Houston (knee) is believed to have suffered a minor injury, as initial tests only revealed a PCL sprain, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Houston was forced out of Sunday's win over Buffalo with a knee injury, but seems to have avoided serious damage. While tests are reportedly ongoing, Houston thus far has only been diagnosed with a sprained PCL, which is considered minor. The All Pro linebacker's status will be updated as more information is made available, but early indications appear relatively positive.
Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger: May have avoided concussion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Ben Roethlisberger entered himself into concussion protocol during Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but may have actually avoided suffering a concussion, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Roethlisberger took a shot to the head late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's contest, then made an admirable decision in reporting his condition to team doctors. While Pittsburgh's medical staff has yet to confirm whether or not Roethlisberger suffered a concussion, there remains the possibility that he did not. Either way, expect his status to be clarified sometime soon.
Quarless hasn't practiced since spraining his MCL during Week 3, but will re-join his teammates ahead of Thursday's game in Detroit. While the limited time before that game could make Quarless hard-pressed to play, it's at least encouraging that he should be back in action before long.
Report: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee) might miss only one game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport relays that it "sounds like" Rob Gronkowski (knee) is "unlikely to miss more than one game."
At first glance, it looked like Gronkowski may have suffered a serious injury, based on his reaction to the hit that led to him being carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Broncos. However, with the tone of the reports that have surfaced since then, it appears as though Gronkowski has avoided a serious injury, with Rapoport going so far as to suggest that the New England Patriots ' star tight end "may not even miss" any games at all.
Alex Carrington tore his quad tendon during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs and now requires season-ending surgery, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Carrington surprisingly found himself in the Buffalo Bills ' starting lineup Sunday in wake of injuries to teammates, but it appears he's suffered the same fate, as his quad ailment will cost him the rest of this season. Knowing that, Carrington finishes the campaign with eight tackles in seven appearances.
Zurlon Tipton signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
Tipton re-joins the Colts after being waived by the team just last week. However, with Ahmad Bradshaw (wrist) now on injured reserve, Tipton figures to see third-string running back duties behind Frank Gore and Dan Herron.
Ahmad Bradshaw (wrist) was placed on the Indianapolis Colts ' injured reserve list Monday, ending his 2015 season.
Bradshaw suffered a wrist injury during Sunday's win over the Buccaneers and will now land on season-ending IR for the third straight season. In just six games played this term, the 29-year-old managed only 85 yards on 31 carries, but caught three touchdown passes on 10 receptions. With Bradshaw out, expect the Colts to rely on the combination of Frank Gore and Dan Herron going forward.
Cameron Jordan made four tackles (two solo) and notched a sack in Sunday's loss to the Texans.
The sack was Jordan's seventh this season, and with five games still to go, he has almost passed his paltry 7.5-sack total from last year. The fact that Jordan has only 26 tackles (21 solo) remains a concern, as he has not finished with fewer than 47 tackles in a season since becoming a full-time starter for the New Orleans Saints , but if he continues to harass opposing quarterbacks, his IDP owners likely will not complain. Up next is a tough Week 13 tilt against a Panthers' offense that held him to only two tackles in Week 3.
Stephone Anthony made ten tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's loss to the Texans.
Anthony continues to build on his impressive rookie season, as he has at least eight tackles in each of his last four games and continues to lead the team in that department. While he may not offer a ton of statistical variance - has has only a single interception and single sack this season - Anthony is proving to be a consistent performer at linebacker for IDP owners.
Kenny Vaccaro made 13 tackles (8 solo) and forced a fumble in Sunday's loss to the Texans.
Vaccaro's stats have been up and down as of late, but Sunday marked the third time this season that he recorded double-digit tackles, an impressive feat for a defensive back. Though he has a goose-egg in the turnover department and has only one sack this season, Vaccaro is second on the New Orleans Saints in tackles, and he should remain a solid option in most IDP leagues.
