The report says Sanders has an edge on Tandon Doss, and Hurns, an undrafted free agent, was one of the biggest surprises of the offseason and makes the team if he can stay on the field. Brown also earns a spot because his reliability gives him the advantage.

News
Jaguars running back Jordan Todman, tight end Clay Harbor, wide receiver Kerry Taylor and fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou all had minor contributions during a 27-14 loss Week 11 vs. Arizona.

Hood started seven of 16 games with the Steelers last year after starting every game for them in 2012.

Cecil Shorts
News
Gus Bradley has announced that a hamstring injury will keep Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts sidelined for several weeks. That could keep him out of at least two preseason games.

Ricky Stanzi
News
The Jaguars plan to ease in rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, but he would be next in line if Chad Henne got hurt, reports the Florida Times-Union.

The report says it's "a guarantee" Bortles would be next in line if Henne was injured even though the Jaguars don't want to rush Bortles into action. Ricky Stanzi would be the only other quarterback candidate if Henne got hurt.

Bryan Anger
News
Jaguars backup rushers Denard Robinson, Will Ta'ufo'ou and Justin Forsett failed to do much against the Broncos Week 6.

Fisch also mentioned rookie Storm Johnson but seemed to classify him as a backup to Gerhart.

News
Jaguars S Josh Evans, LB Geno Hayes, DT Roy Miller, OL Uche Nwaneri, OL Austin Pasztor, S Chris Prosinski, K Josh Scobee and RB Jordan Todman are active Week 15 against the Bills.

With Maurice Jones-Drew inactive, Todman should see the majority of the work at running back. Scobee is dealing with a hip injury, but should be good to kick.

News
Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien is looking forward to improving in his second year in 2014, reports the Florida Times-Union.

"I'm no longer a rookie; I want to lift my game for the entire team and bring a new energy to the group," he said.

Cyprien felt he improved during the second half of the season. Aside from the one game he missed with a thigh bruise, he played every snap in his 15 games.

"I believe I did – things slowed down and things came to me and I was able to make more plays and be a better contributor to the team," he said. "It was just the growing process. That's very standard because with the learning curve, I had to start from somewhere."

Allen Robinson
News
Jaguars rookie receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson, who missed much of the offseason program with injuries, "should be on the field in close to full-go capacity" when the team opens camp Friday, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Lee was battling an ankle injury, while Robinson had a hamstring problem. Both second-round picks are viewed as immediate contributors.

"I’m ready,” Robinson said Tuesday following an on-field workout with quarterbacks and rookies. "That was my goal in the offseason, to get as ready as possible for the start of camp.

"I think me and the trainers have a good game plan going into that, and I feel like I did it pretty well. I feel good. I feel ready. We practice Friday and I’m cleared to go. You’ve always got to be smart and take care of your body, but as far as on-field stuff, I’m ready to go."

Lee also practiced Tuesday.

"Everything’s good," he said. "I’m pretty much cleared. They still want me to take it slow as far as right now. During camp, that’s when I pick it up. We’ve got a while before we actually put on pads, so by that time pads come on, I should be OK."

Chad Henne
News
Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne said he has the green light from offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch to audible as much as he wants to, reports the Florida Times-Union.

Henne said he has a better grasp of the offense in Year 2.

"Jedd has been putting a lot in our shoulders, more audibles, but it’s really just taking ownership of it. If I see something out there and I check out of something, he gets excited. It’s exciting for us because it shows him that we’re understanding the defense, understanding the offense and getting in the best plays that will work," Henne said.
