Ryan Shazier
News
Steelers first-round pick Ryan Shazier made a smashing preseason debut Saturday night. The linebacker out of Ohio State had nine tackles and an interception, prompting fellow linebacker Lawrence Timmons to describe his performance as "awesome," per NFL.com.

Shazier missed the preseason opener with a knee issue. He came out on fire Saturday, making four tackles on Buffalo's opening drive and a solo tackle on the ensuing kickoff.

Antonio Brown
News
Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown struggled with an injury early, but wound up turning in a solid performance Thursday.

Brown picked up a rush attempt and two catches on the team's first drive, but had to leave the game after taking a big hit. He returned during the second quarter after passing concussion tests. He didn't play a huge role until the last drive of the game. Brown made three receptions during the drive, gaining 51 yards. Brown was also the target of the game-ending interception. He finished with seven receptions for 90 yards. He also had two carries for 10 yards.

Brown will take on the Panthers Week 3.

Jarvis Jones
News
Steelers linebacker Jarvis Jones filled the stat sheet Sunday against Cleveland. He not only tied for third on the team with six tackles, but he recorded one of three sacks and added another tackle for loss.

Jones had five solo tackles, which ranked only behind Troy Polamalu among Pittsburgh players. He will try to maintain his momentum Thursday against Baltimore.

Cam Thomas
News
The Steelers signed Cam Thomas to play defensive end in their 3-4 scheme, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Thomas primarily played nose tackle for the Chargers. He could still see snaps at the nose in Pittsburgh, the report said.

Wheaton gained 38 receiving yards on eight targets. He also received two carries for 22 yards. Wheaton's big drive came just before halftime. He picked up three catches for 29 yards on the drive. He wasn't much of a factor during the second half, catching just one pass for 11 yards. Though the performance wasn't great, Wheaton did receive the second-most targets on the club.

Wheaton will take on the Panthers Week 3.

Matt Spaeth

Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said recently-signed punter Brad Wing has matured.

“It's a no-lose situation for us,” Colbert told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “He got married recently and has a child, and players mature as the years go. If we weren't comfortable with (his) character, we don't sign him.”

Incumbent punter Mat McBriar is a free agent.

While they were all on the injury report, only Wallace was dealing with an injury. The rest missed practice for non-injury reasons.

Suisham received just two field goal oppotunities, hitting from both 25 yards and 43 yards during the contest. The Steelers were held out of the end zone, so Suisham did not have an opportunity to add any extra points.

Bell gained 59 rushing yards on 11 attempts. He also caught five passes for 48 yards during the contest. Injury
LeGarrette Blount
News
Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount was held to single digit rushing yards Thursday against the Ravens.

Blount received just three carries, gaining 8 yards. He wasn't much of a factor during the game, as the Steelers fell behind and had to rely on the passing game more than initially expected. He'll take on the Panthers Week 3.

Ben Roethlisberger
News
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was held without a touchdown Week 2 against the Ravens.

Roethlisberger completed 22 of 37 passes for 217 yards. He threw one interception during the game. Roethlisberger had a tough time getting any passes down the field. He averaged just 5.9 yards per attempt. Roethlisberger was a victim of poor luck as well. After leading a long drive to open the game, the Steelers turned the ball over on a fumble.
