The Texans finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing receiver Alan Bonner (hamstring), tackle Brennan Williams (knee), and linebacker Trevardo Williams (knee) on injured reserve. Houston also released defensive lineman Daniel Muir, defensive tackle David Hunter and receiver Michael Smith with an injury settlement.

In addition, the Texans waived the following 18 players from the roster: defensive end Keith Browner, tight end Jake Byrne, cornerback Roc Carmichael, fullback Tyler Clutts, linebacker Cameron Collins, receiver Andy Cruse, offensive lineman Tyler Horn, defensive end Delano Johnson, running back Dennis Johnson, safety Orhian Johnson, defensive tackle Chris Jones, running back Deji Karim, offensive lineman Alex Kupper, cornerback Elbert Mack, tackle Nate Menkin, linebacker Mike Mohamed, receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu and safety Jawanza Starling.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien told reporters Monday that rookie quarterback Tom Savage will not start Week 16 against Baltimore because of a knee injury, per the team's official website. According to the Houston Chronicle, Savage may miss the final two games of the season.

Savage relieved Ryan Fitzpatrick (broken tibia) and sustained the injury on the penultimate play of Sunday's loss to Indianapolis. He completed 10 of his 19 passes for 127 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

Savage underwent an MRI on his knee after the game, but O'Brien did not reveal the results of his exam. The Texans will now turn to Thad Lewis or newly-signed Case Keenum to start against the Ravens.

The Texans added some more size to their line with the first pick in the sixth round, selecting defensive lineman Jeoffrey Pagan out of the University of Alabama 177th overall.

Pagan is a 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman who played three seasons at Alabama, racking up 60 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.

Texans backup quarterback Thad Lewis told the Houston Chronicle Monday he has "no question" he can be ready to start Week 16 against the Ravens, if needed.

"I actually don’t know anything," Lewis said. "I'm like you guys, just waiting and trying to find out. You can only control what you can control. I'm just trying to be ready and whatever the coach's decision, just roll with that."

Lewis was signed to the 53-man active roster on Nov. 26, when Ryan Mallett landed on injured reserve with a torn pectoral muscle. He was the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart entering Sunday's game against Indianapolis before Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a broken leg. Second-stringer Tom Savage took over for Fitzpatrick but hyper-extended his knee on the penultimate play of the game. He is expected to undergo an MRI. The team also signed Case Keenum following Fitzpatrick's injury.

The Texans have listed 13 players on its final injury report leading up to Week 9 against Philadelphia. Jeff Tarpinian (knee) was the only player on the list ruled out for the game. Jadeveon Clowney (knee, illness), Brian Cushing (knee) and Darryl Morris (ankle) were all deemed questionable.

The Texans announced that Tom Savage will miss Week 16 against the Ravens due to a knee injury he suffered on the penultimate play of Sunday's loss against the Colts. The loss of Savage, Ryan Fitzpatrick (broken tibia) and Ryan Mallett (pectoral) means that the starting job will come down to Thad Lewis and newly-signed Case Keenum, coach Bill O'Brien told reporters, per the team's official website.

Despite not practicing during the week, Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will play Sunday against the Ravens.

Hopkins has been suffering from an ankle injury, but has not missed a game this season while catching 69 passes for 1,167 yards and six touchdowns.

The Texans got contributions from several role players in Monday's 30-23 loss at Pittsburgh. Backup running back Alfred Blue ran five times for 14 yards and took a dumpoff pass 11 yards for his first career touchdown.

Tight end Garrett Graham caught two of three targets for 24 yards, and wideout Damaris Johnson had a 15-yard reception and a bad drop. Tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz hauled in a 9-yard pass, while receiver Keshawn Martin added a 5-yard grab.

They'll all visit the Titans in Week 8.

The Texans got a bunch of offensive contributions in their Week 13 blowout of Tennessee. Wideout Keshawn Martin made a 32-yard catch, tight end Ryan Griffin caught a wide-open swing pass for an 8-yard touchdown and defensive end J.J. Watt hauled in a 1-yard touchdown -- his fifth score this season.

Running back Jonathan Grimes gained 13 yards on five carries, and running back Alfred Blue added 6 yards on seven carries.

They'll all visit the Jaguars in Week 14.

If he remains sidelined in Week 17, he will finish the season with just 18 catches for 197 yards.

The Texans have signed wide receiver Jace Davis to their practice squad. The rookie had been with Baltimore and has yet to play a game in 2014.

Arian Foster took direct snaps out of the Wildcat formation and completed a touchdown pass to help lead the Texans to a 25-13 win over the Ravens Week 16.

With the Texans down to their third starting quarterback of the season, Foster lined up at quarterback twice for Houston during the team's first offensive series of the game. Foster’s lone touchdown of the game came on a 5-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Fiedorowicz in the second quarter.

Foster also added 96 rushing yards on 25 attempts. He was targeted four times in the passing game, but only caught one pass for 24 yards.

The Texans host the Jaguars Week 17.

Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson became the 10th player in NFL history to record 1,000 catches in his career during the Texans’ 25-13 win over the Ravens Sunday.

Texans running back Alfred Blue totaled just 15 rushing yards on nine carries Sunday against the Jaguars, but he did have a rushing touchdown in a 27-13 win. It was the first rushing touchdown of his career.

With a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter Week 14, Blue became the only player in Texans history to have a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown and return touchdown in the same season.

The Texans are back in action Week 15 at Indianapolis.

With the Texans starting their third quarterback of the season, the team relied heavily on kicker Randy Bullock during the Texans’ 25-13 win over the Ravens Week 16.

Bullock set a franchise record by converting all six of his field goal attempts. Bullock converted from 35, 25, 30, 20, 39 and 33 yards. He also made his lone extra point attempt. Before converting all six field goals, Bullock had never made more than three field goals in any game during his career.

Wideout Keshawn Martin made a 32-yard catch, tight end Ryan Griffin caught a wide-open swing pass for an 8-yard touchdown and defensive end J.J. Running back Jonathan Grimes gained 13 yards on five carries, and running back Alfred Blue added 6 yards on seven carries.

Making his first start of the season, Texans quarterback Case Keenum did just enough to help lead the Texans to a 25-13 win over the Ravens Sunday.

Keenum was the third quarterback to start for the Texans this season and he completed 20 of his 42 pass attempts for 185 yards. It was his first start since Dec. 15, 2013.

Keenum did not throw a touchdown pass and made an errant throw which was intercepted by Darian Stewart in the first quarter. He also rushed for 19 yards on four carries.

Texans rookie outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney had microfracture surgery on his right knee and is expected to be sidelined nine months, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Dr. Walter Lowe, the Texans' doctor, performed the surgery Monday, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Clowney played in just four games, making seven tackles, after being drafted No. 1 overall.

The team said Dr. James Andrews examined Clowney and confirmed the need for microfracture surgery, the paper reported. Clowney's timetable puts him in jeopardy of missing the 2015 season opener.

Texans offensive lineman David Quessenberry was diagnosed with lymphoma, the team announced Tuesday.

Quessenberry "experienced fatigue and a persistent cough" over the past week, went for a diagnosis and has been placed under the care of M.D. Anderson hopsital. The offensive lineman, drafted in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of San Jose State, was placed on the Non-Football Injury list.

"Our medical community here in Houston is the best in the world," general manager Rick Smith said in a statement. "We are extremely confident in the care and treatment David will receive. He is a fighter and a courageous young man and we look forward to his full and complete recovery. We will continue to support him and his family and look forward to his return to the team."

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt six tackles, two sacks and one pass defensed in his team's 17-10 loss to the Colts in Week 15.

The Texans have played each of the other teams in their division over the last three weeks, and Watt has posted multiple sacks in each of those games and seven sacks in all during that stretch. His sack total is up to 16.5 on the season with matchups against the Ravens (Week 16) and Jaguars (Week 17) remaining on the schedule. He had three sacks against the Jaguars in Week 14, so a 20-sack season is certainly in play.
