With Andre Roberts heading to the Redskins, the Browns "will be in on" free agent receiver Emmanuel Sanders as an "underneath guy," reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora. Sanders appears destined to leave the Steelers and would form a nice combo with Browns wideout Josh Gordon.
It sounds like free agent defensive end Michael Johnson signing with the Buccaneers is a done deal, reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
La Canfora reports that Johnson will sign in Tampa Bay for $8.5 million a year with around $24 million guaranteed.
Johnson is considered the top pass rusher available in free agency this offseason. With the Bengals the last two seasons Johnson has 15 sacks, 11 passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and over 100 total tackles.
Free agent nose tackle Earl Mitchell won't re-sign with the Texans, reports ESPN.com. The Dolphins, Chargers, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Bears and Cowboys are interested in Mitchell, who became a starter last season, the report said.
Free agent left tackle Jared Veldheer is expected to leave the Raiders for the Cardinals, who will pay him $7 million to $7.5 million annually, reports the Baltimore Sun. Oakland didn't use the franchise tag on Veldheer and now stands to lose him.
