The Giants have signed kicker Josh Brown. He'll likely replace kicker Lawrence Tynes. Brown nailed all but one of his field goals in five games with the Bengals (13 of 14 including the playoffs).

The Chiefs announced Sunday the release of fullback Shane Bannon, tight end Tim Briere, linebacker Caleb Campbell, defensive back Dominique Ellis, defensive back Jean Fanor, linebacker Dexter Heyman, wide receiver Jeremy Horne, defensive end Ethan Johnson, wide receiver Brandon Kinnie, wide receiver Zeke Markshausen, kicker Matt Szymanski and wide receiver Aaron Weaver.

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said teammate Mathias Kiwanuka has his heart set of going back to the D-line after spending a season as the team's strong-side linebacker, according to the New York Daily News. General manager Jerry Reese added he sees Kiwanuka as more of a lineman than a linebacker. "I see him as still kind of a joker type player for us. But from my view I think he will probably play more on the defensive line more than he played at linebacker in the past; just from my view," Reese said. "But that is coach Coughlin’s call. You guys can talk to him about that."

Giants defensive end Justin Trattou, who has been sidelined since early in training camp at the University at Albany with ankle and heel injuries, was examined by ankle specialist Dr. David Levine and is not expected back on the field for a couple of weeks.

The New York Daily News reports the Giants officially signed receiver Louis Murphy to a one-year contract. In an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Monday, Giants general manager Jerry Reese raved about Murphy's speed. "I think he's going to add another dimension to our offense," Reese said. "This guy can take the top off your defense. He gives us a different dimension in our offense … a deep threat that we haven't had. We haven't had a guy who can run like this guy."

Giants coach Tom Coughlin told reporters Monday defensive tackle Markus Kuhn is done for the season after tearing his ACL Week 10 at Cincinnati.

The Giants have signed veteran linebacker Aaron Curry.

ESPN reports that receiver Rueben Randle is slated to be the No. 3 receiver for the Giants this year behind Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. The report says that Randle is ahead of Louis Murphy and Jerrel Jernigan on the depth chart.

The Colts waived wide receiver Kris Adams Saturday and promoted offensive tackle Tony Hills, reports the Indianapolis Star.

Giants defensive lineman Chris Canty (knee) has been added to the active roster Saturday after being removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list. The Giants placed running back Da'Rel Scott on injured reserve to make room on the roster. Scott underwent knee surgery Tuesday.

The Giants continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: linebackers Greg Jones and Jake Muasau; defensive linemen Marcus Thomas and Matt Broha; wide receivers Dan DePalma and Isaiah Stanback; and tight end Larry Donnell.

The Giants have brought back cornerback Aaron Ross, USA Today reports. He had 46 total tackles in 14 games in 2012 with zero interceptions but had some incredible seasons with the Giants.

Giants safety Stevie Brown accepted a restricted free-agent tender Tuesday, putting him under contract for $2.0 million for the upcoming season. Brown earned a starting role for the Giants last season after Kenny Phillips suffered a knee injury, and he is expected to be a starter next season as well.

The New York Daily News reports that the Giants have re-signed quarterback David Carr to be the No. 2 option behind Eli Manning. The report says after briefly looking at the market to see if he could find more money or a better opportunity, the 33-year-old Carr agreed to terms on Tuesday to re-sign with the Giants. Carr is believed to be signing a one-year contract, likely to be for the veteran minimum salary.

Corey Webster has reportedly taken a pay cut to stay with the Giants. The cornerback totaled 58 tackles, 13 passes defensed and four interceptions over 16 starts.

The Giants placed rookie DL Marvin Austin (pectoral) on IR. He had surgery Tuesday morning to fix a torn pectoral muscle.

USA Today reports that Giants chairman Steve Tisch remains confident a deal with receiver Victor Cruz is coming soon. "We're talking. (Cruz's agent) Tom Condon is talking to (Giants general manager) Jerry (Reese) and I'm personally confident that Victor wants to be a Giant, will be a Giant," Tisch said. "He's a great guy. It's just taking its time." The report says Cruz and the Giants have made some progress but a deal isn't imminent, despite a report from the New York Post stating the sides were at the "2-yard line." At this point, it seems they're barely in the red zone, but things could change as the spring winds down. Cruz has yet to sign the tender he was extended as a restricted free agent that would pay him $2.879 million. The Giants could lower the rate to $630,000 if Cruz hasn't signed by June 17, but that might only strain the negotiations.

The Giants have signed linebacker Keith Rivers to a one-year deal.

The Giants announced the release of linebacker Michael Boley on Tuesday. He was scheduled to make $4.25 million in 2012, a number that apparently didn't justify his production.

Notable players cut by the Ravens Friday include: RB Anthony Allen, S Omar Brown, LB Josh Bynes, LB Nigel Carr, WR Dorian Graham, NT Nicholas Jean-Baptiste, NT Ishmaa’ily Kitchen, DE Terrence Moore, QB Curtis Painter, WR Logan Payne, S Cyhl Quarles and OLB Chavis Williams.

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul brushed off concerns raised by head coach Tom Coughlin that he was overweight last year. He also paid no mind to concerns about his effort, saying he put pressure on the quarterback "24/7." "My numbers didn't show for it but whenever I stepped on that field everybody knew that Jason Pierre-Paul was dominating that tackle or that tight end or playing the running game," he said according to the New York Daily News. When it came to his weight, "[i]t never bothered me. People I know, they got mad and upset, but there's nothing to get upset about. He's my head coach. He saw in his eyes that I was overweight. But today, standing here today, I'm the same size I was last year."

Giants defensive back Jayron Hosley was one of three players to record an interception in Thursday’s rout of the Panthers in Week 3, and his was the very first of his career. Hosley added three tackles in the game, as the Giants won, 36-7.

The Giants selected Cincinnati tight end Adrien Robinson with a fourth-round pick. Robinson had only 12 catches and three scores in 2011 and caught just 27 passes in his career with the Bearcats. He does have good size (6-foot-5, 267 pounds) and has been known for his blocking.

The GIants drafted Ohio State defensive lineman Jonathan Hankins in the second round of the NFL Draft at No. 49 overall. The Michigan-native started a total of 25 games in his three-year career at Ohio State, including all 12 last season as the Buckeyes rolled to a perfect 12-0 record. Hankins had a two-week stretch in 2012 where he tallied 20 total tackles in Ohio State wins over Cal and Alabama-Birmingham. Hankins finished the season 55 tackles and was named a second team All-American by the Associate Press. Hankins started in all 13 games for the Buckeyes in 2011 and saw action in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2010. Hankins' sophomore year was arguable his best when he racked up 67 tackles and three sacks, both career-highs.

The Giants and defensive tackle Mike Patterson have agreed to a deal.

The New York Giants made their first round of cuts Monday and released the following players: defensive back Antwaun Molden; tight end Ryan Purvis; defensive lineman Carlton Powell; defensive back Chris Horton; wide receiver Julian Talley; wide receiver Brandon Collins; tight end Chris Hopkins; defensive back Brandon Bing; running back Joe Martinek; defensive back JoJo Nicolas; and defensive lineman Oren Wilson.

The New York Daily News reports Giants safety Tyler Sash injured his ankle Week 10 at Cincinnati. He said he "rolled" his ankle, but he hopes to be fully recovered by Week 12 vs. Green Bay. The Giants are on a bye Week 11.

Duke football coach David Cutcliffe, who has worked with both Peyton and Eli Manning in the past, held a passing camp of sorts with the Manning brothers and their receivers recently in North Carolina. Cutcliffe told ESPN that he feels good about where Eli's arm is at following their latest session. "His arm was tremendous during this round," Cutcliffe said. "We do a lot of pure, solid, good old fashioned fundamental things that we have been doing with him since he has been coming to camp with me at Tennessee and at Ole Miss. I just have a good feeling about where he is right now. I thought he left here really on fire and I'm excited about seeing what is going to happen (this season)."

Terrell Thomas signed a one-year contract to stay with the Giants. The defensive back tore an ACL for the third time in his playing career last summer; he hasn't played in an NFL game since 2010. Speculation is that the team will move him to safety. "My knee feels great," Thomas said per the official team website. "It was a little struggle at first. It was a little inconsistent with the swelling. But for the last month-and-a half I haven't dealt with any swelling at all. It's progressed the last two weeks since I started running. The doctors are really happy with the way I'm progressing. They had to increase my workload because it wasn't enough."

Knee - Questionable for start of training camp

The Giants activated safety Will Hill from a four-game suspension Saturday. The team placed cornerback Michael Coe on injured reserve in his place, ending his season, reports the New York Daily News.

USA Today reports that Ryan Nassib was supposed to be new Bills coach Doug Marrone's guy with the No. 8 overall pick or when Nassib's former Syracuse coach traded down to the 16th overall spot Thursday. But when Marrone selected former Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel to be his guy, Nassib's stock tumbled. That is, until New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin stopped his fall at pick No. 110 on Day 3. Reese is always guided by the best-available value atop his board. The Giants likely view Nassib as a backup upgrade over David Carr behind two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning. "If he doesn't ever play, that would be great," Giants general manager Jerry Reese said. "That's a good problem to have. If he needs to play, we're hoping that whatever time that is that he'll be up and ready to go."

The Giants' official team website reports the starting running back job will be won in training camp and the preseason but that David Wilson is expected to earn it. "The general feeling is the job is Wilson’s to lose," wrote website writer and veteran Giants reporter Michael Eisen. The story adds Andre Brown is "in the mix" at running back.

Leg - Probable for start of training camp

ESPN reports Sunday that the Giants have reached an agreement with free agent defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins on a three-year deal worth $8 million with $3 million guaranteed.

The Giants signed kicker David Buehler, a former Cowboys prospect. Buehler was a kickoff specialist there, attempting field goals in just one season (2010). He made 24 of 32 field goals including 4 of 6 from 50-plus yards.

Notable players cut by the Bucs Friday include: S Larry Asante, S Sean Baker, WR Landon Cox, LB Rennie Curran, LB Jacob Cutrera, TE Drake Dunsmore, K Kai Forbath, RB Robert Hughes, FB Cody Johnson, RB Mossis Madu, DT Jordan Nix, DT Frank Okam, DT Amobi Okoye (injury settlement), TE Zack Pianalto, QB Brett Ratliff, CB James Rogers, WR Jordan Shipley, WR Tiquan Underwood, DT Teryl White and DL E.J. Wilson.

The Giants have signed cornerback Dante Hughes to replace cornerback Brian Witherspoon, who tore his ACL for the second time in as many years on Wednesday. Witherspoon was waived/injured. Hughes spent two seasons with the Colts and three with the Chargers before trying out at the Giants rookie mini-camp two weeks ago. Hughes' best season came last year when he had 42 tackles and three passes defensed for the Chargers.

Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara was ruled inactive Week 15 at Atlanta because of a hamstring injury. It's the third game this season he missed due to injury.

Giants CB Bruce Johnson left practice with a ruptured Achilles' tendon. All indications are that his season is likely over.

The Giants posted an update on fullback Henry Hynoski. The veteran "suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament and a chip fracture to the lateral plateau." The injuries require surgery. He hopes to be ready in time for Week 1. "I am going to set my mind to being ready for the first game of the regular season," said Hynoski. "They said that is not an unrealistic goal, and I will do everything in my power to be ready for the start of the season."

Knee - Out for preseason. Questionable for Week 1 at Dallas

Giants defensive end Justin Tuck returned to action Week 17 vs. Philadelphia after sitting out Week 16 with a shoulder injury. He was listed as questionable for Week 17.

The Steelers continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: defensive backs Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith, Terrence Frederick and Josh Victorian; linebackers Brandon Hicks and Marshall McFadden; defensive linemen Corbin Bryant, Ikponmwosa Igbinosun and Jake Stoller; quarterback Jerrod Johnson; running back DuJuan Harris; and wide receivers Tyler Beiler, Toney Clemons, David Gilreath, Marquis Maze and Derrick Williams.

Giants tight end Travis Beckum was declared out for the Week 13 Monday night game against Washington, reports the New York Daily News Saturday. Beckum could not practice Saturday due to a knee issue.

Giants DL Jimmy Kennedy was re-instated by the NFL on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

The Giants said Tuesday defensive tackle Martin Parker has a herniated disc in his back that will require surgery.

The New York Daily News reports Hakeem Nicks was absent from the team's first day of OTA workouts Wednesday, just hours after attending a charity event in New York the night before and telling reporters he felt good physically following knee surgery. He had attended offseason program. "He should be here," an irked coach Tom Coughlin said, ruling out injury for the reason he's absent.

Knee - Probable for start of training camp

Giants defensive back Antrel Rolle led the team with 10 tackles in Sunday's 33-14 loss to the Ravens.

The Giants have re-signed reserve tight end Bear Pascoe to a one-year deal.

The Giants have signed tight end Michael Palmer.

Looking to bolster their linebacker unit, the Giants signed former Cowboys linebacker Dan Connor on Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Connor started five games at middle linebacker for Dallas last season, making 56 tackles. He also started three games at weakside linebacker. He played his first four seasons with the Panthers. "Being able stay in the same division is great," said Connor, who was released by Dallas on Monday.

The agent for running back Ryan Torain says his client has re-signed with the Giants.

New Giants tight end Brandon Myers told the Newark Star-Ledger he played the entire 2012 season with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder. Myers specifically said the injury held him back as a blocker. He expects to be at full strength for spring OTAs.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Giants are trying to make rookie Damontre Moore a "joker" hybrid player, able to work as either a defensive end or an outside linebacker. Mathias Kiwanuka has been in that role for years. Moore had 26.5 sacks over three years at Texas A&M and has the size to be a versatile weapon.

The Giants signed free agent safety Ryan Mundy, formerly of the Steelers.

Giants LB Jacquian Williams was credited with two tackles in Week 6 against Buffalo. He also managed a pass defensed.

The Giants announced Wednesday that Mark Herzlich will start in the place of injured Chase Blackburn (hamstring) at middle linebacker in Week 9 against the Steelers. It will be Herzlich's first start of the season.

The Giants placed WR Michael Clayton on IR on Saturday. Clayton had been added to the official injury report for the Monday night game in New Orleans in Week 12 earlier on Saturday. Clayton was questionable with a knee injury but the Giants decided to end his season instead as it was discovered that he has a torn meniscus, reports the Giants' official site. Clayton will have surgery on Monday.

ESPN reports free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw was cleared for all football activities by Dr. Robert Anderson. That means his injured foot has healed and he's ready for a team to acquire his services. He's been linked to the Steelers and Bengals lately.

The Giants released several players on the way to the final 53 for the active roster. Among the players cut were LB Phillip Dillard, LB Adrian Tracy, QB Ryan Perrilloux, RB Andre Brown and Charles Scott, TE Christian Hopkins, WR Darius Reynaud, DEs Ayanga Okpokowuruk, Craig Marshall, Alex Hall and Justin Trattou and Dwayne Hendricks and DBs Joe Burnett, David Sims and Jerrard Tarrant. TE Daniel Coats, DT Gabe Watson and K Rhys Lloyd.

The New York Daily News reports that the Giants re-signed receiver Ramses Barden to a one-year deal. "This is where I wanted to be and now I’m here," Barden said. "I was out there listening to the calls, getting back into the rhythm of the cadence, enjoying the camaraderie and absorbing everything. I remember everything. I’ve had four years to soak it all up. I’m happy to be back on the field. I feel great. I expect the best.”

Giants rookie LB Spencer Paysinger left Week 13 against the Packers due to a hamstring injury. Paysinger sustained the injury in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. He did not record a tackle prior to leaving the game.

The Giants placed DB Justin Tryon on injured reserve Monday after breaking his arm Week 8 against the Dolphins.

Langley, CB Doyle Miller, TE Shawn Nelson, QB Josh Nesbitt and WR Naaman Roosevelt. Additionally the team waived/injured FS Jon Corto, WR Felton Huggins and OLB Jammie Kirlew. RB Bruce Hall was placed on injured reserve.

Giants running back Kregg Lumpkin played a bigger role than expected on offense Week 15 at Atlanta with starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw sidelined by a knee injury. Lumpkin managed nine carries for 42 yards, which barely trailed David Wilson's team-high 55 rushing yards on 12 carries. Lumpkin had no catches in the game and lost a fumble late in the fourth quarter.

The New Orleans Saints began paring down their roster Monday and released the following players: quarterback Luke McCown; tight end Jake Byrne; wide receivers Marques Clark, Kevin Hardy and Derek Moye; defensive backs Kamaal McIlwain, Cord Parks and Johnny Thomas; defensive linemen Remi Ayodele, Swanson Miller and Donavan Robinson; and linebacker Aaron Tevis.

The Giants re-signed defensive tackle Shaun Rogers, who missed the 2012 season with a blood clot in his leg.

Leg - Questionable for start of training camp

The Giants have signed kicker Josh Brown, likely signaling the end of Lawrence Tynes' tenure with the team.

Giants DB Deon Grant recorded his first interception of the season in Week 9 against the Patriots. He picked off QB Tom Brady in the third quarter and also finished with four tackles in the 24-20 win.

The Giants announced that they have re-signed DT Rocky Bernard, who was released by the team less than a week ago. Bernard was reportedly asked to renegotiate his deal when the lockout ended, but he and the team couldn’t come to an agreement at the time.

The Sports Xchange reports that LB Zak DeOssie (back) will not be able to participate in two-a-days until he receives approval from the medical staff.

The Detroit Lions made their first round of cuts Monday and released the following players: wide receivers Jarett Dillard and Terrence Toliver; running backs James Bryant and Stephfon Green; defensive back Sean Jones; linebacker Slade Norris and defensive lineman Bobby Skinner.

Giants defensive lineman Linval Joseph doubled his sack total for the season in Week 8 against the Cowboys. He brought down quarterback Tony Romo twice and finished with three tackles in the 29-24 win.

Giants receiver Jerrel Jernigan told the New York Post he struggled to adapt to the team's offense last season but has worked this offseason to digest the offense. He didn't make a single catch last year. "For me last year, coming in without OTAs, the offseason was even tougher for me, coming right in, just throw me in the fire coming from a spread offense," Jernigan said. "This offseason helped me a lot. I’m understanding more than I did last year and I’m more comfortable out there. I’m just feeling better in the offense, understanding the concepts more. I’m not thinking any more, I’m going out and just reacting to the coverages as I see them."
