Rashad Jennings
News
Giants running back Rashad Jennings said Monday he still hopes to return following the team's Week 8 bye, according to the New York Daily News. However, he still called his situation "day to day."

Jennings has missed the last two games due to a knee injury. The Giants return to action Week 9 against the Colts.

Knee - Missed Week 7 at Dallas
Andre Williams
News
Giants rookie running back Andre Williams often fails to let his blocks materialize, making it harder to find a crease, according to The Star-Ledger. He averaged 3.1 yards per carry over the past two weeks as Rashad Jennings' replacement.

"I think for all young players, they have a tendency to really get in a hurry, but I think that he is getting more patient as he continues to go," running backs coach Craig Johnson said.

The Giants are on a bye Week 8 before hosting the Colts in Week 9 on Monday Night Football. Jennings hopes to return from his knee injury against Indy, but if he can't Williams will make his third start.

Josh Brown
News
Giants kicker Josh Brown did not receive a field goal attempt Week 7.

Brown did manage to hit all his extra point attempts during the game, but that was it. Aside from kickoffs, that was the only work Brown put in Sunday. He's on a bye Week 8.

Mathias Kiwanuka
News
The Giants restructured defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka's contract to create approximately $2 million worth of cap space on Monday, according to the USA Today.

Kiwanuka had 45 tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles last season with the Giants.
Kerry Wynn
News
The Giants have made RB Rashad Jennings, OL Adam Snyder, DE Kerry Wynn, OL James Brewer, OL Brandon Mosley, DT Jay Bromley and WR Corey Washington inactive Week 7 against the Cowboys.

Jennings was the only player listed on the injury report coming into the contest. He was ruled out prior to Sunday. The other six players are healthy scratches.

Markus Kuhn
News
Giants defensive lineman Markus Kuhn is officially probable for Week 3 against the Texans, after getting through the week in practice without limitation due to an ankle injury.
Rueben Randle
News
The Giants backup pass catchers did little Week 7 against the Cowboys.

Rueben Randle had a decent game. He caught six passes for 74 yards. He was overshadowed in the red zone by teammate Odell Beckham Jr. during the contest. Randle did receive a team-high nine targets.

Daniel Fells only caught one pass, but made it count. In the second quarter, Fells grabbed a 27 yard touchdown from Eli Manning. Preston Parker caught two passes, gaining 19 yards.

All three players are on a bye Week 8.

Kevin Ogletree
News
The Giants will sign wide receiver Kevin Ogletree, Pro Football Talk reports.

Ogletree will provide depth to the Giants' wide-receiver corps after Victor Cruz was lost for the season due to a Week 6 knee injury. Ogletree has caught 78 passes for 999 yards and six touchdowns in 62 games over five seasons.

James Davidson
News
The Bengals waived linebacker J.K. Schaffer (concussion) and cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks (thumb) with injury designations. Cincy also waived linebacker James Davidson and quarterback Matt Scott to reach the 75-man roster limit.
Cooper Taylor
News
According to ESPN, the following players are not expected to dress for the Giants Friday night against the Jets: Odell Beckham, Prince Amukamara, Charles Brown, Jayron Hosley, Trindon Holliday, James Brewer, Peyton Hillis, Xavier Grimble, Jon Beason and Cooper Taylor.
Injury
Toe - IR. Out for season
Larry Donnell
News
The Giants are stressing ball security with breakout tight end Larry Donnell, who lost two fumbles in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss at Dallas. "It's one of those things we preach on a daily basis, whether it be technique or focus on the football," tight ends coach Kevin M. Gilbride told The Star-Ledger.

"And that's something he knows he needs to improve on. He knows it hurt our football team."

Donnell has lost three fumbles in seven games this season. The Giants are on a bye this week.

Stevie Brown
News
Giants safety Quintin Demps practiced with the first-team defense Tuesday and it appears he will replace Stevie Brown in the starting lineup at free safety Thursday at Washington after Brown was benched Sunday against the Texans.

"We're looking at all the possibilities. We're just trying to get better," defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said, per NJ.com. "It was an internal Giants decision [to make the switch] and I'll just leave it at that."

James Brewer

Eric Herman
News
The Giants signed offensive lineman Eric Herman to their practice squad and waived offensive lineman Mark Asper. Herman had been waived Friday following his early reinstatement from a four-game suspension, reports the New York Daily News.
Victor Cruz
News
As expected, the Giants placed wideout Victor Cruz on season-ending injured reserve. He tore his patella tendon in Sunday's loss at Philadelphia.
Injury
Knee - IR. Out for season
John Jerry
News
Giants left tackle Will Beatty (leg), guard John Jerry (knee) and receiver Mario Manningham (knee) all will be limited during training camp, reports ESPN. The Giants' first practice is Tuesday.
Odell Beckham
News
Only three games into his career, Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham has emerged as one of quarterback Eli Manning's favorite red-zone targets, which is especially good news with another one of his favorite red-zone targets, Victor Cruz, lost for the season with a knee injury.

Beckham didn't have a lot of chances Week 7 at Dallas, but he made the most of the ones he got, scoring on catches of 9 and 5 yards. In all, he had four catches for 34 yards. His six targets were third-most on the team, behind wide receiver Rueben Randle's nine and tight end Larry Donnell's seven.

The six targets were a season high for Beckham. He has yet to catch more than four passes for more than 44 yards, but because he keeps getting looks in the end zone, he's worth adding in Fantasy even if it's just to stash him on your bench until you're ready to put your trust in him.

Corey Washington
News
Giants receiver Corey Washington caught a touchdown pass in four straight preseason games. But even with the team losing Victor Cruz for the season, Washington was inactive Week 7 and has yet to make a regular-season catch.

"He's learning to run an entire route tree," receivers coach Sean Ryan told The Star-Ledger. "There is growing to be done with Corey. He works on his releases, his routes, his top of the breaks, getting out of those -- things he needs to improve on. That is where he is right now. He's a work in progress."

Jerome Cunningham
News
The Giants waived or released kicker Brandon McManus, tight end Jerome Cunningham, defensive backs Charles James and Ross Weaver, defensive end Emmanuel Dieke, linebackers Spencer Adkins and Justin Anderson, and safety Kyle Sebetic.

The Giants also waived rookie tight end Xavier Grimble (hamstring) with an injury designation.

Jason Pierre-Paul
News
Despite surrendering more than 400 yards, the Giants had a pretty strong defensive effort during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston.

The Texans did finish with 411 yards (119 rushing) and were playing without star running back Arian Foster (hamstring). But the Giants held Houston to no points, four first downs and 83 yards in the first half.

Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, safety Antrel Rolle and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie each had an interception Sunday. Linebacker Jameel McClain led the team with 11 tackles (nine solo). Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was second on the team with seven tackles (five solo). Amukamara and Rodgers-Cromartie each had two pass defenses.

The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

Jayron Hosley
News
With Walter Thurmond (pectoral) and Trumaine McBride (thumb) on injured reserve, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Jayron Hosley will be the next player getting the chance to lock down the role as the team's nickel corner.

"He will have an opportunity," Coughlin said, per the New York Daily News.

Adrien Robinson
News
The Giants got several minor contributions in their Week 6 loss at Philadelphia. Backup running back Peyton Hillis carried five times for 24 yards and caught three of five targets for 28 yards. Tight end Daniel Fells caught two passes for 40 yards but lost a fumble, while tight end Adrien Robinson had a 29-yard catch on two targets.

Wideout Preston Parker had a 6-yard catch.

Johnathan Hankins
News
Giants defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is poised for a breakout season in his second year, according to the team's website. With Linval Joseph's departure, Hankins will play a lot more and "provide upper-echelon play at defensive tackle down in and down out," the website said.

A second-round pick out of Ohio State, Hankins played in 11 games last year, making 16 tackles.

Jon Beason
News
Giants linebacker Jon Beason told WFAN that it's 50-50 whether he tries to play again this season or has surgery on his injured toe, reports the New York Daily News. Beason, who visited a foot specialist Tuesday, said in the interview that he's playing "without a critical ligament" in his big toe.

Beason returned to action Week 7 but aggravated the injury in the loss at Dallas.

Injury
Toe - Left Week 7 at Dallas
Mike Patterson
News
According to ESPN, the following players will not suit up for the Giants Saturday night against the Colts in preseason action: Odell Beckham, Trindon Holliday, Jayron Hosley, Peyton Hillis, Daniel Fells, Xavier Grimble and Mike Patterson.
Daniel Fells

Carlos Fields
News
The Giants signed cornerback Victor Hampton and linebacker Carlos Fields to the practice squad Tuesday, the New York Daily News reports.
Eli Manning
News
Playing his first game without star wide receiver Victor Cruz, who's out for the season with a torn patella tendon, Giants quarterback Eli Manning still managed to bounce back from arguably his worst game of the season with one of his best Week 7 at Dallas, completing 21 of 33 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns.

It was his fifth game in six with multiple touchdown passes and his second with at least three. And he did it against a defense that had generally kept quarterbacks out of the end zone, recording nearly as many interceptions (seven) as it had allowed touchdown passes (eight) prior to Week 7.

Though two of his touchdown passes went to rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham, who wasn't even available to him the first four weeks, Manning did a nice job of spreading the ball around. None of the touchdowns went to his two leading receivers, Larry Donnell and Rueben Randle.

Judging by this performance, Manning knows how to make use of the weapons the Giants have and doesn't need Cruz to remain successful in Fantasy. His bad games can be really bad, but his good games have been frequent enough for you to give him another shot when he returns from a bye Week 9 against Indianapolis.

Robert Ayers
News
Giants defensive end Robert Ayers, who was questionable with a neck injury, is active for Sunday night's game at the Eagles. Also suiting up are cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle, hamstring) and punter Steve Weatherford (ankle). They were listed as probable.
Adam Snyder

Dominique Hamilton
News
The Chiefs have announced their final round of cuts and other moves to reach the league-mandated roster of 53 players.

Among the offensive players let go are fullback Jordan Campbell, wide receivers Fred Williams and Mark Harrison, guard Ricky Henry, tackle J'Marcus Webb and running back Charcandrick West.

The defensive players gone from the roster are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Malcolm Bronson, linemen Dominique Hamilton, Kyle Love and Kona Schwenke, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith, Devan Walker and Nico Johnson and cornerbacks Justin Rogers and DeMarcus Van Dyke .

The Chiefs have also placed Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams on IR and Mike Catapano on the non-football injury list.

Chris Harper
News
The Giants signed receiver Chris Harper to their practice squad and released wideout Travis Harvey from the squad, reports The Record.
Ryan Nassib
News
Giants backup quarterback Ryan Nassib finished up Sunday night's 27-0 loss to the Eagles. Although he took two sacks, Nassib completed 4 of 5 passes for 60 yards without a turnover.

He'll go back to the bench for Week 7 at Dallas.

Juron Criner
News
The Giants signed wideout Juron Criner to their practice squad. He made 19 catches for the Raiders the past two seasons.
Cullen Jenkins
News
Giants defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins left the locker room following Sunday's loss at Dallas on crutches and with his right leg in a walking boot, according to the New York Post. Jenkins is expected to miss some time due to a strained calf, which he suffered late in the first quarter while running.

"Then you realize there was nobody behind you and you’re just like, "Aww, man,'" Jenkins said.

Injury
Calf - Left Week 7 at Dallas
Prince Amukamara

Weston Richburg
News
Giants rookie Weston Richburg, a second-round pick from Colorado State, is expected to step in for injured left guard Geoff Schwartz, reports the New York Post. Schwartz dislocated his toe in Friday's game and will be out anywhere from 4-6 weeks to the entire season, the paper said.

Schwartz will meet with a foot specialist this week.

Richburg had been competing with Brandon Mosley at right guard, but now it appears both will be forced to start, the paper said.

Henry Hynoski
News
Giants backup runners Peyton Hillis and Henry Hynoski saw some time Thursday against Washington.

Hillis received eight carries in mop up duty, picking up 31 yards. He saw all of his action in the fourth quarter. Hynoski managed to pick up 1 yard on his only carry.

Both players will take on the Falcons Week 5.

Bennett Jackson
News
The Giants filled seven of their 10 practice squad spots, signing running back Michael Cox, cornerbacks Bennett Jackson and Chandler Fenner, linebacker Dan Fox, defensive end Jordan Stanton, receiver Julian Talley and offensive tackle Nick Becton.
Jay Bromley

Travis Howard
News
The Giants waived/injured cornerback Travis Howard with a knee injury and signed corner Chandler Fenner, who spent last season on the Seahawks' IR with a knee injury.
Injury
Troy Kropog
News
The Giants signed offensive tackle Adam Gress and placed offensive tackle Troy Kropog on injured reserve. Gess is a rookie free agent from Penn State. Kropog suffered a foot injury in practice.
Injury
Rogers Gaines
News
The Giants made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

The players on that list are DT Kelcy Quarles, QB Curtis Painter, FB John Conner, TE Kellen Davis, DE Israel Idonije, CB Bennett Jackson, OT Rogers Gaines, RB Michael Cox, WR Julian Talley, RB Kendall Gaskins, OT Mark Asper, OT Adam Gress, G Jamaal Johnson-Webb, LB Terrell Manning, LB Dan Fox, DB Chandler Fenner, DB Thomas Gordon, DT Kelcy Quarles and DE Jordan Stanton.
Injury
Nat Berhe
News
Giants coach Tom Coughlin addressed Monday why he decided to bench veteran Stevie Brown in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Texans in favor of rookie Nat Berhe

"We made a position change there. That's all I'm going to say about that. He was not hurt," Coughlin said of Brown, per the New York Daily News.

Antrel Rolle

Peyton Hillis
News
Giants running back Peyton Hillis received limited work Week 7 against the Cowboys.

Hillis gained 29 yards on six carries. He caught one ball for 4 yards during the contest. Hillis wasn't a big factor, and was the clear backup to rookie Andre Williams. Hillis is on a bye Week 8.

Charles Brown
News
Giants wide receiver Julian Talley, linebacker Jon Beason, tackle Adam Snyder, tackle Charles Brown, defensive end Kerry Wynn, guard James Brewer and defensive tackle Jay Bromley were all ruled inactive Week 5 vs. Atlanta.
Preston Parker

Damontre Moore
News
After losing defensive end Justin Tuck to the Raiders, the Giants are hoping 2013 third-round pick Damontre Moore "can make a big leap and be an impact/breakout player at defensive end on the side opposite Jason Pierre-Paul," reports ESPN.com. Moore barely made an impact as a rookie, finishing with 11 tackles and a forced fumble in 15 games.

The report called Moore "a high-energy athlete capable of making plays" but noted he "still made far too many mistakes in practice, even late in the year."

Jacquian Williams
News
Giants defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins (Achilles, knee), tackle David Diehl (thumb), linebacker Mark Herzlich (toe), defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul (knee), defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (back), safety Cooper Taylor (shoulder), cornerback Terrell Thomas (knee) and linebacker Jacquian Williams (knee) were all cleared to play Week 5 vs. Philadelphia. Jenkins, who was listed as questionable, was the only player not probable.
Julian Talley
News
Giants wide receiver Julian Talley, linebacker Jon Beason, tackle Adam Snyder, tackle Charles Brown, defensive end Kerry Wynn, guard James Brewer and defensive tackle Jay Bromley were all ruled inactive Week 5 vs. Atlanta.
Mark Herzlich
News
The Giants are missing a handful of defensive contributors in Week 6 against the Bears Thursday, but five of eight players listed on the injury report from that side of the ball were able to play.

Defensive back Terrell Thomas (knee), defensive linemen Damontre Moore (hamstring) and Linval Joseph (ankle), and linebackers Mark Herzlich (toe) and Zak DeOssie (back) were all able to play through their injuries Thursday.

Brandon Mosley

Walter Thurmond
News
The Giants announced Tuesday they placed cornerback Walter Thurmond (pectoral) and wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan (foot) on season-ending injured reserve.

Thurmond had surgery Tuesday for a torn pectoral muscle and will need 3-4 months recovery. Jernigan has a mid-foot sprain, but he will not need surgery. There is no timetable for his recovery.

The Giants filled the openings on the roster by promoting wide receiver Julian Talley and linebacker Dan Fox from the practice squad.

Injury
Steve Weatherford
News
Giants linebacker Jon Beason (toe) and punter Steve Weatherford (left ankle) were the only players on the injury report to practice in full on Friday. Both players were deemed probable for Week 7 at Dallas, per the team's official website.

Meanwhile, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle, hamstring) and linebacker Spencer Paysinger (hamstring) were limited participants on Friday, leaving them questionable for Sunday. As expected, running back Rashad Jennings (knee) was the only player on the injury report to be ruled out for Week 7.

The possible absence of fellow Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would place Zack Bowman front and center Sunday against Dallas And that could mean an individual battle against Cowboys stud receiver Dez Bryant.

"He has a phenomenal mindset when it comes to the ball," Bowman told NJ.com. "Obviously, it's going to be about just going out there to compete, to try and out-compete him. We have a nice game plan for the Cowboys."

Bowman, who has been used mostly on special teams this season, is embracing a potentially expanded role.

"It won't be tough," he said. "Obviously we have a mentality for the next guy up. It's not my first rodeo. I've played in games before. Like I said, it's about being confident and knowing what I'm doing out there."
