News
Even though Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis is slated to earn $6.7 million in salary this season, he is expected to return to the team, reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora.

The report says the thought around the league is the team will cut Lewis, but LaCanfora reports "I'm told he will be back."

Lewis had 25 catches for 359 yards and four touchdowns in 2013.

Jaguars rookie receiver Marqise Lee might be held out of all four OTAs next week with his lingering ankle injury, reports the Florida Times-Union. He missed his third straight practice Thursday.

"I could be ready to go late next week, but they're trying to sit me down and rest me for the most part," Lee told the paper. "They don't want to rush me back. They're thinking long-term, so they want me to really chill and relax."

Lee vowed he'll be ready for training camp, which opens July 24.

Tandon Doss
News
The Jaguars are expected to go with Cecil Shorts, Allen Robinson, Marqise Lee, Mike Brown, Allen Hurns and Ace Sanders as their receivers this season, reports the Florida Times-Union.

The report says Sanders has an edge on Tandon Doss, and Hurns, an undrafted free agent, was one of the biggest surprises of the offseason and makes the team if he can stay on the field. Brown also earns a spot because his reliability gives him the advantage.

Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny is active Week 17.

Posluszny came into the week with a groin injury. He was able to improve from limited practice Thursday to full practice Friday.

Entering his 11th season, Clemons posted 4.5 sacks for the Seahawks last year with 24 total tackles in 14 games. He had previously posted at least 11 sacks in three consecutive years with Seattle. He will reunite with ex-Seahawks defensive boss Gus Bradley in Jacksonville.

Storm Johnson
News
Jaguars rookie running back Storm Johnson is focusing more on special teams than worrying about his role on the depth chart behind Toby Gerhart, reports the Florida Times-Union.

Johnson is expected to be No. 4 behind Gerhart, Jordan Todman and Denard Robinson, but he's OK with that.

"I'm happy to help my team any way I can – kickoff return, punt coverage, punt return, whatever," said Johnson, a University of Central Florida product, who was drafted in the seventh round. "I'm just trying to get my foot in the door."

Johnson ran for 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns last season for UCF.

Justin Blackmon
News
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley doesn't sound optimistic about receiver Justin Blackmon returning to the NFL any time soon, reports the Florida Times-Union. Blackmon, suspended indefinitely last November under the league's substance abuse policy, hasn't responded to some messages left by teammates.

"I feel at times there’s probably a little emptiness," Bradley told the paper. "There are some unknowns there and you don’t know how it’s working. You don’t want to shut it off. We haven’t heard much and it doesn’t sound like it’s going in the right direction. ... We can’t count on him."

The Jaguars don’t expect Blackmon to be reinstated in 2014, so they drafted two receivers in the second round.

Injury
Suspension - Suspended indefinitely. Might miss at least half of the season

Jordan Todman
News
Jordan Todman, the Jaguars' No. 2 running back, figures to get the first shot at returning kickoffs, reports the Florida Times-Union. Todman returned 26 kicks for a 27.4-yard average last year, incuding a 59-yarder.

Todman was one of seven Jaguars to return a kickoff last year, though he quickly won the job and helped Jacksonville rank third in kick return average.

Allen Hurns

Will Ta'ufo'ou
News
Jaguars running back Jordan Todman, tight end Clay Harbor, wide receiver Kerry Taylor and fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou all had minor contributions during a 27-14 loss Week 11 vs. Arizona.

Todman totaled 9 rushing yards on two carries, while adding one catch for minus-5 yards.

Harbor was targeted five times, finishing with three catches for 32 yards. His longest reception went 21 yards.

Taylor was also targeted five times, totaling two catches for 20 yards. His longest catch went 15 yards.

Ta'ufo'ou had one catch for 5 yards.

The Jaguars are back in action Week 12 at Houston.

LaRoy Reynolds
News
The Jaguars had two open roster spots heading into Week 15 against the Bills, but were able to fill them internally. The Florida Times-Union reports the Jaguars activated linebacker LaRoy Reynolds from the suspended list, and brought back Allen Reisner (knee) from injured reserve Saturday.
Ziggy Hood
News
The Jaguars have signed defensive tackle Ziggy Hood according to the Florida Times-Union. Hood will likely work in a rotation along the D-line.

Hood started seven of 16 games with the Steelers last year after starting every game for them in 2012.

Cecil Shorts
News
Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts will not take part in this week's minicamp, reports the team's official website.

Coach Gus Bradley said Tuesday that Shorts will be out all week. He was bothered with a calf injury during OTA workouts.

Injury
Calf - Questionable for start of training camp
Dwayne Gratz
News
The Jaguars have made QB Ricky Stanzi, CB Dwayne Gratz, RB Delone Carter, LB Geno Hayes, TE Allen Reisner, OL Patrick Lewis and DE Gerald Rivers inactive Week 17.

Both Hayes and Gratz were ruled out prior to Sunday. The other five players were not listed on the injury report, and are healthy scratches.

Ricky Stanzi
News
The Jaguars plan to ease in rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, but he would be next in line if Chad Henne got hurt, reports the Florida Times-Union.

The report says it's "a guarantee" Bortles would be next in line if Henne was injured even though the Jaguars don't want to rush Bortles into action. Ricky Stanzi would be the only other quarterback candidate if Henne got hurt.

Bryan Anger
News
Jaguars backup rushers Denard Robinson, Will Ta'ufo'ou and Justin Forsett failed to do much against the Broncos Week 6.

Robinson picked up 1 carry for 2 yards. Ta'ufo'ou didn't fare much better, picking up 1 yard on the ground and 5 yards in the air. Forsett rushed once for no gain, but did have 18 yards on 3 catches. Even punter Bryan Anger got in on the action, but failed to pick up any yards on his only attempt.

They'll take on the Chargers Week 7.

Denard Robinson
News
Jaguars running back Denard Robinson dropped only one pass in nine OTAs and three days of minicamp, reports ESPN.com, which expects Robinson to have a much bigger role in 2014. Robinson is a dangerous open-field runner who will be a "significant part of the offense" if he continues to build on his impressive offseason, the report said.
John Lotulelei
News
Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny was ruled inactive Week 11 vs. Arizona because of a concussion. Posluszny, who came in as questionable, was replaced in the starting lineup by Russell Allen, who was replaced by John Lotulelei at outside linebacker.
Geno Hayes
News
Jaguars outside linebacker Geno Hayes has been fully cleared following offseason knee surgery, reports the Florida Times-Union. Hayes, who had 78 tackles in 14 games, suffered the injury late last season.

"We did it the smart way instead of trying to push it and then going back to square one," Hayes said. "Right now, it’s doing well and I’ve been able to run and cut without any problems."

Allen Bradford
News
The Giants cut quarterback Rusty Smith and waived linebacker Allen Bradford, cornerback Junior Mertile and punter Jordan Gay.

Toby Gerhart
News
The Jaguars continue to sound committed to Toby Gerhart as their primary running back. General manager Dave Caldwell told USA Today about scouting Gerhart when he was coming into the NFL four years ago, and how coaches on his staff now were frustrated gameplanning against him in the NFC North. The message from the top of the organization on down is that Gerhart will try to emulate Marshawn Lynch's 'Beast Mode' style of running with the Jaguars.

"Knowing he was going to have to pass protect, catch the ball out of the backfield and get tough yardage, he was a really good fit for us," Caldwell said of why they recruited him in free agency this offseason. "He'll get the bulk of the carries and he'll be a great asset."

Luke Joeckel
News
Jaguars tackle Luke Joeckel underwent successful ankle surgery on Wednesday morning, the team has announced. The second overall pick in the 2013 draft is done for the year.
Sam Young
News
The Jaguars have re-signed offensive tackle Sam Young, reports the team's official website.

Young will compete for a roster spot in training camp.

Josh Wells

Michael Brewster
News
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley revealed Monday offensive guard Michael Brewster will miss the final two games of the season with a fractured ankle. Brewster was injured in Sunday's game against the Bills.
Telvin Smith
News
With the 144th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected outside linebacker Telvin Smith from Florida State.

Standing at 6-foot-3, 218 pounds, Smith is a rangy linebacker that has the versatility to convert to strong safety, if needed. He led FSU with 90 tackles with two sacks and three interceptions in 2013.
Tyson Alualu
News
Jaguars defensive end Tyson Alualu (elbow), cornerback Alan Ball (ankle), defensive end Andre Branch (neck), defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks (ankle) and defensive tackle Roy Miller (shoulder) were all cleared to play Week 11 vs. Arizona. All five players were listed as probable.
Stephen Morris
No Updates
Will Blackmon
News
The Jaguars announced the re-signing of defensive back Will Blackmon Tuesday, shortly after the open of free agency. Blackmon's deal is for two years, though the team did not announce financial terms for the 29-year-old.

Blackmon finished the 2013 season with 40 tackles, one interception and 10 passes defended in 15 games.

Jamell Fleming
News
The Jaguars have released an inactive list Sunday that includes injured wide receiver Stephen Burton (concussion) and running back Justin Forsett (foot).

The healthy inactives are wide receiver Jeremy Ebert, cornerback Jamell Fleming, defensive tackle Jeremy Mincey, quarterback Ricky Stanzi and guard Jacques McClendon.

Sherrod Martin
News
The Panthers placed safety Sherrod Martin (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Mike Brown
News
Jaguars receiver Mike Brown is no lock to make the roster, reports the Florida Times-Union. The top three wideouts are Cecil Shorts and second-round picks Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson. Brown will vie with Ace Sanders, Kerry Taylor and at least two rookies for the final three spots.

Last year, Brown missed four games with a broken bone in his back and finished with 32 catches for 446 yards and two touchdowns.

Nathan Slaughter
No Updates
Winston Guy
News
Jaguars defensive back Winston Guy had his best game of the season Thursday, in a 27-20 win over the Texans in Week 14. Guy racked up eight tackles to finish third on the team, and nearly matching his total for the season.

Guy entered the game with just nine tackles in the first 10 games of his career.

Brandon Barden
News
The Titans have reported that they have pared down their roster by 10 players. Included are defensive tackles Zach Clayton and DaJohn Harris, safety Al Afalava, tackle Daniel Baldridge, tight end Brandon Barden (injured), linebacker Gary Guyton, defensive end Nigel Nicholas, running back Jalen Parmele, guard Kasey Studdard and wide receiver Dontel Watkins.

Guyton and Studdard boast some experience. The former was a part-time starter for Green Bay from 2009 to 2011 while the latter played extensively with Houston in 2009.

The Titans will make more cuts on Saturday.

Chris Prosinski
News
Jaguars S Josh Evans, LB Geno Hayes, DT Roy Miller, OL Uche Nwaneri, OL Austin Pasztor, S Chris Prosinski, K Josh Scobee and RB Jordan Todman are active Week 15 against the Bills.

With Maurice Jones-Drew inactive, Todman should see the majority of the work at running back. Scobee is dealing with a hip injury, but should be good to kick.

Johnathan Cyprien
News
Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien is looking forward to improving in his second year in 2014, reports the Florida Times-Union.

Cyprien will spend the next few months in Miami, "working on my strengths and weaknesses," before returning to the Jacksonville area for the Jaguars' offseason program.

"I'm no longer a rookie; I want to lift my game for the entire team and bring a new energy to the group," he said.

Cyprien felt he improved during the second half of the season. Aside from the one game he missed with a thigh bruise, he played every snap in his 15 games.

"I believe I did – things slowed down and things came to me and I was able to make more plays and be a better contributor to the team," he said. "It was just the growing process. That's very standard because with the learning curve, I had to start from somewhere."

Ace Sanders
News
Jaguars receiver Ace Sanders could be on the roster bubble, reports the Florida Times-Union.

The report says "it wouldn't be a shock because 5-foot-7 players who don't make guys miss don't have a ton of value."

Sanders, entering his second year in the NFL, had 51 catches for 484 yards and one touchdown as a rookie in 2013. But the Jaguars added rookies Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee this offseason, which could make it hard for Sanders to get playing time even if he makes the final roster.

Injury
Undisclosed - Probable for start of training camp
Jacques McClendon
News
The Jaguars inactive list for Week 14 against the Texans doesn't feature much in the way of surprises, as running back Justin Forsett (foot), defensive back Josh Evans (shoulder) and wide receiver Stephen Burton (concussion) were all ruled out prior to the game.

Those three were joined on the sidelines by quarterback Ricky Stanzi, guard Jacques McClendon, wide receiver Jeremy Ebert and defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick

News
Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee was held in check Week 17 against Indianapolis.

Scobee hit a 37 yard field goal in the second quarter, but did not receive any other opportunites. He had one extra point attempt. Jacksonville only scored 10 points, so Scobee was not much of a factor.
