Boothe, who turns 31 by the time the season starts, has started each game for New York over the past two seasons. Raiders coach Dennis Allen praised running back Darren McFadden's work in Sunday's loss to the Texans. "I thought he ran the ball hard," Allen told ESPN.com.

"I thought he looked explosive. That was good to see. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to get him more opportunities."

With Maurice Jones-Drew (hand) sitting out, McFadden ran 12 times for 37 yards (3.1 ypc) and a touchdown and caught two passes for 31 yards.

Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore took another step back in a Week 2 loss to the Texans on Sunday.

Moore was held to one catch for 11 yards in the first half. He finished the game with three catches for 29 yards. He was targeted five times in a 30-14 defeat. Through two weeks, Moore has five catches for 37 yards.

The Raiders will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.

The Raiders received minor contributions from several role players in a Week 2 loss to the Texans. Running back Latavius Murray took a backseat to Darren McFadden and was limited to only one handoff for a gain of 6 yards. Fullback Marcel Reece caught one pass for a gain of 11 yards, while receiver Brice Butler was held to one reception for minus-2 yards.

Raiders linebacker and first-round pick Khalil Mack has struggled in two preseason games, according to CSNBayArea.com.

Mack managed just two tackles in the Friday defeat of Detroit, but none against the first team offense. He did, however, play better than he did in the preseason opener, where it has been reported he was late to recognize and adjust to the Minnesota offense. Dennis Allen expressed optimism in regard to his progress.

"There wasn't a ton of production from a standpoint of tackles or assists or sacks or whatever the case may be, but I thought he made improvement from where he was at last week," Allen said. "We'll have plenty more opportunities to do different things and get him maybe a little more involved early in the game. ... Khalil Mack is going to be just fine."

Free agent defensive back Charles Woodson won't be changing addresses for the upcoming season, after agreeing to return to the Raiders on a one-year deal, according to ESPN.com Wednesday.

The 27-year-old put together a very productive 2013 season, finishing with a career-high 97 tackles. He added three forced fumbles and one interception in his return to Oakland after seven seasons in Green Bay.

Raiders linebacker Miles Burris said he's fully healthy after a 2013 season in which he was plagued by knee problems. He had knee surgery following his 2012 rookie season.

"There’s nothing like playing the game of football and playing the game of football healthy," Burris told CSNBayArea.com. "You’re always going to be nicked up but I’m feeling great and enjoying playing the game."

Burris made 15 starts as a rookie and finished with 62 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and three passes defensed. He practiced with the first team at weakside linebacker this offseason, the report said.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr surpassed the 250-yard mark in a rough outing at home against the Texans in Week 2.

Carr was picked off by Kareem Jackson, who nearly took it back for a touchdown. It was Carr's first interception of the season. He was intercepted by Brooks Reed in the fourth quarter before firing a 9-yard touchdown pass to James Jones with 13 seconds remaining. He finished the game with 263 yards through the air while completing 27 of 42 attempts. He had one touchdown and two interceptions, registering a 69.8 passer rating in a 30-14 defeat.

Carr has 414 passing yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions through his first two career games. He will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.

Raiders wide receiver James Jones lost a fumble but still enjoyed a productive performance with a late touchdown Week 2 at home against the Texans.

Jones caught a back-shoulder pass from Derek Carr before fumbling once. He recovered his own fumble, but was stripped again by Johnathan Joseph on what would have been a huge gain. He came down with a 5-yard touchdown reception with 13 seconds left in the game.

He was targeted a game-high 14 times and finished with nine catches for 112 yards and a touchdown, averaging 12.4 yards per grab. Through two games, he has 12 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

The Raiders will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.

The Raiders made the offensive line a priority in the early hours of free agency, adding their second lineman in the part of Austin Howard Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.

Howard spent most of three years with the Jets, emerging as a starter over the last two seasons and earning himself a $30 million deal from the Raiders over five years, with $15 million in guaranteed money. Howard will likely start at right tackle for the Raiders, the position he filled in New York.

Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes caught his first pass of the season and finished as the team's second-leading receiver in a Week 2 loss to the Texans on Sunday.

Holmes was limited to one grab for a gain of 7 yards in the first half. He bounced back with catches for 12, 15, 6 and 5 yards, all of which came on the final drive of the game for the Raiders. He was targeted seven times and finished with five catches for 45 yards, averaging 9.0 yards per grab in a 30-14 defeat.

The Raiders will travel to New England for a Week 3 showdown against the Patriots.
