Falcons' Matt Bryant: Dealing with quad issue
With Matt Bryant having strained his quad Wednesday during practice, the Atlanta Falcons have signed Shayne Graham.
The Falcons haven't ruled Bryant out for Sunday's game against the Vikings, but the fact that the team move so swiftly to add another kicker suggests that Bryant is in danger of missing the contest.
Eagles' Mark Sanchez: Starting Thursday
Mark Sanchez will start Thursday's game in Detroit, Geoff Mosher of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Earning his second start in a row for an inactive Sam Bradford (concussion/shoulder), Sanchez will direct the Philadelphia Eagles ' offense against a Detroit defense that has given up multiple touchdown passes in six of 10 contests this season. However, in back-to-back appearances, Sanchez has completed 40 of 64 passes for 417 yards and two touchdowns versus four interceptions.
Lions' Eric Ebron: Listed as active Thursday
Eric Ebron (quadriceps/hand) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Eagles.
Ebron will thus look to bounce back from a zero-catch effort against the Raiders this past Sunday. Prior to his quiet effort in Week 11, Ebron had caught 27 passes for 320 yards and three TDs over his first seven outings.
Eagles' Sam Bradford: Inactive Thursday
Sam Bradford (concussion/shoulder) is listed as inactive Thursday at Detroit, Geoff Mosher of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Although Bradford took part in a pregame warmup to test out his shoulder, he won't start and, in fact, not even suit up, missing his second consecutive contest. The Philadelphia Eagles will instead turn to Mark Sanchez under center.
Lions' Calvin Johnson: Suits up Thursday
Calvin Johnson (ankle) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Eagles.
The Detroit Lions ' top wideout will give it a go Thursday, as expected, and should be in line to see his share of targets in the team's Week 12 offense. Through 10 games, Johnson -- who saw nine looks (resulting in five catches for 88 yards) in Week 11 - has been targeted an average of 9.8 times per contest.
Falcons' Devonta Freeman: Won't practice Thursday
Devonta Freeman (concussion) won't practice Thursday.
Coach Dan Quinn acknowledged Thursday that the Atlanta Falcons are preparing as though Freeman won't play Sunday against the Vikings, and in such a scenario, Tevin Coleman would be in line to head the team's Week 12 backfield.
Falcons' Shayne Graham: Signed by Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons have signed Shayne Graham .
Graham was added by the team Thursday, with Matt Bryant having strained his quad Wednesday during practice and thus potentially missing Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Vikings' Harrison Smith: Misses practice Wednesday
Harrison Smith did not practice Wednesday due to a sore knee but expects to play Sunday against Atlanta, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Smith hurt his knee early in last week's loss to Green Bay but was able to play a full game. It sounds like he just needs some rest for the injury, but check to see if he practices Friday.
Lions' Calvin Johnson: On track to suit up Thursday
The Detroit Lions expect to have Calvin Johnson (ankle) available for Thursday's game against the Eagles , NFL Network's Alber Breer reports.
Official confirmation of Johnson's status will arrive upon the release of the Lions' inactives in advance of Thursday's 12:30 ET kickoff, but it looks like he will be a go for the contest, barring any pre-game setbacks.
Eagles' Sam Bradford: Not in line to start Thursday
The Philadelphia Eagles plan to start Mark Sanchez over Sam Bradford (concussion, shoulder) at QB on Thursday against the Lions, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
It remains to be seen if Bradford -- who is officially listed as questionable for the contest -- will suit up as a backup Thursday, but it looks like he's in line to give way to Sanchez for the second straight game.
