But if he should miss the team's mandatory minicamp in June, the Steelers may have a problem.
Brown, a breakout star in 2014, signed a six-year deal with the Steelers in 2012. So with three years remaining he has almost no leverage.
The possible strategy for Brown is to make it public now that he's seeking a new contract to help his case down the line.
