Darren McFadden
News
Raiders running back Darren McFadden might have received many more carries Sunday against the host Browns had his team not been behind the entire game. But he made good use of the 12 he did get - at least until one huge mistake.

McFadden rushed for 59 yards for a 4.9 YPC average. He also caught four passes for 26 yards. He began strong with a 16-yard burst up the middle on his first carry, but his fumble in Browns territory with 1:12 left in the third quarter and his team down just 9-6 proved deadly. The Raiders never recovered.

He will seek a more complete effort when Oakland plays at Seattle next Sunday.

Menelik Watson
News
Raiders tackle Khalif Barnes (quad) returned to practice Wednesday, but he may not regain his starting role from Menelik Watson, CSNBayArea.com reports.

Watson has allowed just two pressures in two starts, but coach Tony Sparano was noncommittal earlier in the week when asked about the situation. "We’re going to have some decisions to make," Sparano said Monday. "Menelik did a great job in there again (on Sunday). Khalif has been a real staple for me at a bunch of positions, as you know. I really feel like he’s one of the leaders of that group and he hasn’t been out there, but Menelik has done a really good job. We’ll find ways to keep them all involved and to keep them all going. The good news is that Menelik is a young player right now that is getting better."

Watson ran with the first team during the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media.

Khalif Barnes
News
All the key injured Raiders listed as questionable or probable for the Sunday game in Cleveland have been cleared.

The active questionable players are offensive lineman Khalif Barnes (quad), fullback Marcel Reece (quad), cornerback Carlos Rogers (knee) and defensive end Justin Tuck (knee). The probable in that group is offensive lineman Austin Howard (neck).

Mychal Rivera
News
Raiders tight end Mychal Rivera put together the best performance of his career in Week 8, in a 23-13 loss to the Browns.

Rivera, who had just 101 yards through the first six games, went off for 83 yards Sunday. He hauled in seven passes on nine targets in the game, all of which represent his best totals of the season.

Rivera showed some promise as a rookie, but had been mostly silent before Sunday's game. He has a limited track record of success, so you probably need to see more from Rivera before considering adding him. Still, Rivera might be an interesting prospect to monitor in the second half of the season.
