Eagles WRs Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper held in check
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
Eagles wideouts Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper were each held in check during Sunday's victory over the Titans in Week 12.
Maclin received the same amount of targets as rookie wideout (eight), but finished as the team's second leading-receiver with six catches for 59 yards. Cooper caught only three of the six pass thrown in his direction. He finished with 49 receiving yards in a 43-24 defeat.
49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did just enough to beat the Redskins Sunday completing 20 of his 29 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown.
His only touchdown occurred on the team’s first possession when he connected with Anquan Boldin for a 30-yard touchdown pass. Kaepernick ‘s lone mistake was a third quarter interception which snapped his streak of 129 pass attempts without an interception. He also rushed for 14 yards on nine attempts.
Redskins running back Alfred Morris has been the focal point of the offense for much of the last three games, and opposing defenses have been unable to slow him down, as was the case yet again in Week 12 against the 49ers.
Washington's offense was able to do little if Morris wasn't toting the ball, but he put together a huge game against a tough matchup nonetheless. Morris picked up his first 100-yard game of the season, rushing for 125 yards on 21 carries, including a rushing touchdown, his fourth in the last four games.
Morris is averaging just 4.3 yards per carry for the season, the worst total of his career, but seems well on his way to his third straight 1,000-yard season, with 826 yards with five games remaining. With how well he is running the ball, the offense around him might not matter, so consider Morris a must-start Fantasy option moving ahead to Week 13 against the Colts.
Eagles WR Jordan Matthews leads the way in Week 12 win
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
Eagles wideout Jordan Matthews led his position group in receiving yards for the third consecutive game, leading his team to a 43-24 victory over the Titans in Week 12.
Matthews was targeted eight times and finished with six grabs for 77 yards. He saw a streak of three games with at least one touchdown come to an end. He has 50 catches for 635 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
Philadelphia will face Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
Chargers wideout Keenan Allen caught six passes for a game-high 104 yards in the Week 12 win over the Rams, his second 100-yard game this season. Allen scored his second touchdown this season when he took a slip screen 29 yards in the fourth quarter.
Allen drew a team-high nine targets and has 33 catches over the last five games. He'll visit the Ravens in Week 13.
Texans kicker Randy Bullock made two field goals and one extra point during a 22-13 loss Week 12 vs. Cincinnati. Bullock made a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 25-yarder in the third quarter.
Bullock finished with less than 10 points for just the second time in five games Sunday. The Texans are back in action Week 13 vs. Tennessee.
Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer and star wide receiver Josh Gordon weren't entirely in sync in the latter's return from a 10-game suspension Week 12 at Atlanta, as evidenced by Hoyer's two interceptions late in the fourth quarter -- both on passes that sailed well beyond Gordon's reach. But even so, Gordon put up big numbers in his season debut, leading the Browns with eight catches for 120 yards.
Though the Browns initially said he'd play only 20-30 snaps, Gordon was consistently on the field, getting twice as many targets (16) as any other Browns player. And though his longest catch went for only 24 yards, he was targeted on several deep balls that, perhaps with a better rapport with Hoyer, could have resulted in big gains.
In other words, if you've stashed Gordon, the NFL's leading receiver last year, all this time, give yourself a pat on the back. He looks like he'll be a stud down the stretch and should have even bigger games than this one in store.
Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers completed 29 of 35 passes (83 percent) for 291 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Rams. Rivers threw a 99-yard pick-six to corner Janoris Jenkins in the second quarter, but made few mistakes after that.
With just over eight minutes left in the game, Rivers hit wideout Keenan Allen on a slip screen that turned into a 29-yard touchdown. Despite the solid performance, Rivers has accounted for two scores and five turnovers in his last three games.
