Schofield played in 15 games last season for the Super Bowl champs, starting twice.

Garrett Scott
News
The Seahawks waived sixth-round pick Garrett Scott, an offensive tackle from Marshall, due to a heart ailment that prevented him from passing his physical. Scott won't have to return his signing bonus of about $100,000.

Seattle is the first team to release a 2014 draft pick.

K.J. Wright
News
Two Seahawks standouts were red-lighted from Friday practice, but are considered probable for the Super Bowl. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hip) and featured back Marshawn Lynch (knee) were both held out. Also out were cornerback Byron Maxwell (neck) and linebacker K.J. Wright (foot)

Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (ankle) was limited.

Ricardo Lockette
News
The Seahawks backup pass catchers did little Week 2 against the Chargers.

Tight end Zach Miller had just one catch for 22 yards. He made a bigger negative impact, as he was called on three different penalties during the contest.

Bryan Walters caught two balls, picking up 17 yards. Ricardo Lockette didn't catch a pass during the contest, but did have one rush for 2 yards.

They'll take on the Broncos Week 3.

Derrick Coleman
News
The Seahawks backup receivers made some big plays Thursday against the Packers.

Both Ricardo Lockette and Derrick Coleman came through on scoring plays. Lockette was targeted on a read-option play. After Russell Wilson kept the ball, he hit Lockette with a short pass after the cornerback bit on the play. Lockette broke a tackle on his way to scoring a 33 yard touchdown. He would finish with two catches for 38 yards.

Coleman only made one catch, but made it count. With the team trying to run out the clock, Coleman caught a short pass on fourth down and managed to rumble in for the 15 yard score.

Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse didn’t play a big role in the contest. Baldwin caught three balls, but only gained 11 yards. Kearse caught just one pass for 8 yards. Tight end Luke Willson chipped in too, hauling in one pass for one yard.

All five players will take on the Chargers Week 2.

Kearse led the team with four catches and 61 yards. His biggest play came on the first drive of the game. Kearse picked up a 30 yard reception despite defensive pass interference.

Baldwin snagged three balls for 35 yards. He was targeted a team-high six times during the game.

Both players will take on the Broncos Week 3.

News
The Seahawks made several roster moves to get down to Tuesday's 75-player limit. They waived defensive tackle Michael Brooks, receiver David Gilreath and linebacker Horace Miller with injury designations.

Seattle also put linebacker Heath Farwell, cornerback A.J. Jefferson and guard C.J. Davis on injured reserve. Cornerback Eric Pinkins was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

Injury
Michael Bennett
News
The Seahawks re-signed defensive end Michael Bennett to a four-year, $34 million contract, reports Pro Football Talk. Bennett will receive $16 million guaranteed.

Bennett had 10 sacks in the regular season and playoffs last year for the Super Bowl champs. Seattle edged out the Bears to retain him.

End Chris Clemons had three hurries, a sack and a hit, and lineman Michael Bennett added four hurries.

Turbin received just two carries, gaining 7 yards. He made a bigger impact in the passing game, catching two balls for 35 yards and a score. Turbin was a key weapon on the team's drive just before half time. He capped off the drive with a 3 yard touchdown reception from Russell Wilson.

Turbin will take on the Broncos Week 3.

Tarvaris Jackson
News
Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said the backup quarterback battle between Tarvaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor won't be decided for a while, reports the Seattle Times. "We will kind of just let it go for the next three weeks and see what happens," Bevell said.

Pryor went 9 of 16 for 137 yards with an interception and ran for 28 yards in the preseason opener. Jackson, last year's backup, hit 5 of 7 throws for 47 yards.

Heath Farwell

Injury
Groin - IR. Out for season
Richard Sherman
News
Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman said his $57 million contract extension won't change the way he approaches the game. He still has a chip on his shoulder from being drafted in the fifth round, after 23 other defensive backs, reports The News Tribune.

"I’m still the guy scrapping for a spot," Sherman said. "You never lose that mentality. You can take a ragged dog that’s been on the streets for 10 years and put him in a new house with steak, lobster every night and he’s still the raggedy dog you got off the street.

"I’m still the raggedy dog off the street. That mentality isn’t something I could change, I don’t think, even if I wanted to. Even if wanted to be, ‘Yeah, I’m a millionaire.’ I can’t do it. It’s not a switch that I have. I’ve been in this mentality. I don’t know anything else. This is how I’m going to be until I hang the cleats up. Then, I might try to eat caviar and drink wine, or whatever they do."

Marcus Burley
News
Seahawks cornerback Marcus Burley, who was recently acquired from the Colts, is expected to fill the void for the Jeremy Lane (groin) at nickel corner, the Seattle Times reports. Burley played 25 snaps Week 1 against Green Bay after Lane went down with the injury.

"He did well," head coach Pete Carroll said. "He did a good job. He had a really good challenge route down the field and did a nice job the one time (Randall) Cobb got up on him and knocked the ball away — it was a beautiful play. He's looked really solid in practice and we really liked the kid coming in and he did a fantastic job of being ready to play in that game down the stretch and so we are really pleased. He will play for Jeremy at this time — we have no other alternatives that we think of at this point. But we are real happy with what he did."
Steven Terrell
News
The Seattle Seahawks waived the following players Saturday: QB Terrelle Pryor, OT Eric Winston, CB Phillip Adams, DE Benson Mayowa, TE Rashaun Allen, CB Akeem Auguste, RB Demitrius Bronson, WR Arceto Clark, QB B.J. Williams started 15 games last season for the Vikings with 3.5 sacks and an interception.

Steven Hauschka
News
Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka did not receive a field goal attempt Week 2 against the Chargers.

Seattle only had the ball 17:45 minutes, and didn't really have the time to draw out drives. They were effective when they had the ball, scoring three touchdowns. Hauschka did hit all three of his extra point attempts.

He'll take on the Broncos Week 3.

Rashaun Allen
News
The Seattle Seahawks waived the following players Saturday: QB Terrelle Pryor, OT Eric Winston, CB Phillip Adams, DE Benson Mayowa, TE Rashaun Allen, CB Akeem Auguste, RB Demitrius Bronson, WR Arceto Clark, QB B.J. Jermaine Kearse
News
Seahawks receivers Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin led the way for the club Week 2.

Greg Scruggs
News
The Seahawks have listed CB Tharold Simon, RB Christine Michael, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, OL Andrew McDonald, WR Kevin Norwood, TE Cooper Helfet and DE Greg Scruggs as inactive Week 2 against the Chargers.

Helfet was doubtful entering the game. The team had already ruled out Michael, Pierre-Louis and Simon.

Marshawn Lynch
News
Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is probable entering Week 3.

Lynch is dealing with a back issue. After sitting out Wednesday, Lynch returned to full practice Thursday and Friday.

Injury
Back - Probable for Week 3 vs. Denver
Russell Okung
News
According to Sports Radio KJR in Washington, the following players will not suit up for the Seahawks Friday night against the Chargers in preseason action: wide receiver David Gilreath, safety Kam Chancellor, cornerback A.J. Jefferson, cornerback Akeem Auguste, cornerback Eric Pinkins, linebacker Bruce Irvin, linebacker D'Anthony Smith, linebacker Bobby Wagner, linebacker Korey Toomer, center Max Unger, guard C.J. Davis, defensive tackle Jimmy Staten, defensive tackle Michael Brooks, tackle Russell Okung and wide receiver Kevin Norwood.
Garry Gilliam

Percy Harvin
News
Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin found a way to make an impact Week 2 against the Chargers.

Harvin was not much of a factor in the passing game. He received just one target, catching the pass for 5 yards. He was a huge threat in the running game, however. On his first carry of the game, Harvin broke out for a 51 yard score. Though Harvin stepped out of bounds during the play, it was still ruled a touchdown. Harvin's second rushing attempt came with the team attempting a game-winning drive. He was stuffed for a 6 yard loss.

Harvin finished with two rushes for 45 yards. That led the club. He'll look to do more in the passing game Week 3 against the Broncos.

Malcolm Smith
News
Seahawks linebackers Malcolm Smith and Korey Toomer were back in pads in practice Monday but did not participate in team drills, the Seattle Times reports.

Smith has been out since before OTAs while recovering from ankle surgery. Toomer has been sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Andrew McDonald

Stephen Schilling
News
The Seahawks have signed guard Stephen Schilling, reports the Everett Herald. Schilling spent the first three seasons of his career with the Chargers.
Cooper Helfet
News
The Seahawks have listed nine players on the final injury report heading into Week 3.

Only Tharold Simon has been ruled out for the game. Bruce Irvin didn't practice throughout the week, but is questionable for the game.

Kam Chancellor, Cooper Helfet, Marshawn Lynch, Christine Michael, Zach Miller, Mike Morgan and Kevin Pierre-Louis are all probable.

Injury
Knee - Probable for Week 3 vs. Denver
Christine Michael
News
Seahawks running back Christine Michael was still limited in practice Thursday.

Michael returned to practice this week, and has been limited. It's unclear whether Michael will be the primary backup once he returns. Robert Turbin has filled in with Michael out.

Injury
Hamstring - Probable for Week 3 vs. Denver
Kevin Norwood

Russell Wilson
News
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson should continue to roll against the Broncos at home in Week 3.

Wilson will face a tougher defense this time around in the rematch of the Super Bowl against the Broncos, but he did well in the last meeting when it mattered most. Wilson had 206 passing yards and two touchdowns and three carries for 26 yards.

He's coming off two games in a row with 21 Fantasy points against Green Bay and San Diego, and Wilson typically fares better at home than on the road with at least 18 Fantasy points in 11 of the 17 games he's played in Seattle in his career. Wilson likely won't match Peyton Manning in the stat category this week, but he won't be far behind. He's a quality starting option in all formats.

For a complete list of Week 3 options, read my latest Start 'Em and Sit 'Em.

Zach Miller

Injury
Ankle - Probable for Week 3 vs. Denver
Jeron Johnson
News
Seahawks defensive back Jeron Johnson was forced out of Friday's preseason game against the Bears with a foot injury. He left the game in the second half and taken back to the locker room for further evaluation, ruling him out for the remainder of the game.
Jon Ryan
News
Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka and punter Jon Ryan have been to MetLife to practice.

Both players need to be aware of the field conditions, which is why they've already practiced at the stadium. There's some concern that the weather won't be ideal on Sunday, so it's important both players know what they are facing.

Justin Britt
News
With Breno Giacomini having left the Seahawks for the Jets, Seattle will have a training camp competition at right tackle. Michael Bowie and rookie Justin Britt are the top candidates for the job.

The Seattle Times gives Bowie the edge because he started nine games last year, including at guard in the playoff win over the Saints. Still, the paper suggests Seattle might use a rotation at right tackle, akin to what it did at left guard last year.

Luke Willson

Terrance Parks
News
The Seahawks signed offensive tackle Andrew McDonald off Carolina's practice squad. Seattle also added guard Nate Isles and safety Terrance Parks to its practice squad while releasing guard David Arkin and safety Josh Aubrey from the squad.
Eric Pinkins

Injury
Undisclosed - NFI. Doubtful for start of regular season
Tony McDaniel
News
Seahawks defensive tackle Tony McDaniel will replace Red Bryant as the "five technique" after playing the "three technique" last year, reports The News Tribune. The five technique lines up on the outside shoulder of a tackle, while the three technique lines up on the outside shoulder of a guard.

McDaniel often played outside during his four seasons with the Dolphins.

"A lot of people probably don’t know much about me and that I played there before," McDaniel told the paper. "I’ve got the body type — 6-7, 320. I definitely fit the body type to play end. It wasn’t a big deal to move out there."

McDaniel re-signed with Seattle for two years at $5.75 million, while Bryant left for the Jaguars. McDaniel had 53 tackles and two sacks in 15 starts last year.

James Carpenter
News
Seahawks general manager John Schneider said Wednesday the team still has not decided whether it will exercise the 2015 option on guard James Carpenter, reports The News Tribune. The fifth-year option would be worth over $7 million.

Seattle must decide by Saturday.

Paul Richardson
News
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said rookie wideout Paul Richardson has "done really good stuff" and been "very consistent on the practice field," reports the Seattle Times.

"He shows that he understands the offense and can make adjustments to the routes and can read things and all that," Carroll added. "It’s always hard for all those young guys to be exactly right all the time. They’re going to miss some things, which he’s done in really typical fashion. But he has shown toughness, he’s shown route running ability, he’s caught tough balls underneath, he’s got open deep. We really think he’s got a chance to help us, so we’re real excited about his progress."
