Anquan Boldin getting 'more honest looks' from defenses
“We get a lot more honest looks from defenses because we have a balance across the field, as far as the capability to make plays," quarterback Colin Kaepernick told the San Francisco Chronicle. "That’s opened up a lot of things for Anquan."
In the seven games before Crabtree's return, Boldin averaged four catches for 50.3 yards. In three games with Crabtree, Bolden has averaged six catches for 81.3 yards.
Monday night, Boldin faces a Falcons defense giving up the 11th-most Fantasy points to receivers (23.4 per game). Atlanta has surrendered the fourth-most passing touchdowns (28).
Start Boldin as a WR3 in Week 16.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis should play more of a role
Chances are that won't happen again Week 16 against Minnesota. The Vikings have been more competitive in recent weeks and even jumped out to an early lead against the Eagles last week, but they're not kind of team that would force the Bengals, an expected contender, to abandon their usual game plan -- the one that resulted in three rushing touchdowns for Green-Ellis in the two games prior to Week 15.
The Vikings rank 20th against the run, allowing 115.9 yards per game, and 30th against the pass, allowing 290.6 yards per game, so one way or another, the Bengals will move the ball against them. And when they get it inside the 5-yard line, there's a good chance it'll go to Green-Ellis.
Of course, if he doesn't score, he won't give you many points on yardage alone, which is why he should never be your first choice at running back. But don't let last week's performance keep you from using him in your flex spot.

Michael Crabtree returning to form at right time
Now Crabtree is poised to do serious damage, as he faces Atlanta on Monday night.
The Falcons give up the 11th-most Fantasy points to wideouts (23.4 per game). They've yielded the eighth-most passing yards (255 per game) and fourth-most passing scores (28). Washington's No. 1 receiver, Pierre Garcon, just ripped Atlanta for seven catches, 129 yards and a touchdown.
Roll with Crabtree as a WR2.

Giovani Bernard a good bet to bounce back
Though running back
And they'd probably rank even lower if teams weren't so busy throwing the ball against their 30th-rank pass defense, which also works to Bernard's advantage. Though he and BenJarvus Green-Ellis split carries almost evenly most weeks, Bernard is clearly the preferred option in passing situations. He has 49 receptions this year to Green-Ellis' three.
Whether in front of or behind the line of scrimmage, the yards are coming for Bernard this week. He's always a little risky since he doesn't play every down, but Jamey Eisenberg, Dave Richard and Nathan Zegura all rank him among their top 20 running backs.

Andre Johnson has solid Week 16 matchup
The Broncos have allowed a wide receiver touchdown in five straight games, giving up seven in that span. Two receivers have gone over 100 yards and two (Keenan Allen and Julian Edelman) have scored twice in a game over that stretch. Johnson's a nice fit for this matchup, because his scoring has come in bunches (he's scored five touchdowns this season, all coming over two games) and he has six games of 100-plus yards.
Johnson has been erratic this season, and his best games have come with Case Keenum as his quarterback (Matt Schaub is starting this week), but he's still a great wide receiver option and can be started in most formats.

Donald Brown could be candidate to start Week 16
Despite the Chiefs being one of the better teams in the NFL this season, they have had their issues against the run, particularly as of late. In the last six games, running backs are averaging 117.2 rushing yards and 24 Fantasy points per week against Kansas City. Running backs have totaled eight touchdowns (six rushing) in that span.
There's obviously some concern Brown might suffer a setback Sunday or Trent Richardson could get more touches after he played well in Brown's absence last week. But Brown is a better running back in this offense and likely didn't lose his starter reps because he got banged up last week. If Brown is in the lineup Sunday, then he deserves consideration as a No. 3 Fantasy running back or flex option because of the matchup.
