. He will seek to further help his team's cause when it plays the Ravens in Week 3.

Eric Martin
News
The Browns unveiled a lengthy injury report for Week 6 against Pittsburgh. Wide receiver Rodney Smith (hamstring) and defensive lineman Phillip Taylor (knee) and Billy Winn (quad) have been officially ruled out for the game.

Deemed questionable were star cornerback Joe Haden (hip), linebacker Paul Kruger (back) and defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin (ankle).

Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant (wrist), tight end Jordan Cameron (ankle, shoulder), defensive back Tashaun Gipson (shoulder), offensive lineman John Greco (knee), linebacker Eric Martin (personal), defensive back Buster Skrine (thumb), running back Ben Tate (finger) and offensive lineman Joe Thomas (rest) have been all ruled probable for Sunday.

Ahtyba Rubin
News
After missing the previous two games with an ankle injury, Browns defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin is back in action Sunday against the Raiders. He has been cleared after receiving the probable designation.

Brian Hoyer
News
Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer was far from brilliant Sunday against Oakland, but what he did achieve was a rebound from his dud of a Week 7 in Jacksonville.

Hoyer completed 19 of 28 passes for 275 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the victory. He got rolling on a 48-yard screen to Taylor Gabriel midway through the first quarter before really finding his rhythm in the second, hitting on 5 of 7 for 75 yards.

He padded his numbers with a 32-yard pass to Andrew Hawkins on the last play of the third quarter and finally got his team in the end zone with a 4-yard touchdown strike to Hawkins off a rollout left early in the fourth.

Hoyer will seek to take his momentum and run with it next Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Desmond Bryant
News
As expected, Browns defensive end Desmond Bryant has been green-lighted for the Week 8 game against his former teammates from Oakland. He has been working through a wrist ailment.
Braxston Cave
News
The Redskins signed offensive lineman Tevita Stevens to the practice squad and released offensive lineman Braxston Cave from the squad.
Isaiah Crowell
News
Browns coach Mike Pettine explained Monday running back Isaiah Crowell was limited to three snaps on offense Sunday against the Raiders because he chose to give Ben Tate more work, especially late in the game, because of fumbling concerns with Crowell.

However, Pettine said in hindsight the team wanted to get Crowell more touches. The rushing attack struggled Sunday, totaling 39 rushing yards in a 23-13 win.

Sione Fua
News
The Browns announced they put defensive end Armonty Bryant (knee) on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Sione Fua. Fua was among the Broncos' final preseason cuts.
Jordan Cameron
News
Updating a previous report, Browns coach Mike Pettine told reporters tight end Jordan Cameron (concussion) has not been cleared and is not practicing Wednesday. The team earlier listed Cameron as limited.
Injury
Concussion - Left Week 8 vs. Oakland
Miles Austin

John Hughes
News
The Browns placed defensive end John Hughes on injured reserve/designated for return with a knee injury. He's not eligible to play for the next eight weeks.
Injury
Knee - IR. Designated for return
Karlos Dansby
News
Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby did a little bit of everything in a rare defeat of Pittsburgh on Sunday. He led both teams with 11 tackles, including five solos, registered one of the team's two sacks and added another tackle for a loss.
Rodney Smith

Injury
Hamstring - Missed Week 8 vs. Oakland
Joel Bitonio
News
With the No. 35 pick in the NFL Draft, the Browns selected offensive lineman Joel Bitonio from Nevada.

Bitonio is 6-foot-4, 302 pounds. He was a tackle in college, but he could also play guard for the Browns if needed.

Bitonio started his last 38 games, including 26 at right tackle and 12 at left tackle. According to one stats service, since the beginning of the 2012 season, he gave up only one quarterback pressure and two sacks and was penalized only five times through a span of 2,054 snaps.

He has the chance to compete for a starting job in training camp and could play left guard for the Browns this year.

Jordan Poyer

Michael Bowie
News
The Browns placed linebacker Darius Eubanks and offensive lineman Michael Bowie on injured reserve, ending their seasons. Both players had shoulder surgery this month.
Injury
Billy Cundiff
News
Browns placekicker Billy Cundiff did not miss Sunday. He prevented Cleveland drives from going for naught in the first half with field goal connections of 52, 33 and 26 yards. He added two extra points in the fourth quarter as his team pulled away for the defeat of Oakland.
Kevin Cone
News
The Buccaneers announced several roster moves on Monday, via the team's official website.

The team signed fullback Lonnie Pryor and defensive end George Uko to the practice squad. They also released wide receiver Kevin Cone and running back Jeff Demps.

Christian Tupou
News
The Cardinals signed defensive tackle Christian Tupou, running back Dominique Williams and receiver Kevin Cone to their practice squad.
Jacobbi McDaniel
News
The Browns waived defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel and re-signed tight end Gerell Robinson.
Andre Smith
News
Outside of A.J. Green and Rey Maualuga, the Bengals enter Week 8 at home against Baltimore relatively healthy despite having 14 players on the final injury report for Sunday's game. Green (toe) was ruled doubtful, while Rey Maualuga (hamstring) was officially ruled out. Brandon Thompson (knee) was limited in practice and questionable.

Meanwhile, the following players were labeled probable for the Bengals: Giovani Bernard (ribs), Kevin Brock (neck), Vontaze Burfict (neck), Robert Geathers (toe), Wallace Gilberry (eye), Leon Hall (back), Emmanuel Lamur (shoulder), Marshall Newhouse (back), Mike Pollak (knee) and Andre Smith (shoulder).

Injury
Christian Yount
News
The Browns have listed nine players on the injury report Week 1.

Both Paul McQuistan and John Hughes have been ruled out for the contest. Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant has been listed as doubtful.

The team did list five players as probable. Cornerbacks Pierre Desir, Joe Haden and Buster Skrine should all be good to go. So will safety Jim Leonhard, linebacker Eric Martin and long-snapper Christian Yount

Joe Thomas
