Mike Evans
News
It's hard to complain when he's scoring touchdowns, as he's done four times in his last four games, but Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has averaged just 38.5 receiving yards during that stretch, contributing only 13 yards Week 15 at Carolina. Josh McCown, who recently reclaimed the starting quarterback role, seems to have a preference for Vincent Jackson, who has averaged 92.5 receiving yards in those same four games.

Again, you're not sitting Evans because of it, but man, you'd like to have some recourse other than crossing your fingers. At least you can take some solace in knowing that Evans' best two games in terms of yardage, Weeks 10 and 11, also came with McCown under center. Keep in mind also the Buccaneers face the Packers in in Week 16, who allowed 259 yards to the Falcons' Julio Jones two weeks ago.

Dietrich-Smith will start Sunday at Detroit.

Jacquies Smith
News
Lovie Smith has praised Buccaneers defensive end Jacquies Smith for his emergence as a productive player in recent weeks.

The undrafted free agent, who was cut by Buffalo after Week 1 and has served a stint in the Canadian Football League, has gone from practice squad member to key player in the rotation. He has three sacks in the last three games, including two Sunday against Washington. Smith claims the result should be increased playing time.

"We tell the players always, 'If you get in a few plays and you're productive with those, you'll get more,'" Smith told ESPN. "Kind of simple as that. He has continued to get more plays based on his play. He's come a long way from being cut by the Bills and coming down here and now really being a factor. So it's safe to say that, yes."

Larry English
News
The Buccaneers have made QB Josh McCown, CB Johnthan Banks, S Dashon Goldson, LB Jonathan Casillas, DE Larry English, OL Kevin Pamphile and OL Kadeem Edwards inactive Week 6 against the Ravens.

Goldson and Casillas were the only players ruled out prior to Sunday. McCown entered the game considered doubtful. Banks was listed as questionable.

Doug Martin
News
What's that? Buccaneers running back Doug Martin ran for 96 yards on 14 carries Week 15 at Carolina. Sweet Moses, he's back!

Whoa now, slow your roll. More than two-thirds of those yards came on a 63-yard run on his second carry of the game. On the other 13, he averaged just 2.5 yards.

Now obviously, some running backs rely on long runs to bring up their yards per carry, so isolating those runs under the assumption they're some sort of fluke isn't the fairest way to assess a rusher's performance. But long runs aren't the norm for Martin. That 63-yarder was his first of 20-plus all season.

This performance was similar to the 58-yard game he had Week 13 against Cincinnati. He seemed like he was poised for a big numbers when he gained 46 yards on his first 10 carries, but it was largely skewed by a 10-yard run he had early on. He had just 18 yards on eight carries the rest of the way.

By now, Fantasy owners should have a pretty good idea who Martin is, and it's not someone they should be looking to start in a 12-team league.

Kevin Pamphile
News
The Buccaneers have listed WR Robert Herron, RB Mike James, CB Crezdon Butler, CB C.J. Wilson, LB Lavonte David, T Kevin Pamphile and DE Da'Quan Bowers as inactive against the Bears Week 12.

David was the only player listed on the injury report. He came into the game questionable due to a hamstring injury. David was able to get through limited practice Wednesday, but did not participate in practice Thursday and Friday.

Evan Rodriguez
News
Quarterback Jordan Palmer and veteran punter Brian Moorman are the two most significant cuts announced by the Bills on Friday.
