Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos totaled 10 points during a 34-7 win Week 8 vs. St. Louis. Santos made a 53-yard field goal in the second quarter, a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter and four extra points in the win.

The 53-yarder was a career long for the rookie kicker. It was also his first career attempt of 50-plus yards.

Santos has totaled 10 or more points in three of his last four games. The Chiefs are back in action Week 9 vs. N.Y. Jets.

Albert Wilson
News

Mike Catapano
News
The Chiefs moved defensive end Mike Catapano, who has been out for a month with an undisclosed illness, from the reserve/non-football illness list to injured reserve, according to The Kansas City Star.

"I think that’s where we’re at," head coach Andy Reid said. "What he went through, that was a long process. So it’s better that he just steps back, gets himself back healthy and feeling good and then we go from there."

Illness - IR. Out for season
Jeff Allen
News
The Chiefs signed defensive back Jamell Fleming from the Ravens' practice squad Friday, to take the place of Jeff Allen on the active roster. Allen was placed on injured reserve following elbow surgery.
Injury
Ron Parker
News
Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali is officially active for Saturday's Wild Card round game against the Colts, despite being listed as questionable on the injury report with a knee injury. Hali sat out the team's final regular season game as a result of the injury as well.

Hali is joined on the field by fellow injured linebacker Justin Houston (elbow) and defensive back Ron Parker (finger, ankle), both of whom were considered probable for the game.

Junior Hemingway
News
The Chiefs have labeled wide receiver Donnie Avery (groin) and cornerback Chris Owens (knee) out for Sunday's Week 8 clash against the Rams.

Junior Hemingway (hamstring) was the only player listed on the final injury report as questionable. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce (ribs), Sean Smith (groin), Cyrus Gray (hand) and Justin Houston (ankle) were all full participants in Friday's practice and were officially deemed probable.

On the play, he stiff-armed safety Antoine Bethea and tightroped the sideline. Thomas also returned two punts for 38 yards. He's on a bye Week 6.

Kevin Vickerson
News
Contrary to earlier reports that had Kevin Vickerson signing with Cincinnati, the 31-year-old defensive lineman signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs, reports Pro Football Talk. Vickerson played in 11 games for the Broncos last year, recording 22 tackles, a sack and two passes defended.

Cyrus Gray

Zach Fulton
News
The Chiefs signed rookie guard Zach Fulton to a four-year deal on Tuesday. He's expected to compete for playing time in camp this summer.
Jamaal Charles
News
Though he was the consensus No. 1 overall pick in Fantasy coming into the season, an early injury combined with the stellar play of DeMarco Murray, Matt Forte and Arian Foster has made Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles a bit of an afterthought as far as stud running backs go.

He wasn't letting anybody forget about him Week 8 against St. Louis, delivering two touchdowns for his second multi-score game in four. And he showed he's still a factor in the passing game as well, making four grabs for 44 yards, both season highs.

Though he struggled to get going with just eight carries for 14 yards in the first half, he put the game away in the third and fourth quarters, making him just a spectator for most of the latter. He has averaged 85.0 rushing yards over his last four games despite getting 20 carries in only one of them.

And don't worry about Knile Davis cutting into Charles' playing time. He may have had the more carries of the two in Week 8, but only because the Chiefs were up big. All but three of Davis' carries came after Charles' final carry early in the fourth quarter.

Deji Olatoye
News
The Chiefs signed rookie defensive back Deji Olatoye to their practice squad. He was waived by the Ravens in late August.
Charcandrick West
News
The Chiefs have announced their final round of cuts and other moves to reach the league-mandated roster of 53 players.

Among the offensive players let go are fullback Jordan Campbell, wide receivers Fred Williams and Mark Harrison, guard Ricky Henry, tackle J'Marcus Webb and running back Charcandrick West.

The defensive players gone from the roster are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Malcolm Bronson, linemen Dominique Hamilton, Kyle Love and Kona Schwenke, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith, Devan Walker and Nico Johnson and cornerbacks Justin Rogers and DeMarcus Van Dyke .

The Chiefs have also placed Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams on IR and Mike Catapano on the non-football injury list.

Damion Square
News
Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery, safety Eric Berry, cornerback Chris Owens, quarterback Aaron Murray, center Eric Kush, offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square were all ruled inactive Week 8 vs. St. Louis.
Sean Smith

Aaron Murray
News
Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery, safety Eric Berry, cornerback Chris Owens, quarterback Aaron Murray, center Eric Kush, offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square were all ruled inactive Week 8 vs. St. Louis.
Mike McGlynn
News
The Chiefs signed offensive lineman Mike McGlynn, who was released by the Redskins on Tuesday.
Jaye Howard
News
Among the seven players inactive for the Chiefs in Week 16 against the Colts, only three are out as a result of injuries. Tackle Branden Albert (knee) is joined on the sidelines by linebackers Justin Houston (elbow) and Nico Johnson (ankle).

Additionally, offensive linemen Rishaw Johnson and Eric Kush, quarterback Tyler Bray, and defensive lineman Jaye Howard are all out of uniform Sunday.

Dee Ford
News
When the Chiefs drafted Dee Ford , they took a player at a position they already have two established studs at. Tamba Hali and Justin Houston both play outside linebacker for the Chiefs, precisely the position Ford will play now that he's on their team.

Coach Andy Reid envisions using Ford as part of a rotation, which isn't a bad way to ease him into professional football. But it stings Fantasy owners because he won't play every down unless something happens to either Hali or Houston. The double whammy is that he'll play outside linebacker instead of defensive end, which means he'll post numbers that aren't as good as other linebackers in the league. Throw in a back injury that had doctors nervous at the combine and it makes for a challenging situation.

For these reasons, Ford shouldn't be touched in seasonal Fantasy play and has only mild appeal in dynasty/keeper leagues as a late-round pick. Owners in rookie-only drafts might consider Ford with a mid- to late-round pick since they'd aim for using him over the long haul.

Eric Kush
News
Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery, safety Eric Berry, cornerback Chris Owens, quarterback Aaron Murray, center Eric Kush, offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square were all ruled inactive Week 8 vs. St. Louis.
Frank Zombo
News
Several Chiefs who were on the injury report are active for the game at San Francisco. They include linebackers Tamba Hali (knee) and Frank Zombo (hamstring), cornerbacks Sean Smith (groin) and Marcus Cooper (knee), and running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring).
Dontari Poe
News
Running back Jamaal Charles is among the Chiefs honored as All-Pros by Associated Press. Safety Eric Berry is a first-teamer as well. Second-team teammates are defensive tackle Dontari Poe, outside linebacker Tamba Hali and kick returner Dexter McCluster.
Demetrius Harris
News
The Chiefs backup pass catchers couldn't do much Week 2 against the Broncos.

Anthony Fasano was the most impressive of the bunch, hauling in three passes for 39 yards. Junior Hemingway caught 2 passes for 21 yards during the outing. Both A.J. Jenkins and Donnie Avery each caught three balls, but gained 16 and 14 yards respectively.

Tight end Demetrius Harris pulled in one ball for 10 yards. Running back Cyrus Gray didn't have any catches, but carried the ball twice for 8 yards.

They'll take on the Dolphins Week 3.

Dwayne Bowe
News
Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe totaled a team-high 64 receiving yards during a 34-7 win Week 8 vs. St. Louis. He caught all six of his targets and his longest catch went 16 yards.

Still, Bowe doesn't have a 100-yard game or touchdown in six outings this season. He has managed at least 60 receiving yards in three of his last four games. The six catches were a season high.

The Chiefs are back in action Week 9 against the Jets.

Daniel Sorensen
News
The Chiefs placed linebacker Derrick Johnson (Achilles) and defensive end Mike DeVito (Achilles) on injured reserve and waived defensive back Daniel Sorenson. Kansas City elevated linebacker Jerry Franklin from the practice squad.
Knile Davis
News
Chiefs backup running back Knile Davis didn't play much of the first three quarters Week 8 against St. Louis, but after starter Jamaal Charles left early in the fourth quarter with his team up big, Davis reminded everyone he's a serviceable fill-in should the need for one arise. He ran 16 times for 49 yards and scored a touchdown on a 3-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

Though he didn't have many yards per carry, 13 of his carries came with Charles out of the game in an obvious run-out-the-clock scenario. He showed his big-play ability with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown earlier in the contest.

Again, Davis normally won't get so much playing time unless Charles goes down with another injury, but between this performance and what he did in Weeks 2-4, he deserves to be owned in all Fantasy leagues just for that possibility.

James-Michael Johnson
News
The Chiefs signed linebacker Robert James to the 53-man roster after placing linebacker James-Michael Johnson (ankle) on injured reserve. reports Fox Sports.
Eric Berry
News
Chiefs safety Eric Berry is expected to work with the scout team Wednesday to see how he feels after missing the last four games due to an ankle injury, according to the team's official website. The Chiefs are preparing to the play the Rams in Week 8.

News

Armon Binns
News
The Chiefs signed wide receiver Armon Binns to their practice squad Monday, The Kansas City Star reports.

Binns was waived by the Dolphins in the preseason. He has not caught a pass since the 2012 season.

Frankie Hammond
News
The Chiefs probables should be good to go Week 2 against the Broncos.

Safety Husain Abdullah, S Eric Berry, WR Dwayne Bowe, CB Marcus Cooper, LB Tamba Hali, WR Frankie Hammond Jr., WR Junior Hemingway, C Eric Kush and LB Josh Martin all came into the game listed as probable. They are all active Week 2.

Donald Stephenson
News
Chiefs offensive tackle Donald Stephenson has been suspended by the league for four games for violating its performance enhancing drug policy, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Caplan has reported.

Stephenson started seven of 16 games in each of the last two seasons.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif
News
Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery, safety Eric Berry, cornerback Chris Owens, quarterback Aaron Murray, center Eric Kush, offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive end Damion Square were all ruled inactive Week 8 vs. St. Louis.
Brandon Barden
News

Injury

Travis Kelce
News
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce totaled four catches for 45 yards during a 34-7 win Week 8 vs. St. Louis. Kelce was targeted six times and his longest reception went 17 yards.

Kelce came close to an 18-yard touchdown catch early in the second quarter. However, he was dragged down at the 1-yard line following a 17-yard reception. Kelce now doesn't have a touchdown in two straight games after scoring in three straight.

The Chiefs are back in action Week 9 vs. N.Y. Jets.

Other defensive contributors were Sean Smith (four solo tackles), safety Eric Berry (two solo tackles, two pass defenses, one fumble recovery), linebacker Justin Houston (two solo tackles) and defensive tackle Dontari Poe (two solo tackles).

Jeffrey Linkenbach
News
Free agent guard/tackle Jeffrey Linkenbach signed with the Chiefs after spending his first four seasons with the Colts.

Chase Daniel
News
With pick No. 163 in the NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected quarterback Aaron Murray from Georgia. Murray is expected to challenge Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray to be the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Alex Smith.

Murray will likely sit for at least a year since Smith is entering the final season of his contract, although don't be suprised if Smith still gets a contract extension in Kansas City. Either way, don't expect Murray to start any time soon barring injury.

Murray finished his career at Georgia by passing for 3,075 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 11 starts in 2013 before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee against Kentucky. He is the only quarterback in SEC history to throw for more than 3,000 yards in all four seasons and is the conference's career record holder in touchdowns (121) and passing yards (13,166).

His status for the start of training camp is questionable with his knee.

Kurt Coleman
News
Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray, running back De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring), center Eric Kush (shoulder), cornerback Marcus Cooper (ankle), defensive end Damion Square, tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive back Kurt Coleman were ruled inactive Week 1 vs. Tennessee.
