The charges on carrying a gun to an airport in New York have been reduced for Buccaneers defensive lineman Da'Quan Bowers. The Tampa Bay Tribune reports he was charged with disorderly conduct and will be fined.

The Bucs announced tight end Drake Dunsmore has retired from football.

The Buccaneers have signed receiver David Douglas off of the Giants' practice squad.

The Bills continued trimming their roster Friday in preparation for the regular season and released the following players: wide receivers Derek Hagan, Naaman Roosevelt, Ruvell Martin, Kamar Aiken and Marcus Easley; tight end Kevin Brock; running backs Johnny White and Zach Brown; linebackers Tank Carder and Scott McKillop; defensive linemen Robert Eddins, Jarron Gilbert and Kellen Heard; and defensive backs Nick Saenz and Isaiah Green.

Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David didn't contribute his usual high number of tackles Week 17 at Atlanta, finishing with six (including five solo), but he did record his second sack of the season.

The Bucs have signed free agent safety Dashon Goldson to a five-year deal according to multiple reports. He's expected to start right away opposite Mark Barron in the Tampa Bay secondary.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have selected Mississippi State cornerback Johnthan Banks in the second round of the NFL draft. Banks had 15 interceptions and 41 passes defensed in four collegiate seasons. He also had over 50 total tackles in each of his last three seasons. The 6-foot-2 corner can also return punts.

The Bucs placed tight end Danny Noble (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday.

The Bucs placed cornerback Myron Lewis on injured reserve Monday with a hamstring injury.

The Buccaneers have placed defensive end Aaron Morgan on the injured reserve list with shoulder injury and promoted defensive end Markus White to the active roster Saturday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed receiver Kevin Ogletree. He was a backup with the Dallas Cowboys the past four seasons, appearing in 46 games and making 57 catches for 730 yards and four touchdowns.

Buccaneers defensive back Leonard Johnson made a big play late in the first quarter Week 16 against the Rams, forcing a fumble on a hard hit to wide receiver Danny Amendola and recovering it himself. He subsequently committed his own fumble, returning possession to the Rams. Johnson also had five tackles, all solo, on the day.

Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster, who has taken a back seat to rookie Lavonte David for much of this year, led the team with 12 tackles, including 11 solo, Week 17 at Atlanta. He had averaged 5.0 tackles in his previous 10 games.

The Buccaneers selected Utah State running back Michael Smith in the seventh round of the NFL draft. The 5-foot-9, 207 pound rusher has a timed speed under 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

The Bears trimmed down their roster Sunday by cutting quarterback Matt Blanchard, defensive tackle John McCargo, linebacker Adrien Cole, wide receiver Terriun Crump, wide receiver Chris Summers, safety Trevor Coston, defensive end Derek Walker and linebacker K.C. Asiodu.

The Buccaneers claimed defensive back Danny Gorrer off waivers from the Seahawks on Wednesday.

Nate Kaeding has chosen to retire rather than play in 2013, according to the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Kaeding hurt his groin several days ago according to the report. That means Connor Barth will soon be the only active kicker on the Bucs roster.

Defensive back Ronde Barber is retiring, according to a report from FOX Sports. Barber was said to be deliberating coming back for his 17th season but apparently will walk away from the game.

Buccaneers fullback Erik Lorig scored his first career touchdown in Week 8 against the Vikings. Lorig was on the receiving end of a 1-yard scoring strike from Josh Freeman in the first quarter. It was his only reception in the 36-17 win.

The Bucs have taken Adam Hayward and Amobi Okoye off their PUP list.

Raiders wide receiver Derek Hagan caught two passes for 24 yards in Sunday's 55-20 loss to the Ravens.

Tampa Bay RB Earnest Graham (Achilles') will miss the remainder of the season after the team placed him on injured reserve Tuesday, according to NFL.com. Graham had an MRI on his right leg Tuesday morning as reports swirled about a possible season-ending tear to his Achilles' tendon. Graham suffered the setback during Week 7 against Chicago as he was starting in place of injured RB LeGarrette Blount.

Bucs coach Greg Schiano announced Monday defensive end Adrian Clayborn will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered Week 3 against the Cowboys. He will need surgery. Schiano said the team's response to losing Clayborn might be to play more snaps with three down linemen.

Knee - Questionable for start of training camp

The Buccaneers official website focused on the arrival of new tight end Tom Crabtree and believes he's going to have the chance to have a big role in the offense. He'll compete with Luke Stocker in training camp for playing time. "He just didn't get the opportunity but you saw it when you studied him on tape. You had to dig a little bit but when he got the opportunity, he made plays," coach Greg Schiano said of Crabtree. "To me, there’s physical traits and there’s production. ... Sometimes, you don’t get a full page of production because there are other people there, but the physical traits lend you to believe that that production could be consistent if given the opportunity."

Bucs coach Greg Schiano said in an interview with CBSSports.com on Wednesday at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix that he doesn't want to overwork second-year running back Doug Martin, but he also wants to use him more on third downs. "You like to maybe take a little load off him," Schiano said. "But you like to get him more involved in some things that he does well. He wasn’t in the game on third down. Maybe he gets some of those plays because he’s such a good pass receiver and a good blocker. We have some thoughts on how to best utilize him. We just have to figure out how it fits with the rest of the team."

Bucs wide receiver Tiquan Underwood caught one pass for 17 yards in the team's 23-21 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. Underwood was targeted four times.

Buccaneers defensive back Ahmad Black recorded his second interception of the season in Week 9 against the Raiders. He picked off Carson Palmer in the fourth quarter and also finished with six solo tackles in the 42-32 win.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Thursday that the Buccaneers have signed wide receiver Chris Owusu off the Chargers' practice squad. He will join the team's 53-man roster.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Buccaneers receiver Mike Williams is close to signing a long-term contract extension. Bucs general manager Mark Dominik would like to get a deal completed prior to training camp. Williams is scheduled to earn $1.4-million in base salary this season, part of his rookie deal of four-years, $2.3825-million. Williams, selected in the fourth round in 2010, has averaged 64 catches in his first three seasons and had a career-best 996 yards and nine touchdowns in 2012. He is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2013 season. “I see the changes in Mike over the last year," Bucs coach Greg Schiano said. “Mike is becoming such a more seasoned pro. Mike always had the passion for the game, way back from when I knew him when he was at Syracuse. I mean, this kid loves to play football. But all the little things about being a pro, I think Vincent (Jackson) has brought that into the room and certainly for Mike and for all those guys."

Bucs coach Greg Schiano confirmed Monday that Josh Freeman was the team's starting quarterback, not rookie Mike Glennon. This despite of comments made by Schiano about Glennon to the National Football Post, where he called the rookie a competitor and wouldn't quite rule him out. Glennon was once recruited by Schiano to play at Rutgers but instead chose N.C. State.

The Bucs placed safety Cody Grimm on injured reserve Tuesday because of a hamstring injury.

Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan gave quarterback Josh Freeman a vote of confidence, according to the Pewter Report. This after some speculation his job could be in jeopardy coming into the season. “Josh Freeman is our quarterback, and he's a heck of a player,” Sullivan said. “While there were some disappointments at times last year, whether it was a decision on a ball that was intercepted or just some inconsistencies – you can’t take away the numbers that he put up – the franchise records offensively. I think he is so much more comfortable with what we are doing right now having had that experience.” Sullivan thinks Freeman will make the necessary strides in his second year in this offensive system. “[There] has been a lot of improvement from Josh, and really all the offensive players the second year in the system,” Sullivan said. “This time last year – it is like a foreign language – just learning the formations and the calls. Now we have a complete offseason, a training camp, a preseason and 16 regular and things are much smoother and we are really excited abut where we are at."

The Bucs announced Tuesday cornerback Anthony Gaitor (hamstring) was placed on the injured reserve-designated to return list. He can return after six weeks on IR.

The Buccaneers signed defensive back Brandon McDonald on Tuesday. McDonald was released by Tampa Bay earlier in the year.

Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson, who entered the game averaging 94.2 receiving yards in his previous six, had a relatively quiet afternoon Week 17 at Atlanta, catching three passes for 50 yards. His seven targets still ranked second on the team, but he went without a touchdown for a third straight game.

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik told NFL Network he expects cornerback Darrelle Revis to be ready for Week 1 against the Jets. Revis tore his ACL last September while playing for the Jets. "Fully confident," Dominik said. "He's in great shape right now. He's running full speed. He's cutting, he's doing all the things we wanted him to do from a training standpoint and a rehabilitation standpoint. We're going to keep him at our pace but the whole point is he'll walk out there the first day of training camp, he'll have pads on and he'll be ready for the Jets in Week 1. We're expecting that."

Knee - Probable for start of training camp

The Bucs signed defensive end George Selvie on Tuesday.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Bucs and defensive tackle Derek Landri have agreed to a two-year deal.

Rams DT Gary Gibson picked up a sack on Monday Night Football Week 14. Gibson took down Seattle's Tarvaris Jackson, despite the Seahawks taking down the Rams 30-13 in the game. Gibson finished with four tackles and two of them were solo.

Buccaneers tight end Luke Stocker, who entered the game with only 115 receiving yards all season, put up a season-high 50 Week 17 at Atlanta. The majority came on a 26-yard catch early in the second quarter. He had a total of three catches on three targets.

Tampa Bay signed ex-Saints linebacker Jonathan Casillas on Wednesday.

The Jaguars continued shaping their roster for the upcoming season and waived/injured tight end Zach Miller while claiming tight end Brett Brackett off waivers. A pass-catching tight end with a history of injuries, Miller will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers. Miller sustained a calf injury late in the preseason and has been sidelined since.

Notable Browns players cut on Friday include: DT Ronnie Cameron, WR Josh Cooper, CB James Dockery, DE William Green, TE Dan Gronkowski, LB Benjamin Jacobs, TE Evan Moore, DL Ernest Owusu, DL Brian Schaefering, FB Brad Smelley, LB Quinton Spears, RB Adonis Thomas, DL Kiante Tripp, QB Seneca Wallace and WR Rod Windsor.

The following Broncos were cut on Friday: DB Rafael Bush, CB Drayton Florence, LB Jerry Franklin, DT Ben Garland, WR Jason Hill, DB Duke Ihenacho, TE Cornelius Ingram, RB Jeremiah Johnson, LB Mike Mohamed, WR Greg Orton, WR Gerell Robinson, CB Syd'Quan Thompson and QB Adam Weber.

Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik told the Petwer Report on Tuesday that tight end Dallas Clark isn't likely to retire this offseason. "I don’t think Dallas Clark is contemplating retirement," Dominik said. "I didn’t get that sense from him. At the same time, we do have to sit back and look at the whole situation, and he has to make his decision and the thing that was good about Dallas was he came in here and it was the most catches he’s had since 2009.” Clark is a free agent this offseason, and Dominik said the Bucs would consider re-signing him. “I need to talk to his agent and go through that first and figure out where they’re at first because that’s kind of where it all starts," Dominik said. "You want to have two people come together and make a deal happen as opposed to one side is happy and the other isn’t so sure what it wants to do yet. But I was happy with the way Dallas Clark played this year. He played 16 solid games, he stayed healthy, which is what a lot of people’s concerns were. We brought him in and felt good about where his physical was and where his health was and he played good this year. He was productive.”

Bucs safety Mark Barron totaled a team-high 10 tackles (eight solo) and one pass defense Week 15 at New Orleans. He has 79 tackles and one pass defense in 14 games.

The Buccaneers placed wide receiver Sammie Stroughter on season-ending injured reserve with a broken foot, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Stroughter recorded just one reception for 14 yards in two games this season. The Bucs signed rookie receiver Chris Owusu from the Chargers' practice squad to take his place on the active roster.

The Buccaneers added more quality talent to their defense in the NFL draft, selecting Alabama strong safety Mark Barron with their first pick. They backed him up with Nebraska linebacker Lavonte David, West Virginia linebacker Najee Goode and West Virginia cornerback Keith Tandy. And in the days following the draft it was learned that the Bucs are likely to move Ronde Barber to safety.

The Buccaneers released defensive ends Tim Crowder and Nick Reed. Crowder has spent the past three seasons with the Buccaneers, playing in 41 games with 13 starts. In 2011, he played in 10 games and had 14 tackles. Reed joined the team for the final three games in 2011 and had two tackles.

The Bucs have signed kicker Derek Dimke and released tight end Evan Landi.

After duking it out over his old contract, the Bucs and cornerback Eric Wright have agreed to a new one-year deal reportedly worth $1.5 million.

After cutting him last week, the Bucs have re-signed Dan Orlovsky. He'll likely battle to back up Josh Freeman in camp this summer.

The St. Petersburg Times reports the Bucs placed DB Aqib Talib on injured reserve Monday with a hamstring injury. The team signed DL Jovan Haye to take his roster spot.

Tampa Bay LB Dekoda Watson recorded four solo tackles in Saturday's game versus Dallas. His biggest contribution though was picking up a Tony Romo fumble and returning it for a touchdown, ending his team's scoring drought. Despite his efforts the Buccaneers ended up losing the game, 31-15.

The Bucs released veteran running back D.J. Ware.

Buccaneers defensive linemen Gerald McCoy was once again not much of a factor in Week 8 against the Vikings. McCoy finished with just one solo tackle in the 36-17 win. He has now racked up just five tackles over his last three games and does not have a sack over that stretch.

The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they have signed receiver Carlton Mitchell. He originally entered the league in 2010 as a sixth-round draft pick (177th overall) of the Browns, playing in 16 games over two seasons.

The Buccaneers have traded running back LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in exchange for a seventh-round pick in this year's NFL Draft and Olympic sprinter Jeff Demps. Demps was a silver medalist as part of the 4x100 relay team that finished second to Jamaica at the 2012 London Games. The former Florida running back was not selected in last year's draft because he told teams he wanted to focus on his track career. The Patriots signed Demps last August. Blount was a 1,000-yard as a rookie with the Bucs after going undrafted in 2010. He led Tampa Bay in rushing again with 781 yards the following year, but lost his starting job after Doug Martin joined the team as a first-round draft pick in 2012.

According to his representatives, Brian Leonard has signed with the Buccaneers. He's expected to work as a fullback and occasional ball carrier and receiver.

Bucs tight end Nate Byham caught one pass for three yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Panthers. It was the first touchdown of his career.
