Ryan Shazier
News
Steelers tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) was unable to practice and received the thumbs-down for Week 14 against Cincinnati. Gilbert was the only player on Pittsburgh's final injury report ruled out for Sunday. Linebacker James Harrison (knee) also missed practice all week and is unlikely to play. He was ruled as doubtful.

Nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder) was the only player on the report designated as questionable, while cornerback Cortez Allen (thumb), cornerback Brice McCain (hamstring), tight end Heath Miller (rest), safety Troy Polamalu (illness), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (rest), linebacker Ryan Shazier (ankle) and cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder) were deemed probable.

Antonio Brown
News
Steelers super wideout Antonio Brown did not get a chance Sunday at a showdown against fellow prolific wide receiver Julio Jones, who was injured and out for Atlanta. But he certainly didn't perform like it mattered.

Brown caught all of his 10 targets for 123 yards to give him 1,498 on the season. His 115 catches establishes an all-time single-season mark for the Steelers while his yardage is one short of the record he set a year ago.

That is likely to fall when Pittsburgh hosts Kansas City next Sunday.

Jarvis Jones
News
While the Steelers were able to activate linebacker Jarvis Jones form short-term IR, they had to place cornerback Cortez Allen on IR in order to accommodate Jones on the 53-man roster.

Jones played in three games before he suffered a wrist injury and was then placed on short-term IR. Allen (thumb) was listed as probable heading into Week 14 against Cincinnati.

Jordan Sullen
News
The Bears have signed guard Conor Boffeli and receiver Rashad Ross to the practice squad, according to WSCR 670.

In order to make room on the practice squad, the team parted ways with cornerback Jordan Sullen . Ross had been with the Bears this season, but was waived a few days ago. The club decided to bring him back as a member of the practice squad.

Cam Thomas
News
The Steelers signed Cam Thomas to play defensive end in their 3-4 scheme, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Thomas primarily played nose tackle for the Chargers. He could still see snaps at the nose in Pittsburgh, the report said.
Marcus Gilbert
News
The Steelers have cleared two of their three significant probables for their Sunday game against Atlanta. Tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle) has been ruled out. The two green-lighted are cornerback William Gay (quad) and center Maurkice Pouncey (ankle).

LaDarius Perkins
News
The Packers have announced several cuts, including running backs Michael Hill and LaDarius Perkins.

Also gone are offensive linemen John Fullington and Jordan McCray, as well as cornerback Ryan White.

Markus Wheaton
News
As usual, no Steelers receiver could match what Antonio Brown produced Sunday against Atlanta. But a trio certainly helped the team to victory.

The best of the bunch were tight end Heath Miller, whose 26-yard snag late in the third quarter helped him finish with 68 yards on four receptions, and wideout Markus Wheaton, who made good on all five targets for 66 yards. Martavis Bryant pitched in with three catches for 31 yards.

James Harrison
News
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told reporters Tuesday the team will monitor how James Harrison (knee), Ike Taylor (forearm) and Marcus Gilbert (ankle) react to their aliments in practice this week before determining their playing status.

Of the three, only Taylor was able to play during Week 14’s victory over the Bengals. The Steelers play at Atlanta Sunday.

Among the defensive players let go are linemen Isaako Aaitui, Garrison Smith, Tevin Mims and D'Aundre Reed, linebacker Andrew Wilson and defensive backs Jordan Kovacs and Kevin Fogg. Placekicker Jake Rogers has also been waived.

The Dolphins have also placed defensive tackle on IR and defensive end Dion Jordan and safety Reshad Jones on the reserve/suspended list.

Cortez Allen

The other players on their injury report submitted Friday are probable. They are wide receivers Martavis Bryant (illness) and Markus Wheaton (groin), linebacker James Harrison (illness), guard Ramon Foster (ankle) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle).

Brad Wing
News
Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said recently-signed punter Brad Wing has matured.

“It's a no-lose situation for us,” Colbert told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “He got married recently and has a child, and players mature as the years go. If we weren't comfortable with (his) character, we don't sign him.”

Incumbent punter Mat McBriar is a free agent.

Cody Wallace
News
The Steelers will go into Week 2 with all of their stud offensive players.

A number of important players entered the week listed as probable on the injury report. Nearly all of them are active Week 2 against the Steelers. Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Heath Miller, Ben Roethlisberger, Cody Wallace and Markus Wheaton were all cleared to play. While they were all on the injury report, only Wallace was dealing with an injury. The rest missed practice for non-injury reasons.

On defense, the Steelers will have Brett Keisel, Steve McLendon, Troy Polamalu, Ike Taylor, Shamarko Thomas and Vince Williams. Wallace was dealing with an ankle issue, but the rest were listed for non-injury reasons.

Shaun Suisham
News
Steelers placekicker Shaun Suisham certainly played a role in his team's Week 15 win in Atlanta. He nailed two field goal attempts of 38 yards in the first quarter and hit on all three extra points.
Le'Veon Bell
News
Steelers featured back Le'Veon Bell was held to just 47 yards on 20 carries Sunday in Atlanta.

That's the bad news. The good news is that he scored on a 1-yard run with time running out in the first half and added a 13-yard bolt into the end zone early in the fourth to provide a two-toucdown lead. He also caught five of his seven targets for 72 yards.

The big numbers allowed Bell to become the all-time Steelers single-season leader in overall yards. He surpassed fellow running back Barry Foster, who established the mark in 1992.

Bell will add to his total next Sunday against Kansas City.

Antwon Blake
News
The Steelers haven't said how long starting cornerback Ike Taylor will be out due to his broken forearm, but the injury typically requires six to eight weeks to heal, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. The paper expects William Gay and Antwon Blake to fill in for Taylor.
Darrius Heyward-Bey
News
Safety Ross Ventrone (hamstring) has been added to the list of Steelers who have been ruled out for the Sunday game against the host Jets. He was limited in the last two practices.

Already deemed out were fellow safeties Shamarko Thomas (hamstring), Troy Polamalu (knee), linebacker Ryan Shazier (ankle) and cornerback Ike Taylor (forearm).

The injury-related probables are linebacker Jason Worilds (abdomen) and wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey (hamstring).

They're all on a bye Week 12.

Goodwin and Derek Moye, offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva, defensive backs Shaquille Richardson and Ross Ventrone, defensive linemen Josh Mauro and Nick Williams, running back Josh Harris, tight end Rob Blanchflower and linebacker Howard Jones to their practice squad.
Cameron Heyward
News
The Steelers have listed corner back Ike Taylor as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Taylor, who left last week's game against the Bengals with a forearm injury, was unable to practice most of the week.

Linebacker James Harrison , who missed last week's game with a knee injury, is questionable.

The following players are probable for Pittsburgh: Ben Roethlisberger, William Gay, Marcus Gilbert, Cameron Heyward, Heath Miller and Maurkice Pouncey.

Robert Golden
News
The Steelers DST enjoyed itself Sunday night in Carolina, producing three sacks, two turnovers and a touchdown in a 37-19 win.

The biggest play came early in the fourth quarter when the Panthers' Philly Brown fumbled on a punt return and safety Robert Golden recovered in the end zone. It was one of two fumble recoveries for Pittsburgh, which got a sack-fumble from outside linebacker Jarvis Jones.

Linebacker Arthur Moats and nose tackle Steve McLendon also sacked Cam Newton. Pittsburgh allowed just 42 rushing yards in what was easily its top defensive performance this year.

The Steelers DST has a chance to dominate again Week 4 against the lowly Buccaneers.

Vince Williams

Steelers tight end Michael Palmer finally recorded his first catch of the season Week 5 at Jacksonville, and he made it count in a 17-9 win. Palmer's lone reception Sunday was a 1-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, which gave Pittsburgh a 10-3 lead.

The touchdown catch was the fourth of Palmer's career and first since 2012 with the Falcons. The Steelers are back in action Week 6 at Cleveland.

Heath Miller

Greg Warren
News
Steelers linebacker Sean Spence (knee), tight end Matt Spaeth (hamstring) and long snapper Greg Warren (knee) are all on pace to play the season opener. All three players practiced and were listed as probable for Week 1 against the Browns.

News
The Steelers announced defensive end Brett Keisel will miss the remainder of the season with a triceps injury. The team placed him on the injured reserve list and signed defensive end Clifton Geathers on Monday, per the team's official website. Keisel's season ends with 14 total tackles, one sack and one interception.

News
Steelers linebackers coach Keith Butler told linebacker Sean Spence that Spence will start Sunday against the Bucs in place of the injured Ryan Shazier, according to ESPN.

"The tunnel was dark for me for a long time, but I stayed positive and Steelers Nation stayed behind me," said Spence, who shredded his left knee in a 2012 preseason game and dislocated his knee cap while also sustaining nerve damage. "I finally get to get some good quality reps on defense."

Troy Polamalu

Ben Roethlisberger
News
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had another big passing performance with 360 yards Week 15 against the Falcons, giving him at least 340 in four of his last five games.

But where were the touchdowns? He had zero, zip, nada. And since his back-to-back six-touchdown games in Weeks 8 and 9, that's been the norm. He's had no more than one in three of those five.

Meanwhile, Le'Veon Bell has had six of his seven rushing touchdowns this season during that same stretch ...

I think you can see where I'm going with this. For more major takeaways from Week 15, be sure to check out my latest post to the Fantasy Football Today blog.

Running back LeGarrette Blount pitched in with six carries for 21 yards and two catches for 11 yards.

Shamarko Thomas
News

Steve McLendon

Dan McCullers-Sanders
News
The Steelers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 9 matchup with the Ravens: cornerbacks Ike Taylor (forearm) and B.W. Webb, safety Ross Ventrone (hamstring), quarterback Landry Jones, nose tackle Dan McCullers, guard Christopher Hubbard and wide receiver Justin Brown.

Both Taylor and Ventrone had been ruled out on the team's final injury report of the week, so their absence is not a surprise. All nine players listed as probable to play are active for Sunday's game.

Martavis Bryant
News
Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant made the most of his chances in Week 14, but he was still third among the team's wide receivers in snaps in the win over the Bengals.

Bryant played 24 snaps, just two more than Lance Moore, who had just one catch. Bryant was second on the team with 109 yards, the majority of which came on a 94-yard touchdown, however, he played 17 fewer snaps than Markus Wheaton, who was second among the team's receivers in that regard.

Bryant's upside is incredible, given his big-play ability. However, if he doesn't hit on a long touchdown, it's awfully hard to rely on him, given his role. The Steelers have a great matchup on the way in Week 15 against the Falcons, but Antonio Brown is the only player with a consistent enough role to feel comfortable relying on.
