No need to worry about LeSean McCoy's Fantasy ranking
The addition of Darren Sproles to the
McCoy had 314 carries and 52 catches last year. The rest of the Eagles' running backs combined for 86 carries and 12 catches. While there was probably a concern in Philadelphia to reduce McCoy's touches, the arrival of Sproles shouldn't signal anything close to a 50/50 or even 70/30 split. Remember, Sproles' best work in New Orleans came as a receiver out of the backfield, not as a pure rusher. I would be surprised if McCoy lost any more than five percent of his rushing workload and maybe 15-20 percent of his receiving workload.
Sheil Kapada of Philadelphia Magazine suggests, it's unlikely McCoy will see a significant decrease in work in 2014 and I agree. McCoy should land with at least 300 touches while Sproles settles for roughly 110 touches. The backups on the roster will probably cobble together another 50 touches.
I think it's fair to ballpark McCoy for 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns. He's no longer the top overall player for me in Fantasy -- that goes back to Jamaal Charles -- but he's still in the Top 3.
