Rashad Jennings
News
The Giants drafted Andre Williams in the fourth round last June with the hopes that he would be able to push newly-signed Rashad Jennings for the starting role as a rookie. After three weeks, however, Jennings' job seems as safe as can be, given how little Williams has done.

Williams put up another subpar performance in Week 3 against the Texans Sunday, and now has just 39 yards on 19 carries, with a long run of just 5 yards. Jennings, on the other hand, ranks third in the NFL with 286 yards, and has doubled Williams' yards-per-carry average behind the same line.

The Giants have responded to the disparity in the duo's performance by adjusting their roles in the offense. Williams has gone from playing 30 percent of the snaps in the opener to 26 and 23 percent in the last two games. Unless Jennings gets hurt, there is little reason to think this pattern will reverse.

Williams is still owned in 49 percent of CBSSports.com leagues, and has little value beyond serving as a handcuff for Jennings, who missed just one game a year ago.

Dan Fox
News
The Giants announced Tuesday they placed cornerback Walter Thurmond (pectoral) and wide receiver Jerrel Jernigan (foot) on season-ending injured reserve.

Thurmond had surgery Tuesday for a torn pectoral muscle and will need 3-4 months recovery. Jernigan has a mid-foot sprain, but he will not need surgery. There is no timetable for his recovery.

The Giants filled the openings on the roster by promoting wide receiver Julian Talley and linebacker Dan Fox from the practice squad.

Josh Brown
News
After getting little work through the first two games, Giants kicker Josh Brown was plenty busy during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston. Brown made six kicks, including three field goals, and finished with 12 points.

Brown attempted no field goals through the first two games -- both New York losses. In fact, his first field-goal attempt Sunday was supposed to be a 30-yard attempt early in the second quarter, but he never got the chance because of a bad snap.

Brown did kick two extra points in the second quarter. He then added a 39-yard field goal in the third quarter, another extra point in the fourth quarter, as well as field goals of 29 and 31 yards.

The Giants are back in action Week 4 at Washington.

Mathias Kiwanuka

The Giants restructured defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka's contract to create approximately $2 million worth of cap space on Monday, according to the USA Today.

Manningham has been dealing with ongoing knee problems that limited him to six games, including three starts, in 2013. Holliday, who doubles as a kick returner, missed most of the preseason with a hamstring injury.

Markus Kuhn
News
Giants defensive lineman Markus Kuhn is officially probable for Week 3 against the Texans, after getting through the week in practice without limitation due to an ankle injury.
Rueben Randle
News
The Giants made a concerted effort Week 3 against the Texans to get the football to wide receiver Rueben Randle. However, despite a team-high 10 targets, Randle finished with just five catches for 27 yards in a 30-17 win.

Randle was targeted on the first play of scrimmage Sunday and three times on the second drive. By halftime, he had seven targets, but he managed just four catches for 26 yards.

Randle had a chance in the fourth quarter to haul in a 13-yard touchdown pass, but the pass hit him in the chest and he couldn't make the one-handed grab.

Randle has just 11 catches for 67 yards and one touchdown through three games. The Giants are back in action Thursday against the Redskins.

Larry Donnell
News
Giants tight end Larry Donnell caught all of his six targets for 45 yards during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston. His longest catch went 18 yards.

While Donnell had at least five catches for a third straight game, he also lost the first fumble of his career Sunday. He fumbled down inside the Texans' 5-yard line after recording a 6-yard catch late in the first quarter. Johnathan Joseph recovered the fumble at the 3-yard line and returned it to the 27-yard line.

Donnell has 18 catches for 182 yards and one touchdown through three games. The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

Stevie Brown
News
Giants coach Tom Coughlin addressed Monday why he decided to bench veteran Stevie Brown in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Texans in favor of rookie Nat Berhe

James Brewer
News
Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, linebacker Jon Beason, linebacker Devon Kennard, tackle Charles Brown, defensive end Kerry Wynn, guard James Brewer and defensive tackle Jay Bromley were ruled inactive Week 3 vs. Houston.
Victor Cruz
News
For at least one week, Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz silenced his critics. The fifth-year receiver, who was plagued by drops in his first two games, posted a team-best 107 receiving yards in a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston.

Cruz got off to a very promising start, as his first catch late in the first quarter went for 61 yards. Cruz took a slant pass and ran past a few defenders before finally being dragged down at the Texans' 15-yard line.

Cruz then really put in work to get his first touchdown of the season and put the Giants up 7-0 in the second quarter. Cruz caught a short pass from Eli Manning, stopped on a dime, made a defender miss and then outran another defender to the end zone for a 26-yard touchdown with 3:21 left before halftime. It was his first touchdown in 13 games.

Cruz, who has 18 career 100-yard games (including playoffs), finished with five catches on six targets. The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

John Jerry
News
Giants left tackle Will Beatty (leg), guard John Jerry (knee) and receiver Mario Manningham (knee) all will be limited during training camp, reports ESPN. The Giants' first practice is Tuesday.
Odell Beckham
News
Giants coach Tom Coughlin said wide receiver Odell Beckham has shown "improvement" in his recovery from a hamstring injury. However, Coughlin added he doesn't believe Beckham will be ready to play Thursday against the Redskins.
Injury

Corey Washington
News
Giants rookie receiver Corey Washington was summoned into Week 1 against the Lions as a red zone threat. Washington was unable to come down with a fade pass in from Eli Manning in the corner of the end zone in the second quarter. It was his only target of the night in a 35-14 loss.
Jerome Cunningham
News
The Giants waived or released kicker Brandon McManus, tight end Jerome Cunningham, defensive backs Charles James and Ross Weaver, defensive end Emmanuel Dieke, linebackers Spencer Adkins and Justin Anderson, and safety Kyle Sebetic.

The Giants also waived rookie tight end Xavier Grimble (hamstring) with an injury designation.

Jason Pierre-Paul
News
Despite surrendering more than 400 yards, the Giants had a pretty strong defensive effort during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston.

The Texans did finish with 411 yards (119 rushing) and were playing without star running back Arian Foster (hamstring). But the Giants held Houston to no points, four first downs and 83 yards in the first half.

Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, safety Antrel Rolle and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie each had an interception Sunday. Linebacker Jameel McClain led the team with 11 tackles (nine solo). Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was second on the team with seven tackles (five solo). Amukamara and Rodgers-Cromartie each had two pass defenses.

The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

Jayron Hosley
News
Two Giants serving four-game suspensions for violating the league's substance abuse policy are expected to be reinstated once the NFL's new drug policy is approved, reports The Star-Ledger. Cornerback Jayron Hosley and offensive lineman Eric Herman would be able to play Week 3 against the Texans, the report said.
Injury
Suspension - 4-game suspension. Eligible to return Week 5 vs. Atlanta
Adrien Robinson
News
Giants coach Tom Coughlin said the team will use several tight ends. None of the contenders for the starting job -- Larry Donnell, Adrien Robinson, Kellen Davis and Daniel Fells -- separated himself.

"That is not necessarily what the plan was," Coughlin said. "But the plan has evolved to that, where people can be utilized for their skills in different ways."

Johnathan Hankins
News
Giants defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins is poised for a breakout season in his second year, according to the team's website. With Linval Joseph's departure, Hankins will play a lot more and "provide upper-echelon play at defensive tackle down in and down out," the website said.

A second-round pick out of Ohio State, Hankins played in 11 games last year, making 16 tackles.

Daniel Fells
News
Giants tight end Daniel Fells recorded a touchdown for a second straight week during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston. Fells, who had all of two catches through two games, finished with two catches for 22 yards Sunday.

He had a 9-yard touchdown catch with 9:25 left in the fourth quarter, which gave New York a 27-10 lead. It was a perfectly placed pass from quarterback Eli Manning, which just cleared the defender and floated into Fells' hands as he was attempting a sliding catch.

The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

Eli Manning
News
Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw a pair of touchdowns, and New York earned its first victory of the season during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston. Manning completed 21 of 28 passes for 234 yards and no touchdowns, finishing with a 123.2 quarterback rating.

He put New York up 7-0 after connecting with Victor Cruz on a 26-yard touchdown pass with 3:21 left in the second quarter. He then gave the Giants a 27-10 lead in the fourth quarter after connecting with Daniel Fells for a 9-yard touchdown with 9:25 left.

Manning almost had a lengthy touchdown pass late in the first quarter, but Cruz couldn't outrun the defense and was dragged down after a 61-yard gain. On the previous drive, Larry Donnell fumbled down inside the 5-yard line after catching a 6-yard pass from Manning.

Manning didn't throw an interception for the first time in eight games dating back to last season. The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

The defensive players gone from the roster are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Malcolm Bronson, linemen Dominique Hamilton, Kyle Love and Kona Schwenke, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith, Devan Walker and Nico Johnson and cornerbacks Justin Rogers and DeMarcus Van Dyke .

The Chiefs have also placed Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams on IR and Mike Catapano on the non-football injury list.

Ryan Nassib
News
Second-year pro Ryan Nassib is firmly entrenched as the Giants' backup quarterback, reports The Star-Ledger. Nassib has picked up the new offensive system quickly, the paper said.

"Really smart," Danny Langsdorf, the team's new quarterbacks coach, told the paper. "I think he’s done a great job, especially in our no-huddle periods of just being able to get guys lined up, whether we’re in a two-minute situation or whatever situation we’ve been in he’s done a great job of just getting us in a correct formation, getting us lined up.

"He’s just got to keep working on executing, whether it’s a throw or timing with the receivers, he’s just got to continue to work with those guys but he’s been very good to this point in terms of studying and learning."

Cullen Jenkins
News
The Giants have three players listed on the injury report for Week 2 who are expected to play through their injuries in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Linebacker Jon Beason (foot) and defensive linemen Cullen Jenkins (hip) and Jason Pierre-Paul (neck) are all probable for Week 2, after getting through Friday's practice.

Giants rookie Weston Richburg, a second-round pick from Colorado State, is expected to step in for injured left guard Geoff Schwartz, reports the New York Post. Schwartz dislocated his toe in Friday's game and will be out anywhere from 4-6 weeks to the entire season, the paper said.

Schwartz will meet with a foot specialist this week.

It remains to be seen if it's same shoulder. He is competing with John Conner for the fullback job, leaving his status to make the final roster uncertain.

Preston Parker
News
With Jerrel Jernigan (foot) done for the season, Preston Parker is the Giants' new No. 3 receiver, coach Tom Coughlin told the New York Post. However, Coughlin said all five Giants receivers will get their opportunities.

Parker made a 29-yard catch in the Week 2 loss to the Cardinals.

Damontre Moore
News
After losing defensive end Justin Tuck to the Raiders, the Giants are hoping 2013 third-round pick Damontre Moore "can make a big leap and be an impact/breakout player at defensive end on the side opposite Jason Pierre-Paul," reports ESPN.com. Moore barely made an impact as a rookie, finishing with 11 tackles and a forced fumble in 15 games.

The report called Moore "a high-energy athlete capable of making plays" but noted he "still made far too many mistakes in practice, even late in the year."
