Taylor Thompson
News
Titans offensive coordinator Jason Michael likes what sees from tight end Taylor Thompson so far this offseason, reports the team's official website.

"I think Taylor Thompson has come along," Michael said. "He's still young to the position, with changing from defensive end, and I know we've talked about those things and at some point, he's got to put that behind him and move forward and be a tight end and I think he's making steps toward doing that and working hard every day. He's a big receiving threat who is a strong, physical guy and just has to put it all together. He's done a good job through OTAs and minicamp. We've just got to keep making those strides in training camp and into the season."

He'll be the No. 3 wideout behind Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter.

Kendall Wright
News
Titans receiver Kendall Wright is the team's best offensive player by a good margin, and Tennessee should force-feed him the ball, reports ESPN.com. The website notes Wright, who caught 94 passes last year, will be used more creatively by new coach Ken Whisenhunt: not just in the slot but outside, on deep throws and near the goal line.

"He's caught everything thrown to him, by whichever quarterback, over whichever defender, against whatever coverage," the report said.

Brandon Copeland
News
The Titans signed center Tyler Horn, defensive end Adewale Ojomo, tight end Adam Schiltz, linebacker Jonathan Willard, offensive tackle Jeff Adams, defensive tackle Chigbo Anunoby, cornerback George Baker and linebacker Brandon Copeland to reserve/futures contracts.
Michael Roos
News
The Titans might not start rookie offensive tackle Taylor Lewan until 2015, reports the Tennessean. But that all depends on the status of current left tackle Michael Roos, reports TitansInsider.com.

The Tennessean reports that Lewan will likely be the top reserve behind Roos and right tackle Michael Oher. It adds that "more than likely, Lewan is going to be a backup in 2014."

But TitansInsider.com reports that with Lewan in the fold, there is talk the Titans might move Roos. He is set to make $6.625 million this year and was paid a $1 million roster bonus last month.

The report adds that moving on from Roos would not cost the Titans anything cap wise since he is in the last year of his deal. But talk of the move is just speculation for now.

Shaun Phillips
News
Free agent defensive end Shaun Phillips signed a two-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Titans, reports the Tennessean. Phillips had 10 sacks for the Broncos last season.
Tommie Campbell

The Titans will be without the services of the following players Friday night against the Saints in preseason action: linebacker Colin McCarthy, center Chris Spencer, defensive lineman Antonio Johnson and defensive lineman Mike Martin
Bernard Pollard
News
Safety Bernard Pollard tweeted that he re-signed with the Titans for two years. He had 99 tackles and three interceptions last season.
Justin Hunter
News
Titans receiver Justin Hunter is making the fade pattern "look all too easy," reports the Tennessean. When the team get near the goal line, Jake Locker lofts a pass toward the corner of the end zone and "the 6-4, 203-pound Hunter turns into the Titans' version of a jack-in-the-box, leaping over defenders to haul in a touchdown pass – just as he did in Friday's loss to the Saints," the paper said.

"He's so big and so long, and he has the ability to jump and he has such a big catch radius," Locker told the paper. "You're able to put the ball a lot of places to give him a chance. That puts a lot of pressure on the defense at that point."

Hunter beat the Chargers with a leaping 34-yard touchdown catch in the closing seconds last year. He's looking for a lot more opportunities in the end zone this season.

"They want to use my big frame, so they throw it to me there," Hunter said. "The cornerback has to turn his back at some point to try to defend me. That's when I can use my leaping ability to go over the top of him – before he gets a chance to figure it out."
Sammie Lee Hill
News
Titans defensive tackle Sammie Lee Hill has been given the green light for Sunday at Indianapolis with a back injury that had him designated as questionable.
Ropati Pitoitua
News
The Titans agreed to a new three-year deal with defensive end Ropati Pitoitua on Thursday, the same day his son, Ryder, was born.

Per The Tennessean, Pitoitua will land $9.6 million over the deal with a $2.175 million signing bonus.

Pitoitua is a run-stopping defensive lineman with the Titans; he's totaled 95 tackles and seven sacks over the last two seasons.

Shonn Greene
News

Injury
Knee - Questionable for Week 3 of preseason
Jason McCourty
News

Colin McCarthy
News
Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy underwent shoulder surgery on Saturday, according to his social media account. The procedure will likely land him on the injured reserve list. McCarthy had 55 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble in 16 games in 2013.
Injury
Shoulder - Doubtful for start of season
Michael Oher

Andy Levitre
News
Guard Andy Levitre (hip), linebacker Akeem Ayers (knee) and center Brian Schwenke (ankle) will not participate in next week's OTAs as they recover from surgical procedures, reports ESPN.com.
Delanie Walker
News
Titans tight end Delanie Walker was a solid producer for Fantasy owners in 2013, but he enters this season still expected to be just a No. 2 option in the majority of leagues.

The Titans beat writer for the Tennessean, Jim Wyatt, shared his projections for Walker this season, and he has him at 62 catches for 646 yards and five touchdowns.

To see how those projections compare to mine and Dave Richard check out this Fantasy Football Today blog here.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated that his initial depth chart at running back -- Shonn Greene as starter, followed by Dexter McCluster and rookie Bishop Sankey -- isn't exactly written in stone.

"We had to list somebody at one," Whisenhunt told The Tennessean. "We're rotating those guys, and he was the senior member. He came back and has worked hard. That's where we are right now."

Derrick Morgan
News
The Titans' Derrick Morgan is moving from defensive end to outside linebacker in Tennessee's new 3-4 scheme. He told TitanInsider.com that he played some linebacker at Georgia Tech, so the transition won't be that difficult.

"My first position playing football was at linebacker, but it's been awhile. It's not too different. It's not too foreign for me to stand up and play out of a two-point stance. I've just got to continue to work at it," Morgan said. "I moved around a lot, especially my junior year, all over the field, linebacker, blitzing and stuff like that. I've definitely done it before."

Morgan has 16.5 sacks in four years and will be counted on to provide a big pass rush this season.

"I feel like I can rush the passer. That's what I was brought in to do. I feel like I can cover if need be," he said. "I'm still playing in the NFL. This is a great job. This is a change-up, but something I'm definitely going to embrace and work hard at."

Dexter McCluster is expected to get more touches at running back after getting 20 combined carries the past two years in Kansas City. He'll be the primary receiving threat out of the backfield. Jackie Battle is a 6-2, 240-pounder who's see most of his snaps in short-yardage or goal-line situations, the paper said.
