Don Jones
News
The Dolphins have placed 10 players on their Friday injury report, but only running back Daniel Thomas (ankle) is questionable for the critical battle against the Jets. The others are probable, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee). The other offensive players are wide receivers Brian Hartline (knee) and Marlon Moore (wrist).

The defensive probables are defensive backs Jamar Taylor (hamstring), Don Jones (elbow/abdomen) and Chris Clemons (knee/hamstring), linebacker Koa Misi (triceps) and tackles Jared Odrick (wrist) and Paul Soliai (ankle).

Kyle Miller
News
The Dolphins signed defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, running back Cameron Marshall, tight end Kyle Miller, tight end-fullback Emmanuel Ogbuehi, offensive tackle Michael Ola, wide receiver Ryan Spadola and offensive tackle Jason Weaver. Ola played in the CFL the past two seasons, while the rest ended 2013 on Miami's practice squad.
Jimmy Wilson
News
The Dolphins defense is missing two defensive backs for Week 13 against the Jets, as Dimitri Patterson (groin) and Jamar Taylor (hamstring) are unable to suit up for Sunday's game. The rest of the team's injured defenders were able to play through their issues, however, headlined by defensive back Chris Clemons (knee, hamstring), who was considered questionable for the game.

Defensive back Jimmy Wilson (abdomen), linebacker Koa Misi (knee) and defensive lineman Jared Odrick (knee) were all active as expect, as all three were considered probable for the game.

Branden Albert
News
The Dolphins made it official and signed free agent offensive tackle Branden Albert on Tuesday, reports ESPN.

The deal is worth five years, $46 million with $25 million guaranteed. Albert spent the first six years of his career with the Chiefs.

Stephen Williams
News
Jaguars wide receiver Stephen Burton (concussion), wide receiver Stephen Williams (Achilles), quarterback Ricky Stanzi, cornerback Will Blackmon (shoulder), guard Jacques McClendon, defensive tackle Abry Jones and defensive end Jeremy Mincey were among the team's inactives Week 12 at Houston.
Damian Williams
News
The Dolphins have come to terms on a deal with receiver Damian Williams, a source told ESPN. Williams has spent the first four years of his career with the Titans, catching 106 passes for 1,313 yards and five touchdowns. All five of the scores and 592 of the yards came in 2011 when injuries pressed him into action.

Williams will compete for a spot on the depth chart with Miami this summer.

Nate Garner
News
The Dolphins don't have many options to replace center Mike Pouncey, who is out for start of the season because of hip surgery, reports ESPN. He is expected to miss the next three to four months, which includes all of training camp, the preseason and the start of the regular season.

The report says the Dolphins have three options at this stage. They can go with undrafted second-year player Sam Brenner, who received second-team reps at center this offseason and filled in at guard last season for the suspended Richie Incognito. They can use versatile backup Nate Garner, who also played center last season in place of Pouncey for two games and could be the second in-house plan. The third option is to look for outside help via trade or free agency, which could be slim pickings at this stage of the offseason.

Whatever choice Miami makes, it's replacement plan won't be nearly as good as Pouncey. He is one of the top centers in the NFL and the drop off will be significant no matter who plays in Week 1.

Koa Misi
News
The Dolphins will move linebacker Koa Misi inside this season, the Palm Beach Post reports. It's believed he's moving inside because of how well he graded out against the run.
Brandon Fields
News
The NFL unveiled the Pro Bowl rosters for 2014Friday, and they come with a twist; for the first time, selections were made without regard for conference. The teams will be chosen via televised draft Jan. 22.

The special teams selections are as follows:

Punter: Brandon Fields, Dolphins; Johnny Hekker, Rams.

Placekicker: Matt Prater, Broncos; Justin Tucker, Ravens.

Punt returner: Antonio Brown, Steelers; Dexter McCluster, Chiefs.

Special teamer: Justin Bethel, Cardinals; Matthew Slater, Patriots.

Caleb Sturgis
News
Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis didn't get many opportunities to contribute in Week 17, in a 20-7 loss to the Jets. Sturgis didn't attempt a  field goal in the game, and connected on his lone extra point attempt.

Sturgis started his rookie season well, but finished with a 76.5 percent mark on his field-goal tries. He went 26 of 35, but did not even attempt one over the final two games.

Bryant McKinnie
News
The Ravens get their seventh-round draft pick back from the Dolphins as part of the deal for offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, reports the team's official website.

Baltimore traded McKinnie to the Dolphins on Oct. 21 last season. At the time, it was reported that the Ravens would get a late-round conditional pick. The conditions were based on how much McKinnie played.

McKinnie started 10 games in Miami, which means the Dolphins will be sending their seventh-round selection to Baltimore.

The Ravens traded their original seventh-round pick to the Colts in exchange for center/guard A.Q. Shipley. That was also a conditional trade based on whether Shipley made the roster, which he did.

Jamar Taylor
News
The Dolphins remain high on second-year cornerback Jamar Tayor, reports the Miami Herald. Taylor, a second-round pick, played just 45 defensive snaps after a long recovery from sports hernia surgery.

"We're going to see better dividends from him in 2014," a Dolphins staffer told the paper. With corners Brent Grimes and Dimitri Patterson entering free agency, Miami needs Taylor to produce.

Billy Turner
News
With training camp fast approaching, four of the NFL's 256 draft picks remain unsigned. They are Browns corner Justin Gilbert (first round, eighth overall), Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan (first round, 11th overall), Jaguars receiver Marqise Lee (second round, 39th overall) and Dolphins offensive tackle Billy Turner (third round, 67th overall).
Michael Thomas
News
Dolphins defensive back Michael Thomas played in his first game for the team in Week 15 against the Patriots, and made an immediate impact.

Thomas, who was signed from the 49ers' practice squad earlier in the week, came up with the game-saving interception in the end zone to clinch a 24-20 win Sunday. He added three tackles in the game, despite only playing late.

Offensive guard Shelley Smith will sign a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins on Friday. He is expected to earn $1.5 million guaranteed in his deal, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Smith played in 25 games with the Rams the past two seasons, starting eight.

Matt Moore
News
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is expected to get more pressure from coach Joe Philbin this summer to improve his game -- or else. CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora writes that Miami head coach Joe Philbin professed his belief in backup Matt Moore to several general manager candidates, suggesting that he could put Moore in the lineup if Tannehill doesn't improve.

"He definitely wants to push Tannehill more," a source who spoke with Philbin said, "and if he doesn't see improvement he said he might go to Moore at some point. He definitely has a lot of faith in Moore, and they're paying him a lot of money."

Indeed, Moore is due $4 million in 2014 and counts for $5.5 million against the cap. Tannehill is not due for a new contract until 2016.

Ryan Spadola
News
The Dolphins signed defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, running back Cameron Marshall, tight end Kyle Miller, tight end-fullback Emmanuel Ogbuehi, offensive tackle Michael Ola, wide receiver Ryan Spadola and offensive tackle Jason Weaver. Ola played in the CFL the past two seasons, while the rest ended 2013 on Miami's practice squad.
Matt Hazel
News
The Dolphins continue to lock up their draft picks, reports the Miami Herald.

The team signed wide receiver Matt Hazel , a sixth-round pick, Friday to a four-year deal worth an estimated $2.3 million. The team also announced the signing of linebacker Jordan Tripp , a deal that was consummated Thursday.

Hazel, Tripp and tight end Arthur Lynch have now signed with the team.

Cortland Finnegan
News
The Dolphins are banking on a bounceback season from cornerback Cortland Finnegan as they "need another veteran presence in the secondary," reports ESPN.com. Finnegan will battle second-year corners Jamar Taylor and Will Davis for the starting job opposite Pro Bowler Brent Grimes.

"Finnegan's experience gives him the advantage, but he must also stay healthy and productive to keep his job during the regular season," the report said. "That is perhaps a bigger challenge."

Walt Aikens
News
The Dolphins signed cornerback Walt Aikens, a fourth-round pick out of Liberty, to a four-year deal.

Derrick Shelby
News
The Dolphins defense is largely healthy for Week 12 against the Panthers, as only Dimitri Patterson (groin) was unable to play through his injury Sunday.

Defensive backs Jimmy Wilson (abdomen), Reshad Jones (groin) and Chris Clemons (knee, shoulder) were joined on the active roster for Sunday's game by linebackers Dannell Ellerbe (knee) and Koa Misi (knee), as well as defensive lineman Derrick Shelby (ankle).

Mike Wallace
News
There were issues between Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill and receiver Mike Wallace connecting on long passes last season. In 2013 Wallace had just five catches good for 40-plus yards, four of them legitimate deep lobs (and all of those four slightly underthrown). A big issue for Miami this offseason is to fix the deep ball for Tannehill and have him connect more often with the blazing-fast Wallace.

According to ESPN, there's no visual evidence of an improvement. Over seven practices open to the media including the team's recent three-day minicamp, Tannehill has failed to connect with Wallace. He's tried but misfired.

The team, including the receiver involved, insists that it's a non-issue.

"(You) haven't been here. ... We hit those, about three or four of them so far," Wallace said. "Me and him haven't personally thrown that many. If we've thrown like six, we've hit on like four."

ESPN also notes that Wallace "appears determined" to have a big year. He's put in extra time after practice to work on his hands and received praise from his head coach, Joe Philbin, who said he's "doing the little things that can make the difference when the season comes around."

Michael Philipp
News
The Browns signed running back Jourdan Brooks, wideout Taylor Gabriel, offensive lineman Randall Harris, defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel, defensive back Robert Nelson and tight end James Oboh after they tried out during the team's rookie minicamp.

Cleveland waived wideouts Tori Gurley and Josh Cooper, running backs Jamaine Cook and Chris Pressley, offensive linemen Anthony Dima and Michael Philipp, tight end Andre Smith and defensive lineman Elhadji Ndiaye.

Dallas Thomas
News
The Dolphins listed these players as inactive for Monday's game at Tampa Bay: cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin), linebacker Koa Misi (knee), guards David Arkin and Dallas Thomas, right tackle Jonathan Martin, quarterback Pat Devlin and running back Mike Gillislee
Brandon Gibson
News
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill said receiver Brandon Gibson looks good just eight months removed from a major knee injury, reports the Miami Herald.

The report says Tannehill noted Gibson "is moving well, but still not 100 percent."

Gibson is competing for the No. 3 receiver job behind Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline.

Pat Devlin
News
The Dolphins re-signed No. 3 quarterback Pat Devlin, an exclusive rights free agent.
Mike Gillislee
News
The Dolphins unveiled their inactive list for Week 16 against the Bills shortly before kickoff Sunday. Among those listed are: defensive lineman A.J. Francis; defensive back Chris Owens; offensive linemen David Arkin and Danny Watkins; quarterback Pat Devlin; and running back Mike Gillislee.
Rishard Matthews
News
Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews is on the outs with the team because of "losing focus" and "not learning as quickly as coaches want," the Miami Herald reported. It turns out Matthews isn't "a Joe Philbin favorite" despite catching 41 passes for 448 yards and two scores in limited playing time last season.

The Dolphins drafted LSU receiver Jarvis Landry with a second-round pick, a sign the team is ready to move on from Matthews.

Philip Wheeler
News
One Dolphins linebacker reached the 100-tackle mark in Week 16 against the Bills, and another stands at the precipice after a 19-0 loss.

Philip Wheeler led the team with 14 tackles -- eight solo -- to bring his total for the season to 109. That matches his career-high, set a year ago. Dannell Ellerbe is just six tackles short of the century mark, after his 10-stop game left him with 94 with one game left in the season.

Jordie Tripp

Armon Binns
News
With the No. 63 pick in the NFL Draft, the Dolphins selected receiver Jarvis Landry from LSU.

Landry could compete to be the No. 3 receiver for the Dolphins this year behind Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline. He could challenge Brandon Gibson, Rishard Matthews and Armon Binns for playing time right away.

Landry had a big season in 2013 with 77 catches for 1,193 yards and 10 touchdowns. He isn't overly fast (he ran a 4.77 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine), but he does have good hands and is physical.

Jelani Jenkins
News
Several Dolphins who were listed on the injury report are active for Monday's game at Tampa Bay. They include cornerback Nolan Carroll (concussion), safety Chris Clemons (hamstring), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (calf), guard Nate Garner (knee), linebacker Jelani Jenkins (foot), tight end Dion Sims (toe) and kicker Caleb Sturgis (groin).

All were listed as probable except for Jenkins, who was questionable.

Lamar Miller
News
Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas continued to work with the Dolphins starting offense on Tuesday as the team opened minicamp. Free-agent signee Knowshon Moreno was there according to the Palm Beach Post but only did individual drills. Moreno's conditioning has become an issue since early June when he admitted he was out of shape.

Charles Clay
News
Dolphins tight end Charles Clay had a solid performance in Week 17 to finish the season, in a 20-7 loss to the Jets.

Clay hauled in four of the six passes thrown his way for 43 yards, good for second on the team. He added one carry, but was stuffed at the line of scrimmage on a fourth-and-short attempt.

Clay enjoyed a nice breakout season in 2013, finishing with 69 receptions for 763 yards and six touchdowns. He had just 445 yards in two previous seasons.

Jarvis Landry
News
Dolphins rookie receiver Jarvis Landry is making a good impression, reports the Palm Beach Post.

The report says Landry is progressing quickly and is getting looks both outside and in the slot. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill said Landry has some of the strongest hands he’s ever seen.

The report adds "this guy could be a real player from the start."

Dustin Keller
News
The Patriots had free agent tight end Dustin Keller in for a visit Wednesday, but he left town without a contract, reports the Boston Herald.

Keller tore his ACL, MCL and PCL and dislocated his knee last August during a preseason game with the Dolphins, but the report said Keller’s "knee is healed." The 29-year-old is now focused on returning to football shape.

The report said if the Patriots decided to sign Keller he "could be used similarly to Aaron Hernandez."

Olivier Vernon
News
Dolphins defensive end Olivier Vernon is considered a player on the rise, reports ESPN.

Actually, per the report, he has been rishing for two years now after he led the Dolphins with 11.5 sacks in 2013. Now, Vernon is out to prove last season was not a fluke.

He's had another strong offseason, and he's impressed Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert.

"He's real, real good," Albert said.

Richie Incognito
News
Free agent guard Richie Incognito said Wednesday his goal is to return to Miami in 2014 and play for the Dolphins, reports WSVN in South Florida.

"Returning to the Dolphins was my No. 1 goal from the time I got suspended," Incognito told the station. "I want to return to the community in Miami and resume my playing career as soon as possible."

Incognito was just released from spending a number of weeks in rehab receiving treatment for stress.

Whatever choice Miami makes, it's replacement plan won't be nearly as good as Pouncey. He is one of the top centers in the NFL and the drop off will be significant no matter who plays in Week 1.
