Redskins WR DeSean Jackson officially a no-go for Sunday
What was expected is official - a hamstring injury will keep Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson inactive for the Sunday game against Philadelphia.
Jackson appears to be closing in on a return, but certainly no exact timetable has been established. He has not played since his early knockout in Week 1.
Falcons LB Brooks Reed set to play against former teammates
Atlanta Falcons linebacker Brooks Reed (groin) is starting Sunday against Houston.
In his debut with Atlanta, he will line up versus his former team at strong-side linebacker, where he'll act as more of a pass rusher than a tackle machine.
Bucs DT Gerald McCoy overcomes shoulder injury to play Week 4
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy (shoulder) is active Sunday against the Carolina Panthers . He was listed as questionable.
Having McCoy is a big boost to the Bucs' rushing defense, as they try to contain Jonathan Stewart (tibia) and Cam Newton .
Texans RB Alfred Blue expected to work despite return of Foster
Houston Texans running back Alfred Blue could still receive some carries in Week 4 despite the return of featured back Arian Foster, the Houston Chronicle has speculated.
Blue rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries last Sunday against the Buccaneers. Once Foster's health is fully established, we'd expect the Texans to once again lean on him heavily.
Raiders LB Khalil Mack fine for battle against Bears
Oakland Raiders standout linebacker Khalil Mack (hip) is active for the Week 4 battle with the Bears.
Mack is coming off a big two-sack performance last week against Cleveland and will be looking to add to that total in this game.
Panthers WR Corey Brown set to play against Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Corey Brown (illness) is ready to roll Sunday against host Tampa Bay.
Brown's team-high snap count among wide receivers has yet to translate in the box score, as he sits in a tie with Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) and Mike Tolbert (groin) with seven targets through three games.
Colts TE Dwayne Allen sidelined a second straight game
Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against Jacksonville.
Allen was able to practice in a limited fashion both Thursday and Friday, but he's being held out of Sunday's game. Coby Fleener should get the bulk of targets at tight end as a result. Although, he'll have Matt Hasselbeck throwing him the ball instead of Andrew Luck , who is out with a shoulder injury.
Groin issue won't sideline Panthers RB Mike Tolbert on Sunday
Carolina Panthers running back Mike Tolbert (groin) is active for Sunday at Tampa Bay.
As his snaps have increased by the game this season, so have his touches, which maxed out at eight (five rushes and three receptions) in Week 3. Overall, six of 11 carries and three of eight targets have occurred in the red zone, signaling that his usage could soon hit paydirt.
Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes will not return in Week 4
Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes (knee) has been ruled out the remainder of Sunday's game against the New York Jets with a knee injury, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
With the Dolphins trailing big late in the game, it's not likely the Jets will be throwing much the rest of the way. Hpwever, Zach Bowman is taking over for Grimes.
Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart cleared to play Week 4
Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (tibia) is active for Sunday's game at Tampa Bay.
Stewart only took the practice field Friday, albeit in a full capacity, which forecast his installation as the Panthers' starting running back. Hindering his value, though, are goal-line vultures Cam Newton and Mike Tolbert .
