Lowell Rose
News
The 49ers on Thursday announced they have signed cornerback Eric Wright to a one-year contract and have placed him on the Non-Football Injury/Illness List. In order to make room for Wright on the roster, the team has waived cornerback Lowell Rose.

"We are pleased to welcome Eric to the 49ers organization and look forward to his contributions," said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke. "Eric is currently tending to a personal matter and he will join the team as soon as possible."

John Griffin
News
Lions linebacker Travis Lewis will not go unpunished for his leg-breaking hit on Jets tailback John Griffin. Lewis has been slapped with a $15,750 for his horse-collar tackle that resulted in the injury, reports Detroit Lions News.
Geno Smith
News
Jets coach Rex Ryan told Pro Football Talk that the quarterback competition between Geno Smith and Michael Vick won't be a distraction because "we're not going to let somebody else's agenda get in our way." Ryan presumably referred to the media.

Ryan also reiterated that Smith, who accounted for 18 touchdowns and 25 turnovers as a rookie, will be hard to beat out.

Sheldon Richardson
News
The awards for the 2013 NFL season were announced Saturday, and Packers running back Eddie Lacy and Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson won rookie of the year honors for offense and defense, respectively.

Lacy, the 61st overall pick out of Alabama, had 284 carries for 1,178 yards (4.1 yards per carry), with 11 touchdowns in his first year in the league. Richardson, a first-round pick out of Missouri, registered 77 tackles and 3.5 sacks while starting all 16 games this season for the Jets.
Darrin Walls
News
The Jets announced they have re-signed a pair of impending free agents Wednesday, inking defensive backs Ellis Lankster and Darrin Walls prior to their entrance to free agency.

Lankster spent most of the 2013 season on special teams, recording 20 tackles in kick coverage. Walls spent more of his time on defense, finishing with 24 tackles and five passes defended in 16 games.

Matt Simms
News
Jets backup quarterback Matt Simms has signed a one-year deal to stay with the team, reports NorthJersey.com. He appeared in three games behind starter Geno Smith, completing 16 of 31 throws for 156 yards and a touchdown with one interception.

Damon Harrison
News
The Jets entered Week 2 with a lengthy injury report for Thursday's game against the Patriots, but all but three players were able to take the field.

The following players, listed as probable for the game, were able to suit up and are active for the game: linebackers Nick Bellore (oblique) and Garrett McIntyre (ribs); defensive linemen Sheldon Richardson (shoulder), Damon Harrison (knee) and Kenrick Ellis (back); defensive back Dee Milliner (hip); wide receiver Clyde Gates (knee) and tight end Jeff Cumberland (chin).

Saalim Hakim
News
The Saints terminated the contract of Courtney Roby, a longtime special teams ace and a wide receiver for New Orleans. Other contracts terminated: defensive end Jay Richardson, cornerback Chris Carr and safety Jim Leonhard. Center Eric Olsen was placed on Injured Reserve.

In addition, the Saints waived the following 17 players from the roster: quarterback Ryan Griffin, wide receiver Preston Parker, fullback Austin Johnson, wide receiver Saalim Hakim, guard Elliott Mealer, tight end Keavon Milton, tight end Mike Higgins, guard Andrew Tiller, center Jeremiah Warren, linebacker Rayford Shipman, linebacker Rufus Johnson, defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui, safety Jerico Nelson, linebacker Baraka Atkins, tackle Marcel Jones, cornerback Korey Lindsey and cornerback Jumal Rolle.
Stephen Hill
News
Jets brass "is skeptical of Stephen Hill's ability to become a reliable piece to the puzzle in 2014 and beyond," reports the New York Daily News. The paper expects the Jets to target receivers in free agency and early in the draft.

Hill has 45 catches over his first two seasons.

Brandon Hardin
News
The Jets have signed safety Brandon Hardin to a reserve-futures contract. He had worked out with the team in mid-December after being waived by Chicago in late October.

Santonio Holmes
News
Free agent wide receiver Santonio Holmes expected to take his time in looking for a new job, after he was cut by the Jets this offseason.

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Holmes is expected to make a decision on his next team once the draft is complete. With a deep receiver class, he wants to see where his best chance for playing time will be before he makes a decision.

Holmes was limited to 11 games a year ago with the Jet, finishing with 23 receptions for 456 yards and one touchdown. He has not topped 800 yards since leaving the Steelers in 2009.

Green, Campbell, Ijalana and Aboushi are all healthy scratches.

All 11 players were listed as probable.
Troy Davis
News
The Jets placed linebacker Troy Davis on injured reserve Tuesday. He suffered a chest injury Week 12 against the Ravens.
Antonio Allen
News
The signing of future Hall of Fame free safety Ed Reed has taken a severe toll on the playing time of second-year safety Antonio Allen. Allen played in 63 percent of the snaps in the first nine games and just 11 percent since as Reed has been on the field 91 percent of the time, per the New York Daily News.

That ratio could be changing, however. The Jets have performed no better against the pass since the arrival of Reed, who has yet to be on the winning side this year. Rex Ryan said he is planning on giving Allen more reps.

"(Allen) continues to play at a high level and I have to get him on the field more," Ryan said.

The Jets host Oakland on Sunday.

David Nelson
News
Jets wide receiver David Nelson was bombarded with comments from former Browns teammates before the teams met in December about the strange behavior exhibited by fellow wideout Davone Bess.

Nelson, who was waived by the Browns before the season, had not noticed anything unusual about Bess as a teammate.

"I had tremendous respect for Bess," Nelson told ESPN. "When I was there, our lockers were next to each other's. He was excited to be there. I found him to be great for Josh (Gordon). He worked hard. Josh saw that. Everybody saw that.

"The stuff I heard (before the game) was all uncharacteristic of things I'd seen when I was there. He ended up leading the league in drops (he was actually second with 14) and he'd never done that before. Everything that happened was uncharacteristic of him, so you know something must have happened to him."

Bess was later placed on the non-football injury list due to his personal problems, which was followed by his well-chronicled bizarre behavior that led to his arrest.

Eric Decker
News
The past two seasons have been great for Eric Decker as he's posted over 1,000 yards and 11-plus touchdowns in each. Hitting those marks for a third straight season now that he's signed with the Jets seems very far fetched.

Let's start with the obvious: Decker won't have Peyton Manning throwing him passes anymore. Now it'll be at the very worst Geno Smith and at the very best a free agent like Michael Vick. That's a huge step down. As you'll read in some analysis coming to the site soon, I credit Manning with helping Decker put up big numbers. Playing in a strong offense opposite Demaryius Thomas doesn't hurt things either.

In that same analysis you'll see that I'm not a huge fan of Decker's game. In short, his best quality is his size but he doesn't always use it to his advantage. He also doesn't have speed or hands worthy of a $15 million signing bonus.

Every year we see big-name receivers change teams via free agency and most of the time they struggle to meet expectations. My expectations for Decker in 2014 are for maybe 1,000 yards but well under 11 touchdowns -- maybe six. I'd consider him a borderline No. 2/No. 3 Fantasy wideout.

Tommy Bohanon
News
Jets wide receiver David Nelson and fullback Tommy Bohanon combined for five catches during a 37-27 win Week 14 vs. Oakland.

Nelson collected most of the stats between the two, totaling four catches for 32 yards on four targets. Bohanon had one catch for 6 yards on two catches.

The Jets are back in action Week 15 at Carolina.

Ryan Quigley
News
On Monday the Jets waived or released the following players: WR Joe Collins, S Donnie Fletcher, G Patrick Ford, T Trey Gilleo, S Bret Lockett, RB-KR Joe McKnight, G Stephen Peterman, LB Sean Progar-Jackson, P Ryan Quigley, WR Marcus Rucker, LS Patrick Scales, RB Chad Spann, WR K.J. Stroud and WR Rahsaan Vaughn.
Patrick Ford
News
The Patriots re-signed offensive lineman R.J. Dill to the practice squad and released tackle Patrick Ford from the squad.
Ellis Lankster

Oday Aboushi
News
Cornerback Ellis Lankster (jaw) is the lone injured player on the inactive report submitted Sunday by the Jets.

Their healthy inactives are offensive linemen Ben Ijalana, William Campbell and Oday Aboushi, linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, quarterback David Garrard and tight end Chris Pantale.

T.J. Barnes
News
The Jets signed tight end Colin Anderson, defensive tackles T.J. Barnes and Tevita Finau, receivers Michael Campbell and Dwight Jones, center Dalton Freeman, linebacker Tim Fugger and safety Rontez Miles to reserve/futures contracts.
Antwan Barnes
News

Nick Bellore
News
Jets linebacker Nick Bellore, a special teams ace who had 17 tackles last year, signed his restricted free agent tender of $1.43 million for 2014.
Michael Vick
News
Eagles coach Chip Kelly said quarterback Michael Vick has "got tremendous arm skill" and a lot of good football left in him. Vick left Philly for the Jets, signing a one-year deal.

"I don’t know too many guys in the league that have the arm that Mike does," Kelly said. "There’s still days in practice in December when he rips a couple and you’re just like, ‘Whoa.’ He can throw the football. He still has the ability.”

Kelly said Vick is probably not as fast as he was when he entered the league, “but when he first came into the league, he was the fastest guy to ever play the position. A slower version of Michael is a lot faster than maybe every other quarterback in the league, with the exception of one or two."

Garrett McIntyre
News
The Jets announced they've re-signed outside linebacker Garrett McIntyre, who had 20 tackles and two sacks last year.
Mike Goodson
News
With the Jets signing Chris Johnson on Wednesday, the rest of their backfield should start to take shape, reports the New York Daily News.

The report says Johnson and Chris Ivory will work as a tandem, and Bilal Powell will be the No. 3 running back. Mike Goodson is expected to be released before the start of the season.

Ed Reed
News
The Jets are unlikely to bring back safety Ed Reed for 2014, reports ESPN.

Reed, 35, is an unrestricted free agent, but the report says he doesn't figure in the immediate plans. He could be a fallback option if there's an injury down the line.

Reed, who had 27 tackles and three interceptions in 14 games in 2013, said he would like to play one more year.

Kyle Wilson
News
Jets linebacker Quinton Coples (ankle), defensive back Antonio Cromartie (hip, knee), defensive lineman Kenrick Ellis (back), defensive back Jaiquawn Jarrett (knee), defensive back Dee Milliner (hamstring), wide receiver David Nelson (hamstring), defensive back Darrin Walls (shoulder) and defensive back Kyle Wilson (concussion) are active for Week 7 against the Patriots. They were all listed as probable on Friday's injury report.
Jeff Cumberland
News
The contract signed by Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland will run three years, the New York Daily News has reported. It is worth $3.7 million excluding incentives with $1 million guaranteed.
David Garrard

Muhammad Wilkerson
News
Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson said he will not hold out this summer if the team picks up the fifth-year option in his current contract instead of signing him to a more lucrative long-term deal, reports the New York Post.

Wilkerson said talks about a long-term contract are ongoing between his agent and the Jets, and he said he wants to be a "Jet for life."

"I'm not holding out. My agent is talking with (GM John) Idzik, and that's all I can say," Wilkerson said. "I have nothing to do with that. I'm just going to let him take care of that. That's his job. I'm just here to play ball. It is what it is. If [a long-term deal] happens, it happens. I don't control what goes on upstairs."

Leger Douzable
News
The Jets announced a pair of signings Wednesday evening, the smaller of which was the re-signing of defensive lineman Leger Douzable to a one-year deal.

Douzable spent the 2013 session with the Jets, recording 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 16 games.

Nick Mangold
News
Five Jets offensive players are listed as probable for Sunday at Miami, including wideouts Santonio Holmes (foot/hamstring) and Jeremy Kerley (elbow).

The others are tackle Austin Howard and tight end Kellen Winslow with knee issues and center Nick Mangold (toe).

Caleb Schlauderaff
No Updates
Bilal Powell

Konrad Reuland
News

Jaiquawn Jarrett
News

News
The Jets re-signed 33-year-old outside linebacker Calvin Pace to a two-year, $5 million deal, reports Pro Football Talk. He had 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and 53 tackles while playing every game last season.
Clyde Gates
News
The Jets announced a flurry of moves Tuesday. They first placed wide receiver Clyde Gates (shoulder) and running back Mike Goodson (knee) on injured reserve.

To take their spots on the roster, the Jets signed wide receiver Greg Salas off the Eagles' practice squad and wide receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs.

The Jets also made an addition to the practice squad by adding running back Miguel Maysonet.

Josh Mauga
News
The Jets placed inside linebacker Josh Mauga (back) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Kellen Winslow
News
Free agent tight end Kellen Winslow won't return to the Jets, reports ESPN.com. Winslow played 12 games last season, catching 31 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He'll turn 31 in July.
David Harris
News
Though defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson led the Jets in tackles with nine Week 12 at Baltimore, linebackers David Harris and DeMario Davis weren't far off. Both had eight tackles, including five solo.

Both players are prolific tacklers. Harris is averaging 7.7 in 11 games. Davis is averaging 7.1.

Lex Hilliard
News
Jets fullback Lex Hilliard is lost for the season with a broken scapula, confirms the New York Daily News. Hilliard seemed destined for time on the bench if he had remained healthy. Rookie Bahanon was well on his way to beating him out for the starting spot.
D'Brickashaw Ferguson
News
The Jets had two players ejected towards the end of Thursday's game against the Patriots, for their involvement in a scuffle. With less than a minute remaining, offensive linemen Willie Colon and D'Brickashaw Ferguson were tossed for their part in a fight near the Patriots' sideline.
