We’ll continue to discuss that today."

Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 9 of 12 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown and also rushed twice for 25 yards while leading two touchdown drives in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons.

Fitzpatrick couldn't get anything going in his first series but made several nice plays while supported by a strong running game in his second chance. He completed a 19-yard pass to DeAndre Hopkins to get his team to midfield, connected with rookie tight end C.J. Fiederowicz a few times before reaching the red zone and eventually scrambled for 10 yards and a first down on third-and-8.

After hitting the bench for most of the remainder of the first half, Fitzpatrick came back into the game to run the two-minute offense, leading the team 74 yards in 60 seconds and connecting with DeVier Posey on an eight-yard touchdown. It was a definite improvement from his first preseason action against the Cardinals.

Case Keenum
News
Texans coach Bill O'Brien did not rule out a change in the quarterback rotation when asked about it Sunday, reports Pro Football Talk. Starter Ryan Fitzpatrick went 6 of 14 for 55 yards with two interceptions in Saturday's 32-0 loss to Arizona, while backups Case Keenum and Tom Savage combined to go 5 of 8 for 43 yards.

"I think you’re always thinking about what you can do to make the team better," O’Brien said. "So any time you have a chance to review things and regroup a little bit on a day off like it is today, as a head coach, you’re always thinking about things that can make the team better, whether that’s a change in the depth chart, a change in a scheme, a change of a position of a player, whatever it may be. We’ll continue to discuss that today."

Jonathan Grimes
News
Texans running back Jonathan Grimes led his team in rushing Saturday, gaining 42 yards on nine carries and catching three passes for 25 yards in his team's 32-7 preseason win over the Falcons.

Grimes is the favorite to open the season as Arian Foster's direct backup, and though he started off slow Saturday, he broke off a 22-yard run in the second quarter that was Foster-esque for his balance and cutback ability. Grimes mixed in with rookie Alfred Blue throughout the first half, giving the team a good look at the presumed depth chart behind Foster this season.
