Broncos DE Derek Wolfe reinstated from suspended list
The Denver Broncos reinstated Derek Wolfe from the suspended list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Wolfe is set to resume playing after completing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Wolfe started all 16 games for the Broncos last season, but it remains to be seen if he will reclaim his starting job out of the gate.
James Casey: Released by Broncos
The Broncos released James Casey on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Casey was active for three games this year but did not record any statistics. He was removed from the roster to open up a spot for Derek Wolfe, who is returning from a suspension.
Steelers CB Cortez Allen limited in practice with knee injury
Cortez Allen (knee) was limited in practice Saturday.
He was a full participant Friday, but it's possible that he aggravated the knee issue. Consider him questionable for Monday night's game.
Steelers LB Ryan Shazier did not practice on Saturday
Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier (shoulder) did not practice Saturday.
This comes as a bit of a surprise, as he was a full-participant Friday. Make sure to check back on his status before Monday night's game, but it sounds like he is questionable to return to action this week.
Bills RB Dan Herron making fine first impression
Dan Herron , picked up by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, is already looking good in practices with his fresh legs and is hitting the hole better than any of the team's healthy backs, BuffaloBills.com reports. "I think Boom is going to...you know there's a good chance that he's going to be a part of the game plan," said offensive coordinator Greg Roman. "I really like what I see out of him, like what I hear out of him and he's picking things up pretty quickly."
Herron knows this offensive system because it's the same one used by his former team, the Colts. While Anthony Dixon will get first crack at the Titans this week, don't be surprised if Herron gets at least a handful of carries, with the potential for more should he look significantly better than Dixon. Still, he's a dart this week until things better sort themselves.
Packers' Morgan Burnett: Doubtful with calf injury
Morgan Burnett (calf) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game.
He has not practiced this week, so this does not come as a surprise. Michah Hyde and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will be the Green Bay Packers ' starting safeties Sunday.
Packers WR Davante Adams doubtful for Week 5 with ankle injury
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams (ankle) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game.
He was a non-participant in practice once again this week, so this comes as no surprise. Ty Montgomery , who was on the field for 72 snaps last week, will serve as the Packers' No. 3 wide receiver against the St. Louis Rams .
Jeremy Ross: Promoted from practice squad
Jeremy Ross was promoted from the Ravens' practice squad Saturday, the Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec reports.
He is expected to be the Ravens' primary kick returner and will also serve as the fifth wide receiver with Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman ailing.
Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar placed on injured reserve
Dallas Cowboys running back Lance Dunbar (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
This comes as no surprise as Dunbar had surgery earlier in the week to repair a torn ACL and he also has a partially torn MCL. The Cowboys signed wide receiver Vince Mayle to take Dunbar's spot on the roster.
Vince Mayle: Signed by Cowboys
Vince Mayle was signed off Cowboys' the practice squad Saturday, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
The Cowboys needed to add a skill player with Lance Dunbar getting placed on injured, so Mayle will get his shot. Look for him to see limited snaps initially.
