Kris Durham
News
Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, running back Antonio Andrews, wide receiver Kris Durham, tight end Taylor Thompson, tackle Will Svitek, defensive lineman DaQuan Jones and cornerback Coty Sensabaugh were ruled inactive Week 8 vs. Houston.
Jurrell Casey
News
The Titans listed nine players on the final injury report leading up to Week 6 against Jacksonville. offensive tackle Michael Roos (knee) and tight end Craig Stevens (quad) were officially ruled out, while running back Shonn Greene (hamstring) has been ruled doubtful for Sunday.

Deemed questionable were cornerback Coty Sensabaugh (knee), tight end Taylor Thompson (knee), cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (concussion) and quarterback Jake Locker (right thumb).

Tight end Delanie Walker (shoulder) and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey (foot) were the only players listed probable against the Jaguars.

Charlie Whitehurst
News
What was suspected is now official: Zach Mettenberger is set to start at quarterback for the Titans against Houston on Sunday. Jake Locker will serve as his backup.

That news was announced Thursday by Ken Whisenhunt. Locker had been dealing with a thumb injury and Whisenhunt had previously claimed he would regain the starting position when healthy. But his apparent availability to play against the Texans could mean that Mettenberger has overtaken him.

Also in the mix had been veteran Charlie Whitehurst, who started in Locker's absence and completed 60.2 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

Mettenberger played briefly in Week 4 at Indianapolis and connected on two of five attempts for 17 yards while throwing an interception.

Nate Askew
News
The Buccaneers made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Tampa Bay cut the following players: DB Marc Anthony, LB Nate Askew, OL Edawn Coughman, CB Kip Edwards, DE T.J. Fatinikun, CB Anthony Gaitor, LB Ka'Lial Glaud, CB Keith Lewis, OL Jamon Meredith, OL Andrew Miller, FB Lonnie Pryor, OL Jeremiah Warren, K Connor Barth, DE Larry English, RB Jeff Demps, QB Mike Kafka and SS Major Wright.
Jake Locker
News
Ken Whisenhunt has admitted that deposed Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker is unhappy about losing his job to rookie Zach Mettenberger.

Whisenhunt, however, told The Tennesseean that Locker is handling the news well. "I love Jake Locker," Whisenhunt added.

Locker has missed three games this season due to injury and has been unimpressive when on the field. He has completed just 58 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and four interceptions.

Khalid Wooten
News
The Titans' list of inactives for Week 16 at Jacksonville includes offensive lineman David Stewart (shoulder), quarterback Tyler Wilson, wide receiver Kenny Britt, defensive back Khalid Wooten, linebacker Zaviar Gooden, offensive lineman Kevin Matthews and defensive lineman Lavar Edwards. Wilson, Britt, Wooten, Gooden, Matthews and Edwards are all healthy scratches.
Kamerion Wimbley
News
The Titans and defensive end Kamerion Wimbley agreed to a restructured contract that will pay him $9 million over three years, reports ESPN's Adam Caplan. Wimbley had been scheduled to make $6 million this season, but the team asked him to take a pay cut and he agreed rather than possibly get released.
Quentin Groves
News
Titans quarterback Jake Locker was a full participant in practice Friday and will be probable for Week 8 against the Texans. Locker will likely serve as a backup to Zach Mettenberger on Sunday.

Coty Sensabaugh (knee) and Taylor Thompson (knee) were labeled doubtful, while Quentin Groves (ankle) was deemed questionable. Meanwhile, Shonn Greene (hamstring) and Ropati Pitoitua (hand) were ruled probable, along with Locker.

Chance Warmack
News
The Titans listed offensive tackle David Stewart (shoulder) and guard Chance Warmack (ankle) as probable for Thursday's game against the Colts. Both practiced fully Tuesday and Wednesday.

Linebacker Zaviar Gooden is officially questionable with a hamstring injury despite not practicing all week.

James Anderson
News
Only five players are listed on the injury report released by the Titans on Friday for their Week 4 battle in Indianapolis.

Included are quarterback Jake Locker (wrist) and tight end Delanie Walker (shoulder), both of whom are questionable. Also on the list are defensive end Ropati Pitoitua (knee) and tight end Taylor Thompson (knee), both of whom are doubtful. Linebacker James Anderson (thigh) is probable.

Avery Williamson
News
Fifth-round pick Avery Williamson has cut into the snaps of veteran inside linebacker Zaviar Gooden for the Titans, The Tennessean has reported.

The rookie did not play on defense until Week 3, but he made four tackles in 13 snaps against Cincinnati. He was on the field for 26 snaps last week against Indianapolis and made nine tackles. He has been playing with the first team this week in practice.

"(Williams is) doing a nice job," Ken Whisenhunt said. "He has to learn his assignments ... and he has to be able to execute them consistently. It's a process that all your young players go through. Everyone wants to throw young players out there, but sometimes they're not ready yet."

Wesley Woodyard
News
Titans cornerback Jason McCourty (groin) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Bengals.

McCourty was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report, but he'll suit up. Running back Dexter McCluster (foot), quarterback Charlie Whitehurst (finger) and linebacker Wesley Woodyard (ankle) are also active after being listed as probable.

Chase Coffman
News
Wide receiver Nate Washington led a group of minor contributors for the Titans against Cleveland on Sunday with four catches for 57 yards. He was targeted seven times.

Also pitching in were tight end Chase Coffman with two receptions for 18 yards and running back Leon Washington with a snag for seven yards. Running back Bishop Sankey added 27 yards on eight carries while wideout Dexter McCluster had 10 yards on three carries and caught a pass.

Tennessee cut the following players: T Jeff Adams, CB Ri'Shard Anderson, RB Antonio Andrews, DL Chigbo Anunoby, K Maikon Bonani, CB Tommie Campbell, TE Chase Coffman, LB Brandon Copeland, QB Dominique Davis, DE Marcus Dixon, LB Moise Fokou, WR Marc Mariani, G Justin McCray, FB Collin Mooney, OL Eric Olsen, T William Poehls, WR Rico Richardson, WR Brian Robiskie, TE Jason Schepler and CB Winston Wright.

Injury
Knee - Missed Week 8 vs. Houston
Lache Seastrunk
News
The Titans signed rookie running back Lache Seastrunk to their practice squad. The sixth-round pick out of Baylor was cut by the Redskins, then the Panthers.
Zach Mettenberger
News
The Titans asked a lot of rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger in his first NFL start, and he acquitted himself fairly well in a 30-16 loss to the Texans in Week 8.

The Titans tried to hide Mettenberger in the first half, when he attempted just 13 passes and was intercepted once. Playing from behind in the second half, however, Mettenberger looked solid, completing 20 of 28 passes for 237 passes and two touchdowns, while getting little help from the running game.

The Titans were down big early, with Mettenberger's first score coming with a 24-point deficit at his back. Still, he managed to avoid being a disaster, which is as much as you can ask from a third-string quarterback with a sixth-round draft history.

Fantasy owners will obviously need to see more from Mettenberger before even considering adding him, but this was a decent enough start to his pro career.

Leon Washington

Brandon Ghee
News
The following players on the injury report were officially ruled active for the Titans Week 6 against Jacksonville: QB Jake Locker, RB Shonn Greene, CB Coty Sensabaugh, CB Brandon Ghee, LB Akeem Ayers, TE Taylor Thompson and TE Craig Stevens.
William Poehls
News
The Titans dumped 20 players Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Tennessee cut the following players: T Jeff Adams, CB Ri'Shard Anderson, RB Antonio Andrews, DL Chigbo Anunoby, K Maikon Bonani, CB Tommie Campbell, TE Chase Coffman, LB Brandon Copeland, QB Dominique Davis, DE Marcus Dixon, LB Moise Fokou, WR Marc Mariani, G Justin McCray, FB Collin Mooney, OL Eric Olsen, T William Poehls, WR Rico Richardson, WR Brian Robiskie, TE Jason Schepler and CB Winston Wright.
Taylor Thompson
News
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said safety Coty Sensabaugh (knee) and tight end Taylor Thompson (knee) should return to practice during the team's bye week. Both players missed Sunday's game against the Texans.
Injury
Knee - Missed Week 8 vs. Houston
Bishop Sankey
News
The return of Shonn Greene from injury certainly didn't cut into Bishop Sankey's workload much in Week 8, as Greene had just one touch Sunday.

Sankey finished the game with just 13 touches himself, but that was probably more the result of the way the game went. He had a decent game as the Titans fell 30-16, totaling 60 yards of offense on nine carries and four receptions.

The bar has certainly been lowered for Sankey since the preseason, as he has struggled to breakout when given the chance. He has either 5 or 6 Fantasy points in each of the last three games, and has not found the end zone since Week 4. Still, he appears to have his role in the offense locked up, so the chance for a breakout is still here.

For now, Fantasy owners should approach Sankey with caution, at least until he proves he is worth your trust.

Derek Hagan
News
Titans wide receiver Derek Hagan recorded his first touchdown catch since the 2011 season during a 19-17 loss Week 7 at Washington. Hagan finished with two catches for 45 yards.

Hagan hauled in his seventh career touchdown pass on a 38-yard reception with 7:41 left in the fourth quarter, which put Tennessee ahead 17-16. Hagan had just two catches for 34 yards coming into Sunday's game.

The Titans are back in action Week 8 vs. Houston.

Chigbo Anunoby
News
The Titans dumped 20 players Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Tennessee cut the following players: T Jeff Adams, CB Ri'Shard Anderson, RB Antonio Andrews, DL Chigbo Anunoby, K Maikon Bonani, CB Tommie Campbell, TE Chase Coffman, LB Brandon Copeland, QB Dominique Davis, DE Marcus Dixon, LB Moise Fokou, WR Marc Mariani, G Justin McCray, FB Collin Mooney, OL Eric Olsen, T William Poehls, WR Rico Richardson, WR Brian Robiskie, TE Jason Schepler and CB Winston Wright.
Taylor Lewan
News
New Titans starting quarterback Zach Mettenberger boasts confidence bordering on cockiness. And it has crossed that border since Thursday, when he addressed the media after the announcement.

"I absolutely believe this is my team now," he said via The Tennessean. "This is what you dream of. I have been preparing and anticipating this happening since the day I got drafted. That was my mindset since Day 1, to be the starter."

Titans left tackle, fellow rookie and close friend Taylor Lewan likes that mindset.

"I think he has one of those, 'I don't care' attitudes," Lewan said. 'I'm going to throw darts the whole time.' And that's awesome. That's how a quarterback should be. He'll sit in the pocket, take a hit, and he'll get right back up and get in the guy's face, and I love it."

Mettenberger opened some eyes with a strong preseason in which he passed for 659 yards and two touchdowns while compiling a 97.6 passer rating.

Al Woods
News
The Titans signed defensive lineman Al Woods to a two-year deal Wednesday, ending his two-year run with the Steelers. Woods' contract will pay him $5 million over two years, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Woods is coming off the most productive season of his career, as he played in all 16 games for the first time in four seasons. He picked up 16 tackles and two sacks, the latter of which represents a career-high for the 26-year-old.

Josh Stewart
Injury
Brian Schwenke
News
Guard Andy Levitre (hip), linebacker Akeem Ayers (knee) and center Brian Schwenke (ankle) will not participate in next week's OTAs as they recover from surgical procedures, reports ESPN.com.
Nate Washington
News
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday wide receiver Nate Washington will be held out of practice this week after suffering a shoulder injury Sunday against the Texans. However, he should be OK to return after the bye in time for Tennessee's next game Week 10 against the Ravens.
Injury
Shoulder - Left Week 8 vs. Houston
Kendall Wright
News
Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright finished with 53 yards on three catches in rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger's first career start during a 30-16 loss Week 8 vs. Houston. Wright was targeted five times, as Mettenberger finished with 299 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Wright got most of his yards on a 48-yard reception in the second half. He still doesn't have a 100-yard game in eight outings this season. The Titans are on a bye Week 9 before returning to action Week 10 at Baltimore.

Dontay Moch
News
The Bengals made a slew of moves Saturday to pare their roster down to the required 53 for the regular season.

Among those moves was the placement of guard Trey Hopkins on the reserve/injured list with a leg issue. Rookie quarterback AJ McCarron was put on the reserve/non-football injury list with a shoulder problem.

The Bengals also cut the following offensive players: tackles Dan France and Will Svitek, wide receivers Colin Lockett and Cobi Hamilton, center Trevor Robinson and running backs James Wilder and Nikita Whitlock.

Defenders waived by the Bengals include safety Danieal Manning, cornerbacks Onterio McCalebb and Victor Hampton, tackles Devon Still and David King and ends Sam Montgomery and Dontay Moch.

Cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris will begin serving a two-game drug suspension handed dowsn by the league.

Michael Roos
News
As anticipated, the Titans have placed starting offensive tackle Michael Roos on season-ending injured reserve. He is scheduled for knee surgery. Roos had only missed one game since joining the team in 2005.
Injury
Blidi Wreh-Wilson

Craig Stevens
News
The Titans placed tight end Craig Stevens (quad) on injured reserve Saturday. Stevens had surgery to repair a torn quadriceps tendon this week.
Injury
Quadriceps - IR. Out for season
Shaun Phillips
News
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday linebacker Shaun Phillips suffered a hip injury and linebacker Quentin Groves suffered an ankle injury Sunday against the Redskins. Phillips is headed for an MRI and Whisenhunt added he didn't know the status of either player for Week 8 vs. Houston.
Mike Martin
News
The Titans have announced the following players as inactive for Week 3's matchup with the Bengals: quarterback Zach Mettenberger, wide receivers T.J. Graham and Kris Durham, linebacker Akeem Ayers, offensive tackle Byron Stingily and defensive linemen DaQuan Jones and Mike Martin.
Bernard Pollard
News
Titans safety Bernard Pollard was given a 6-8 month timetable for his recovery after undergoing surgery in early October for a ruptured Achilles. Though, Pollard expects a shorter timetable, per The Tennessean.

"Like I've told them, it's not going to take me six-to-eight. It's really not," Pollard said Tuesday. "More like two-to-three (months) … I want to be back. I want to be smart about coming back as well. I throw numbers out there or whatever, but it's going to be quick."

Injury
Achilles - IR. Out for season
Justin Hunter
News
Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter was Zach Mettenberger's favorite target during the rookie quarterback's first career start Week 8 against the Texans. Though, Hunter wasn't having a very strong afternoon before a late touchdown salvaged his day during a 30-16 loss.

Hunter was targeted a team-high 10 times, but he finished with just four catches for 31 yards. His longest catch was a 12-yard touchdown with 56 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Hunter has two touchdowns in his last four games. The Titans are on a bye Week 9 before returning to action Week 10 at Baltimore.

Sammie Lee Hill
News
Titans defensive tackle Sammie Lee Hill has been given the green light for Sunday at Indianapolis with a back injury that had him designated as questionable.
Ropati Pitoitua

Shonn Greene
News
Titans running back Shonn Greene was active Sunday against the Texans just a few days after getting arrested. However, he didn't get many reps on offense, totaling one carry for 1 yard in a 30-16 loss.

After the game, Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said he hasn't ruled out disciplinary action with Greene, per The Tennessean. However, Whisenhunt wants to look further into the matter since Greene has a different version of the events that led to his arrest Friday. Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk.

The Titans are on a bye Week 9 before returning to action Week 10 at Baltimore.

Will Svitek
News
Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, running back Antonio Andrews, wide receiver Kris Durham, tight end Taylor Thompson, tackle Will Svitek, defensive lineman DaQuan Jones and cornerback Coty Sensabaugh were ruled inactive Week 8 vs. Houston.
Jason McCourty

Colin McCarthy
News
Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. McCarthy underwent shoulder surgery earlier in August, so the assignment isn't a surprise.
Injury
Michael Oher
News
The Titans might not start rookie offensive tackle Taylor Lewan until 2015, reports the Tennessean. But that all depends on the status of current left tackle Michael Roos, reports TitansInsider.com.

The Tennessean reports that Lewan will likely be the top reserve behind Roos and right tackle Michael Oher. It adds that "more than likely, Lewan is going to be a backup in 2014."

But TitansInsider.com reports that with Lewan in the fold, there is talk the Titans might move Roos. He is set to make $6.625 million this year and was paid a $1 million roster bonus last month.

The report adds that moving on from Roos would not cost the Titans anything cap wise since he is in the last year of his deal. But talk of the move is just speculation for now.

Brandon Harris
News
Titans wide receiver Kris Durham, cornerback Brandon Harris, linebacker Akeem Ayers, tackle Byron Stingily, tight end Taylor Thompson and defensive end Ropati Pitoitua were all ruled inactive Week 4 at Indianapolis.
Richard Gordon
News
The Titans announced Wednesday they signed tight end Richard Gordon. The 2011 sixth-round pick has played for the Raiders, Chiefs and Steelers, totaling four catches for 14 yards and one touchdown in 29 career games.
Andy Levitre
News
Guard Andy Levitre (hip), linebacker Akeem Ayers (knee) and center Brian Schwenke (ankle) will not participate in next week's OTAs as they recover from surgical procedures, reports ESPN.com.
Delanie Walker
News
Titans tight end Delanie Walker played a big role in the team's plans in Week 8 against the Texans, though he and quarterback Zach Mettenberger showed they still have some work to do to get on the same page.

Walker was targeted nine times in the 30-16 loss, his highest total since Week 2. He hauled in four of those passes for 37 yards, but made up for a somewhat lackluster showing by hauling in a 6-yard touchdown in the third quarter, the first of Mettenberger's career.

That a young quarterback would lean heavily on a big tight end like Walker isn't a big surprise, though it is a good sign after Walker's recent slump. Walker remains a solid Fantasy option, though we need to see more before figuring out if Mettenberger is a good thing for him.

Karl Klug
News
Several Titans listed on the injury report are active for their game vs. Arizona, including linebacker Akeem Ayers and cornerback Alterraun Verner, who were questionable with groin injuries.

Defensive end Karl Klug (back), guard Andy Levitre (hip), center Brian Schwenke (ankle), offensive tackle David Stewart (shoulder) and running back Leon Washington (ankle) all will play after being listed as probable.

Justin Staples
News
The Browns signed tight end Gerrell Robinson off Denver's practice squad and added receiver Ifeanyi Momah to their practice squad. Cleveland cut linebacker Justin Staples from the squad.
Ryan Succop
News
Titans kicker Ryan Succop made one field goal and finished with four points during a 30-16 loss Week 8 vs. Houston. Succop made his only field-goal attempt -- a 35-yarder in the first quarter.

Succop has finished with five or fewer points six times in eight games this season. The Titans are on a bye Week 9 before returning to action Week 10 at Baltimore.

Daimion Stafford
News
Four of the Titans' last five picks in the NFL draft were on the defensive side of the ball. The team took Mizzou linebacker Zaviar Gooden, LSU defensive end Lavar Edwards, Nevada cornerback Kahlid Wooten and Nebraska safety Daimion Stafford.
Dexter McCluster

Titans running back Shonn Greene was unable to practice Friday and was officially deemed doubtful for Sunday's clash against the Jaguars, the Tennessean reports.

Green has not been able to get back on the practice field since he was a limited participant Wednesday. It doesn't appear his hamstring injury will heal fast enough for Week 6, so the Titans will likely turn to rookie Bishop Sankey for the start. Dexter McCluster could also see a healthy dose of work in Greene's absence.

Derrick Morgan
News
The Titans' Derrick Morgan is moving from defensive end to outside linebacker in Tennessee's new 3-4 scheme. He told TitanInsider.com that he played some linebacker at Georgia Tech, so the transition won't be that difficult.

"My first position playing football was at linebacker, but it's been awhile. It's not too different. It's not too foreign for me to stand up and play out of a two-point stance. I've just got to continue to work at it," Morgan said. "I moved around a lot, especially my junior year, all over the field, linebacker, blitzing and stuff like that. I've definitely done it before."

Morgan has 16.5 sacks in four years and will be counted on to provide a big pass rush this season.

"I feel like I can rush the passer. That's what I was brought in to do. I feel like I can cover if need be," he said. "I'm still playing in the NFL. This is a great job. This is a change-up, but something I'm definitely going to embrace and work hard at."

Michael Griffin
News
Titans free safety Michael Griffin has issued a challenge to his defense: It's put-up and shut-up time.

Griffin will Sunday against Jacksonville no longer be playing aside fellow safety and vocal leader Bernard Pollard, who is out for the season with an Achilles injury. He is trying to take that leadership role and run with it with a different approach.

"Right now, we have to stop all the talking, and start doing," Griffin told The Tennesseean. "We need less talking and more playing, and that is nothing against Bernard. He was our vocal leader, a guy who gets us riled up. But with a four-game losing streak, we need to focus and start playing. We put ourselves in a hole and we have to get out."

The Titans rank 15th in the AFC in points allowed at 27.8 per game.

Zaviar Gooden

Byron Stingily
News
Tight end Taylor Thompson (knee) and cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (concussion) are the lone injured players on the inactive list released Sunday by the Titans for their game against Cleveland.

The healthy scratches are quarterback Zach Mettenberger, wide receiver Kris Durham, linebacker James Anderson, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones and tackle Byron Stingily.

The Titans got significant contributions from their backup running backs Week 6. On his only carry, Jackie Battle cashed in a 1-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter.

McCluster caught all six of his targets for 52 yards and ran twice for 6 yards. They'll visit the Redskins in Week 7.
