The Vikings have re-signed linebacker Erin Henderson to a one-year deal.

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen told SiriusXM NFL Radio he's nearly at full strength after having shoulder and knee surgeries this offseason. Allen says he's regained about 95 percent range of motion in his shoulder and that his knee feels better.

Notable players the Bears either waived or released Friday include: LB Xavier Adibi, RB Armando Allen, WR Joe Anderson, CB Cornelius Brown, WR Terriun Crump, DE Chauncey Davis, WR Rashied Davis, CB Isaiah Frey, WR Brittan Golden, SB Mark LeGree, QB Josh McCown, CB Greg McCoy, DT Jordan Miller, TE Brandon Venson, DE Aston Whiteside, CB Jonathan Wilhite and LB Jabara Williams.

The Vikings official team website reports that receiver Greg Jennings (ankle) was able to practice during the OTA workout Tuesday. Jennings had previously sat out during the offseason workouts with the ankle problem, but he wasn't concerned.

Vikings wide receiver Stephen Burton, who entered the game with only two catches all season, caught three passes for 22 yards Week 15 at St. Louis. He was targeted four times.

ESPN reports that the Vikings have re-signed receiver Jerome Simpson to a one-year deal.

Vikings defensive lineman Letroy Guion is in danger of missing the remainder of the preseason, after he was unable to suit up for Friday’s game against the Charges due to a knee injury. Guion suffered the injury in the first quarter of the team’s preseason opener and has been unable to play since.

The Vikings spent five of 10 draft picks on defense, including a first-round pick on Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith. In addition, the Vikings spent two picks on cornerbacks in Central Florida's Josh Robinson and Notre Dame's Robert Blanton along with two picks toward the front of the defense in N.C. State linebacker Audie Cole and Cal defensive end Trevor Guyton.

Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway will have minor arthroscopic knee surgery this week. He won't be back on the field until training camp. "He had a little tension in his knee ... Just some tenderness in the knee," coach Leslie Frazier told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "And we ended up doing an MRI and saw some things in there that we thought we needed to go in and clean up. And that’s what we’re going to do."

Knee - Questionable for start of training camp

The Vikings drafted five defenders in April: Iowa DE Christian Ballard (Round 4), Utah CB Brandon Burton (Round 5), USF safety Mistral Raymond (Round 6), Ohio State LB Ross Homan (Round 6) and Arizona DE D'Aundre Reed (Round 7).

The Vikings have re-signed defensive tackle Fred Evans.

The Eagles promoted WR Chad Hall from the practice squad Wednesday and released safety Jarrad Page to make room on the roster.

The Minnesota Vikings have signed linebacker Marvin Mitchell. Mitchell was a seventh-round draft pick by New Orleans in 2007 who spent four seasons with the Saints and last year with Miami. He had 30 tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and one interception last season for the Dolphins.

Vikings linebacker Audie Cole certainly had a night to remember during Friday's preseason game against the Bills. Cole returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns in the 36-14 defeat, on consecutive plays. "I don't touch the ball usually, so I just tried to make some moves out there," Cole said.

Kyle Rudolph has looked great through five OTA workouts so far this spring, not slowing down at all after catching nine touchdowns last year. "I try not to get too far ahead of myself, but the Kyle Rudolph that I see now is so much more confident and surer of himself than the Kyle I saw a year ago at this time," coach Leslie Frazier explained. "It’s like night and day to me, personally. I’m anxious to see how he does when we get to training camp from a blocking standpoint, but that Pro Bowl, it’s flipped the switch. He knows he has a chance to be a premier tight end in this league after what he did over there being MVP and it’s evident by the way he’s practicing, the way he runs his routes, the control he has in the meetings. It’s obvious he’s taken his game up to another notch but we’re still only in June so I have to temper my emotions a little bit. I’m excited about what I see."

The Vikings re-signed DB Marcus Sherels to their practice squad on Wednesday.

After spending big to draft three players in Round 1, the Vikings spend Day 3 picks on Penn State linebackers Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti and Florida State defensive tackle Everett Dawkins.

The Vikings made it clear to Matt Cassel before signing a contract that we was not going to have a chance to compete for the starting job with Christian Ponder this summer.

Vikings defensive lineman Everson Griffen was able to get to quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemingly at will in Week 17 against the Packers. He sacked Rodgers a career-high three times and also forced a fumble. Griffen finished with four solo tackles in the 37-34 win.

The Vikings have taken Florida State cornerback Xavier Rhodes with the 25th overall selection in the NFL draft. They drafted the big cornerback with their second first-rounder on Thursday night. Rhodes, a press corner, had four interceptions and 12 pass breakups as a junior last season. He's expected to help the Vikings overcome the loss of veteran Antoine Winfield, who signed with Seattle after being released in the offseason.

ESPN.com reports that WR Bernard Berrian went unclaimed on waivers, making him a free agent. He was released by the Vikings on Tuesday after catching just seven passes for 91 yards in five games.

Vikings defensive lineman Kevin Williams notched three tackles and a sack during Minnesota's 34-24 win over Detroit in Week 10. Williams knocked down Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford for his second sack in the past four games -- his total on the season.

Vikings cornerback Josh Robinson totaled five solo tackles and one interception Week 14 vs. Chicago. It was his second interception of the season.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz announced Tuesday cornerback Jacob Lacey will miss the rest of the season with a kneecap injury.

ESPN reports the Vikings might begin looking for a trade partner for running back Toby Gerhart once training camp kicks off.

Lions defensive lineman Lawrence Jackson recorded his first sack of the season Week 9 at Jacksonville. He finished with two tackles, both solo.

The Buccaneers cut three players on Friday. The players released were LB Tyrone McKenzie, DL Kyle Moore and DL John McCargo.

The ESPN radio affiliate in Minnesota reports that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is participating in team drills Wednesday during OTA workouts about four months after sports hernia surgery. The report says there's no live contact in OTAs, but it appears "he's full go" in this setting. "I'm pretty much 100 percent," Peterson said. "Me knowing my body, I would like to be a little stronger in some areas. But I'm feeling great." Peterson said he "definitely earned a lot more respect for your abdominal muscles" and has been ramping up his weight training after initially gearing exercises to reduce pressure on the area.

Hernia - Probable for start of training camp

Minnesota DB Benny Sapp posted a season-high six tackles -- all solo stops -- during the Vikings' 35-32 loss to Denver in Week 13. Sapp also finished tied for the team lead as one of his tackles went for a loss. Sapp's previous season high was five tackles in Week 1.

Vikings kicker Blair Walsh nailed his only field-goal attempt and tallied an extra point during Minnesota's 24-10 loss at Green Bay in an NFC Wild Card contest Saturday night. Walsh booted a 33-yard field goal to open the scoring in the first quarter before sitting idle until the fourth quarter.

Vikings defensive back Jamarca Sanford was kept busy in a losing effort against the Buccaneers in Week 8. Sanford registered a season-high 10 tackles, including six solo in a 36-17 victory.

Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was a first-round pick of the Vikings in the NFL draft. The 6-foot-3, 297 pounder was a highly regarded lineman coming out of high school when he headed to Gainesville and made the All-SEC team as a freshman with 23 tackles including 6.5 for loss. The numbers only went up from there as Floyd ended his career with 4.5 sacks, 26 tackles for loss and 115 total tackles while lining up all over the defensive line.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told the ESPN Radio affiliate in Minneapolis that he hopes quarterback-turned-receiver Joe Webb can improve his route running enough in the coming weeks so that he can contribute more in training camp. "I was talking to him today about one of the toughest parts of the transition is just the route-running part," Frazier said. "He has very good hands. He knows the offense very well. He's actually helping some of the young guys in where to line up at. (The hope is) he'll be able to grasp the route running part of it fast enough to give himself the best chance to go out and really have a chance to make the transition smoothly when we get to training camp. Knowing how hard he works and knowing how much he wants to succeed as a receiver, he'll have a very good chance of getting that done."

NFL.com reports that the Vikings have re-signed free agent fullback Jerome Felton to a three-year contract for $7.5 million.

The 49ers cut down the roster by 26 on Saturday to get to the league-mandated 53 players on deadline. Among the casualties were WRs Ronald Johnson, Joe Hastings, Lance Long and Chris Hogan, CBs Phillip Adams, Phillip Davis, and Cory Nelms, LB Alex Joseph, TE Nate Lawrie, C Chase Beeler, QB McLeod Bethel-Thomspon, FB Jack Corcoran, DT Brian Bulcke, S Chris Maragos, RB Xavier Omon, TE Konrad Reuland, LB Monte Simmons, LB Kenny Rowe, NT Sealver Siliga, FS Curtis Taylor, and DB Anthony West.

The Jets waived DB Andrew Sendejo on Tuesday.

The Vikings activated cornerback Chris Cook on Saturday. Cook was on injured reserve but was designated to return. He missed eight weeks due to a broken arm. The team also activated defensive end George Johnson from the practice squad. Minnesota waived tight end Allen Reisner and guard Mark Asper to make room.

Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter Week 14 vs. Chicago. He will be re-evaluated on Monday. Jefferson had four tackles (three solo) and one pass defense before leaving the game.

Vikings LB E.J. Henderson, who entered with a combined 26 tackles in his last two games, took a small step back with eight, including seven solo, Week 17 against the Bears. He did, however, force a fumble.

Vikings tight end John Carlson restructured his contract to stay with the Vikings, 1500ESPN reported Tuesday.

Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright was able to come up with some big plays in Week 17 against the Packers. The rookie caught three passes for a career-high 90 yards and a touchdown in the 37-34 win. He hauled in an 8-yard scoring strike from Christian Ponder in the first half and gained most of his yardage on a 65-yard grab in the fourth quarter. Wright, who was targeted five times, led Minnesota in receiving in the victory.

The Jaguars signed rookie linebacker Joshua Jones, waiving rookie running back Joe Banyard. Jones (6-foot-1, 234 pounds), who had 17 tackles for loss and four sacks for Elon last season, participated in the team's rookie minicamp recently on a workout basis. Banyard has signed with the team as a rookie free agent after the draft.

Vikings receiver Greg Childs has indeed suffered two torn patella tendons in his knees, ending his rookie season prematurely. Surgery is expected soon. Childs appeared to sustain the injury while going up for a pass near the endzone and landing hard toward the end of Saturday's practice. He was carted off the field. “You hate to see any player go down for any reason, and Greg has struggled with injuries, as we know, in college,” said Frazier on Saturday.

Knees - Questionable for start of training camp

Vikings tight end Rhett Ellison hauled in two receptions for 35 yards in Week 5 against the Titans. Ellison had a long of 29 yards and was targeted twice in the 30-7 defeat.

Vikings defensive back Harrison Smith continued to pile up the tackles Week 15 at St. Louis. He collected 10, including nine solo, in the contest. He has now recorded double-digit tackles in two of his last three games.

Minnesota DB Mistral Raymond came up with the big interception on Saturday of Week 16 at Washington. The Vikings had not intercepted a pass in 10 games before Raymond picked off QB Rex Grossman. Raymond finished with six tackles in the game and two passes defended.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Vikings rookie receiver Cordarrelle Patterson might not make much of an impact early in his rookie season. The report says "in the first month of his NFL career, the team’s front office and coaching staff has kept its expectations tempered, issuing frequent reminders that Patterson’s earliest significant contributions will likely come as a kick returner. His climb to become a big-time receiver will take longer with so many nuances of the position still to be learned and the Vikings, in turn, needing to find the simplest ways to get him the ball initially." Said coach Leslie Frazier: "We don’t want give him too much early. We want to make sure we do enough to get him on the field and really go to his strengths. There are some things that we have in mind. But everything that I’ve seen, we’ll be able to utilize his talents. He’s a gifted young man.”

Free agent quarterback Donovan McNabb told NBC Sports he plans on playing this season, saying there's an 80-to-90-percent chance he'll land on a roster. "I have about three teams that I’m looking at," McNabb said.

During the early part of the offseason, the Vikings repeatedly expressed their confidence in quarterback Christian Ponder. That stance has not changed even with the signing of Matt Cassel earlier this month. "Christian Ponder is our starting quarterback. Matt knows that; he knew it when we went through the acquisition," coach Leslie Frazier told the team's official website. "If something were to happen to Christian injury-wise, we have a quality backup who can step in and do a great job for us. Christian just needs to continue to improve just like we all expect him to, but he’s our starting quarterback."

Vikings TE Jimmy Kleinsasser was not among his team's inactives for Week 4 against the Chiefs. He had practiced during the week and reported that his elbow felt fine.
