Vinston Painter
News
The battered Browns list three injured players on their inactive list for their Sunday game at Carolina, including Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder). Also hurt and out are fellow corner K'Waun Williams (hamstring) and tight end Gary Barnidge (rib).

The healthy scratches are wideout Rodney Smith , running back Glenn Winston and offensive linemen Vinston Painter and Andrew McDonald.

Phillip Taylor
News
The worst news for the Browns is that tight end Jordan Cameron (concussion) is out Sunday against Houston and could be done for the season, and defensive tackle Phillip Taylor (knee) is out for the year. But aside from special teams player Johnson Bademosi (concussion) being ruled out for the game against the Texans, the team is relatively healthy.

An exception could be safety Tashaun Gipson (concussion), who is questionable. The probables are defensive end Desmond Bryant (wrist), wideout Andrew Hawkins (thigh/knee), linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and defensive tackle Billy Winn (toe).

Injury
Knee - IR. Out for season
Travis Benjamin
News
Everyone was a minor contributor to the meager offensive display by the Browns on Sunday against the visiting Bengals. Among them were running backs Terrance West (5-23) and Isaiah Crowell (7-17), who added two catches for 10 yards.

No receiver aside from Josh Gordon caught more than two passes. Those who did snag at least one were Andrew Hawkins (2-7), Travis Benjamin (1-9), tight end Jordan Cameron (1-4) and Taylor Gabriel (1-2).

Garrett Hartley
News
Browns new placekicker Garrett Hartley received no opportunities upon his arrival in Week 15, but knocked down both chances Sunday at Carolina.

Hartley booted a 43-yarder to tie the game early in the second quarter and added a 31-yarder late in the third. He also nailed his lone extra point attempt.

Paul McQuistan
News
Browns coach Mike Pettine said Thursday offensive lineman John Greco will likely start at center and offensive lineman Paul McQuistan will start at right guard Week 7 at Jacksonville. The starting lineup along the offensive line is undergoing changes in the wake of center Alex Mack's leg injury.
Glenn Winston

Shaun Draughn
News
The Browns have signed running back Shaun Draughn, a source has told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Draughn has played in just one game this season with 19 yards on 10 carries. The Browns are looking for depth in the backfield after releasing Ben Tate and the struggles of rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell in Week 13 at Buffalo.

Kendall James
News
The Chargers have waived guard Jeff Baca from their active roster and cornerback Kendall James from their practice squad.

Baca was released by Dallas in mid-November and played in just one game for San Diego.

Paul Kruger
News
The Browns have cleared all their probables for the Sunday game against Indianapolis. That group includes linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and Paul Kruger (illness), as well as center Nick McDonald (ankle/knee).

Nick McDonald
News
The Browns have cleared all their probables for the Sunday game against Indianapolis. That group includes linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and Paul Kruger (illness), as well as center Nick McDonald (ankle/knee).

Spencer Lanning
News
Tight end Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is not the only Browns player listed as questionable for the Sunday game against Baltimore. Second-year linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) has received the same designation.

All the other Browns on their Friday injury report aside from shelved running back Ben Tate (knee) are probable. They are wide receiver Travis Benjamin (knee), defensive ends Desmond Bryant (wrist) and John Hughes (hamstring), punter Spencer Lanning (shoulder), offensive lineman Paul McQuistan (ankle) and cornerback Buster Skrine (thumb).

Josh Gordon
News
Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon hasn't been nearly the dynamic playmaker we expected since his return from suspension, as he put together yet another subpar performance in Week 16 against the Panthers.

Gordon had four receptions on seven targets to finish second on the team with 45 yards, but continues to disappoint Fantasy owners. Gordon, who was arguably the top receiver in the league a year ago, has just one 100-yard effort in five games, and has yet to find the end zone. Of course, it's not all Gordon's fault, as the Browns' quarterbacks have thrown just one touchdown in that time, compared to 10 interceptions.

Gordon made the most out of a bad quarterback situation last season too, but at some point, it is just too much to overcome. The Browns' quarterbacks have just 12 touchdowns to 15 interceptions on the season, production they almost have to improve on next season.

Gordon's upside remains tremendous, but it's awfully tough to rely on him heading into Week 17 against the Ravens. Owners in long-term Dynasty and keeper leagues shouldn't let five bad games with zero help from the quarterbacks dictate how they view him, however.

Robert Nelson
News
The Browns listed cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder) and linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee) as questionable for Sunday’s game at Carolina. Haden was able to practice Friday on a limited basis.

Also listed as questionable are Gary Barnidge (ribs), Marlon Moore (knee), Robert Nelson (hamstring) and Jabaal Sheard (foot).

The Browns ruled K’Waun Williams (hamstring) and Tashaun Gipson (knee) as out. Wide receiver Andrew Hawkins (illness) is the only player listed as probable.

The Browns are 3 ½ point underdogs to the Panthers.

John Greco
Calvin Barnett
News
Justin Gilbert
News
Mike Pettine has explained that Browns forgotten running back Terrance West and disappointing cornerback Justin Gilbert were not benched in Week 16 due to team rules violations.

He stated that both rookies had issues in practice and off the field, per the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.

West has lost his job as the featured back while Gilbert, the team's No. 8 overall draft pick, has been bypassed by undrafted rookies such as K'Waun Williams and Pierre Desir while being accused of a poor work ethic.

Chris Kirksey
News
Browns rookie linebacker Chris Kirksey managed a breakthrough game Sunday at Jacksonville despite the team's lopsided loss.

Kirksey led the team with a career-best seven solo tackles and registered one of their two sacks. It was his first sack since the season opener.

Donte Whitner
News
Mike Pettine has expressed good news on the injury and illness front for the Browns.

He said that linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee), who has missed the last three games, is on the verge of returning, and that safety Donte Whitner (illness) has returned to practice. Pettine added that tight end Gary Barnidge (ribs) is getting closer to a comeback and he's optimistic that free safety Tashaun Gipson (knee) will be back to game action at some point this season.

Johnson Bademosi
News
The Browns ruled Jordan Cameron (concussion) and Marlon Moore (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Karlos Dansby (knee) was the only player deemed doubtful, while Jabaal Sheard (foot) and Johnson Bademosi (concussion) were labeled questionable on Cleveland's final injury report for Week 12.

Meanwhile. the following players were ruled as probable: Barkevious Mingo (shoulder), Ahtyba Rubin (knee) and Desmond Bryant (wrist).

Tank Carder
News
The Browns list a whopping 16 players on their Friday injury report, but half are probable for the Week 17 battle in Pittsburgh, including All-Pro tackle Joe Thomas (back). The other offensive players among them are running back Willis McGahee (knee) and tackle Mitchell Schwartz (toe).

The four defensive probables are linebackers Paul Kruger (illness) and Tank Carder (shoulder), safety Jordan Poyer (toe) and safety T.J. Ward (shoulder, illness). Punter Spencer Lanning (knee) is also probable.

Keith Pough
News
The Browns have officially activated wide receiver Josh Gordon and added him to the 53-man active roster, per the team's official website. In a corresponding move, the team waived linebacker Keith Pough.

Gordon served a 10-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He was arguably one of the top wideouts of the 2013 season, racking up 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns. He'll make his season debut on Sunday against Atlanta.

Barkevious Mingo
News
Browns coach Mike Pettine told reporters on Tuesday he's unsure if linebacker Barkevious Mingo's shoulder will require offseason surgery, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. Mingo has played through the issue this season while wearing a harness on his shoulder.

Mingo has appeared in 12 games and registered 42 combined tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery.

K'Waun Williams
News
Browns cornerbacks Joe Haden (shoulder) and K'Waun Williams (hamstring) both returned to the practice field on Tuesday, per the Akron Beacon Journal. Both corners missed Sunday's loss to Carolina due to injuries.

Cleveland opened as a 7-point road underdog. The line has now moved to 9 points in favor of the Ravens in Week 17.

Injury
Hamstring - Missed Week 16 at Carolina
Taylor Gabriel
News
Rather than play a standout role, Browns wideout Josh Gordon merely led a small group of minor contributors to a Sunday loss against the host Panthers.

Gordon finished with four catches for 45 yards. Also chipping in were tight end Jim Dray and wideout Taylor Gabriel, both of whom caught just one short pass.

Jim Dray

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen
News
Browns defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin has been given the right light for Sunday action against the host Jaguars. He was deemed questionable with an ankle injury. This will mark his second straight missed game.

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen is set to start in his place.

Armonty Bryant
News
The Browns announced they put defensive end Armonty Bryant (knee) on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Sione Fua. Fua was among the Broncos' final preseason cuts.
Injury
Ryan Seymour
News
The Browns claimed two players off waivers from the 49ers: running back Glenn Winston and offensive lineman Ryan Seymour.
Billy Winn
News
Five key Browns players designated as probable for their Week 11 game against visiting Houston have received the thumbs-up for action. They are defensive linemen Billy Winn (toe) and Desmond Bryant (wrist), wideout Andrew Hawkins (thigh/knee), center Nick McDonald (calf) and linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder).
Alex Mack
News
The faint hopes that Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack could return from a broken leg at some point this season have died. He was placed Friday on season-ending IR.

Mack broke his leg in Cleveland's victory Sunday over Pittsburgh. He had never missed a snap in an NFL game.

Injury
Ray Agnew
News
With Johnny Manziel (hamstring) sidelined for the season finale and Brian Hoyer's (shoulder, bicep) status up in the air, the Browns signed quarterback Tyler Thigpen, according to CBSSports.com Jason La Canfora on Tuesday.

The team announced the move, waiving fullback Ray Agnew and signed defensive lineman Christian Tupou to the practice squad.

If Hoyer is unable to play, the Browns could turn to Connor Shaw Week 17 against Baltimore. According to La Canfora, Thigpen will be the No. 2 quarterback if Hoyer can't play.

Thigpen played with the Browns in the preseason before getting cut on Aug. 12. He has not made an appearance since 2012 with the Bills, and has not made a start since 2010 with the Dolphins.

Karim Barton
News
The Browns signed quarterback Connor Shaw, linebackers Justin Staples and Keith Pough, offensive linemen Patrick Lewis and Karim Barton, tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi and receiver Charles Johnson to their practice squad.
Joe Haden

Injury
Shoulder - Missed Week 16 at Carolina
Jim Leonhard
News
Despite having a strong season and landing a starting job in the absence of injured Donte Whitner, Browns safety Jim Leonhard has told the Akron Beacon Journal that he still plans on retiring at the end of the year.

The 32-year-old Leonhard contributed seven tackles, one interception and a sack Sunday in the loss to Indianapolis.

Craig Robertson
News
The Browns injury report for Week 15 against the Bears featured six players from the defensive side of the ball, all of whom were expected to take the field Sunday.  As expected, all six are active prior to kickoff: linebackers Tank Carder (shoulder), D'Qwell Jackson (ankle), Paul Kruger (elbow) and Craig Robertson (knee); defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin (calf); and defensive back T.J. Ward (shoulder).
Terrance West
News
Browns running back Terrance West didn't even touch the ball in Week 16 against the Panthers, as the coaching staff appears to have decided to ride Isaiah Crowell down the stretch.

West (153) still has more carries than Crowell, who is up to 144 after having 16 in Sunday's game. However, West has been less impressive throughout the season, and has been watching his role shrink lately, with single digits in carries in three of five games since the team cut Ben Tate. In that span, Crowell has carried the ball 66 times, compared to just 41 for West.

West was the more heralded of the two backs coming into their rookie seasons, but the third round pick has failed to impress. Crowell is easily the more valuable of the two for Week 17 against the Ravens, and should be viewed as the better option for keeper and Dynasty leagues as well.

Jabaal Sheard
News
Cornerback Joe Haden is the lone key questionable ruled out by the Browns for their Sunday game at Carolina. Linebacker Karlos Dansby (knee) returns after missing the last four games. Also given the green light is fellow linebacker Jabaal Sheard (foot).
Mitchell Schwartz
News
One of the reasons Johnny Manziel was such a spectacular player in college was because he was able to extend a play and throw to a big receiver down the field. Landing with the Browns is a total win for Johnny Football because he'll have Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Greg Little and Nate Burleson as down-field targets along with Andrew Hawkins as a quick, short-area weapon. Ben Tate rumbling in the backfield doesn't hurt either.

Another impressive factor is the Browns O-line, which has two studs in left tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack. If the line can improve from last season (we're looking at you, Mitchell Schwartz), then Manziel will have time to make good throws.

Of all the places he could have gone in the draft, Cleveland's the best fit. Not only should he inject life into the franchise but he should end up starting in Week 1 against the Steelers. Expect Manziel to get taken late in every single seasonal draft as a combo backup Fantasy QB/sleeper who could get some serious trade value. He'll get picked in the middle rounds in dynasty/keeper leagues and should be considered a Top 5 choice in rookie-only drafts.
Andrew Hawkins
News
Browns wideout Andrew Hawkins injured his thumb Sunday at Carolina and left with his hand in a splint, but said it was not broken, per the Akron Beacon Journal.

Hawkins managed just one catch for 28 yards and added two carries for seven yards in the loss. If he is unable to play next Sunday at Baltimore, he will have finished the season in a four-game slump in which he caught just nine passes for 93 yards.

Gary Barnidge

Injury
Rib - Missed Week 16 at Carolina
Andrew McDonald
News
The Browns claimed offensive tackle Andrew McDonald one day after he got waived by the Colts, reports Colts Insider.
Eric Martin
News
The Browns unveiled a lengthy injury report for Week 6 against Pittsburgh. Wide receiver Rodney Smith (hamstring) and defensive lineman Phillip Taylor (knee) and Billy Winn (quad) have been officially ruled out for the game.

Deemed questionable were star cornerback Joe Haden (hip), linebacker Paul Kruger (back) and defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin (ankle).

Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant (wrist), tight end Jordan Cameron (ankle, shoulder), defensive back Tashaun Gipson (shoulder), offensive lineman John Greco (knee), linebacker Eric Martin (personal), defensive back Buster Skrine (thumb), running back Ben Tate (finger) and offensive lineman Joe Thomas (rest) have been all ruled probable for Sunday.

Ahtyba Rubin
News
Three starting front seven players on the Browns have received good news for the Sunday game in Buffalo. Linebackers Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) and Jabaal Sheard (foot) and tackle Ahtyba Rubin (back) have all been given the thumbs-up for action. The latter two had been questionable while Mingo was probable.
Injury
Ankle - Left Week 16 at Carolina
Brian Hoyer
News
Browns coach Mike Pettine told reporters the quarterback situation is still unsettled because of Brian Hoyer's shoulder injury, per the Plain Dealer. In addition to the shoulder issue, Hoyer has a "badly bruised" bicep, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN on Tuesday.

Hoyer will not practice on Tuesday. The team will add Connor Shaw from the practice squad to the 53-man active roster. Shaw is expected to receive all first-team snaps until Hoyer is recovered.

"Brian Hoyer (shoulder) will rest today We don't know where we are at the QB position," Pettine said. "I don't know if Brian (Hoyer) can get to 100 percent. Connor Shaw will take all the reps today."

Cleveland opened as a 7-point road underdog. The line has now moved to 9 points in favor of the Ravens.

Injury
Shoulder - Questionable for Week 17 at Baltimore
Desmond Bryant
News
Browns defensive end Desmond Bryant has been green-lighted for the Week 15 clash against division rival Cincinnati. He had been regarded as probable with a thigh issue.

Braxston Cave
News
The Redskins signed offensive lineman Tevita Stevens to the practice squad and released offensive lineman Braxston Cave from the squad.
Jamie Meder
News
The Ravens are down to 53 players, thanks to a series of Saturday cuts.

The offensive players now gone are linemen Parker Graham, A.Q. Shipley and Ryan Jensen, tight end Phillip Supernaw, quarterback Keith Wenning and running back Fitzgerald Toussaint.

Those on defense include defensive backs Dominique Franks, Derek Cox, Tramain Jacobs and Sammy Seamster, linebacker John Simon and linemen Jamie Meder and A.J. Pataiali'i.

The team also placed wide receiver Jeremy Butler on injured reserve.

Isaiah Crowell
News
The Browns used rookie Isaiah Crowell as their lone featured back Sunday at Carolina and he did nothing spectacular aside from a 26-yard run over a huge role in the second quarter.

Crowell otherwise rushed for just 29 yards on 18 carries in finishing with 55 yards on 16 attempts. He was not targeted in the passing game.

He will try again when the Browns finish the regular season next Sunday against the host Ravens.

Sione Fua
News
The Browns announced they put defensive end Armonty Bryant (knee) on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Sione Fua. Fua was among the Broncos' final preseason cuts.
Jordan Cameron
News
Except for one play, Browns tight end Jordan Cameron struggled again Sunday in what has been a tough year.

But that one play was a beauty. Cameron got well behind the defense and snagged a bomb from Brian Hoyer, then sprinted into the end zone for an 81-yard touchdown five minutes into the fourth quarter to give his team a brief lead. He finished with three receptions for 87 yards.

It was the longest touchdown of his career. He will try to make more big plays next Sunday at Baltimore.

Miles Austin
News
Browns wide receiver Miles Austin, who lost the rest of the season to a lacerated kidney, does not plan on retiring and would like to remain with Cleveland in 2015, per the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Austin caught 47 passes this season - including 34 for first downs - fof 568 yards in 11 games before going down.

Injury
Kidney - IR. Out for season
John Hughes
News
The Browns placed defensive end John Hughes on injured reserve/designated for return with a knee injury. He's not eligible to play for the next eight weeks.
Injury
Knee - IR. Designated for return
Karlos Dansby
News
Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby had some choice words for troubled cornerback Justin Gilbert on Monday, according to the Plain Dealer on Monday. Gilbert was demoted on the depth chart by fourth-round pick Pierre Desir because of issues in practice and off the field.

"I don't know if he can make the transition," Dansby said. "It has to be within him. He has to look in the mirror and do that himself. I can only give him the keys. I can't make him drive."

Gilbert. the No. 8 overall selection in this year's draft out of Oklahoma State, has started only two of 14 games this season. He has totaled only 29 tackles and one interception while playing 375 snaps.

"It's tough man, it's tough," Dansby said. "It's not college. In college you have two or three years where you can play around. This is real life. Lot of people out here are fighting for jobs and fighting to feed their families. Justin is trying to make a transition and it's not easy, man, it's not easy. ... One of the hardest things to do at this level is be consistent.

"You'll have a guy come in and play two or three years and be out of the league and you'll never hear from him again. There are so many first-round picks that have done that. Second-round picks that came in for two or three years because they couldn't make the transition and were out of the league."

Manziel, who was declared out for Sunday's game against the Ravens with a significant hamstring injury, also said he has matured and will be extremely committed to the team in the offseason.

"It's been a year of growing up for me. This is a job for me now. I have to take this a lot more seriously," Manziel added.

He is expected to be ready for OTAs after rehabbing his injured hamstring. Manziel finished the season with 175 passing yards and a 42.0 quarterback rating. He also had two interceptions and one fumble lost.
