Player News
Erik Haula
Wild's Haula Likely A Scratch Tuesday
Erik Haula, LW, MIN
7:16 AM
News: Erik Haula will likely be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Oilers, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "It's not about skating in open ice and it's not about skating fast in a straight line," Wild coach Mike Yeo said of Haula. "It's about the compete level in the small areas, it's about being strong on the puck and puck strength and stick strength and D-zone coverage. These are the things that we need to see from him."
Analysis: Erik Haula has shown glimpses of his impressive talent, but he's yet to provide consistent production at the NHL level. He has just four goals and three assists in 41 games this season, after recording six goals and nine assists in 46 games last year.

Eric Boulton
Isles' Boulton Placed On IR
Eric Boulton, LW, NYI
7:11 AM
News: Eric Boulton (undisclosed) has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 17, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.
Analysis: A healthy scratch for the past couple of months, Eric Boulton presumably suffered an injury during practice. His absence doesn't change much for the Islanders.

Kyle Okposo
Isles' Okposo Placed On IR
Kyle Okposo, RW, NYI
7:07 AM
News: Kyle Okposo, who is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with an upper body injury, has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 19, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: The transaction is merely a formality, as Kyle Okposo is expected to miss the entire month of February, at the very least.

Lubomir Visnovsky
Islanders' Visnovsky Expected Back Tuesday
Lubomir Visnovsky, D, NYI
6:54 AM
News: Lubomir Visnovsky (upper body) is expected to return for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.
Analysis: Lubomir Visnovsky returned to practice last Tuesday, so it's not surprise that he'll be ready for the first game of the second half. He has three goals and eight assists in 29 games this season.

Marcus Foligno
Sabres' Foligno Still Without Tmetable
Marcus Foligno, LW, BUF
6:50 AM
News: Marcus Foligno (hand) is making progress in his recovery, but he still doesn't not have a timetable to return, the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: After suffering the injury in late December, Marcus Foligno was given a loose timetable of approximately one-to-two months. There hasn't been any update since that time.

Cameron Schilling
Caps' Schilling Recalled From AHL
Cameron Schilling, D, WAS
6:45 AM
News: Cameron Schilling has been recalled from AHL Hershey, the Washington Post's ALex Prewitt reports.
Analysis: The 26-year-old defenseman has just two NHL appearances to his name, with one coming in 2012-13 and another in 2013-14. Through 40 AHL games this season, he has two goals, 10 assists and 33 PIM.

Jonas Gustavsson
Red WIngs' Gustavsson Getting Closer
Jonas Gustavsson, G, DET
6:43 AM
News: Jonas Gustavsson (shoulder) practice Monday, and he may be activated from injured reserve within the next few days, The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Jonas Gustavsson won't be back for Tuesday's game against the Panthers, but he may stand a chance to return for Thursday's contest in Tampa Bay. He seems to be a couple of weeks ahead of Jimmy Howard (groin), which means the Red Wings don't need to make an immediate decision on whether Gustavsson or Peter Mrazek will serve as Howard's top backup down the stretch. It's also unclear how the playing time will be split between Mrazek and Gustavsson until Howard returns.

Jimmy Howard
Red Wings' Howard Skates Briefly Before Practice
Jimmy Howard, G, DET
6:40 AM
News: Jimmy Howard skated for about 15 minutes before Monday's practice, and he said afterward that he hasn't suffered any setbacks, The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Jimmy Howard said he's making progress, and while he isn't setting an updated timetable, he said the original estimate of one month still sounds about right. Having last played Jan. 10, he's seemingly shooting for a return in early-to-mid February.

Johan Franzen
Red WIngs' Franzen Still Not Practicing
Johan Franzen, LW, DET
6:37 AM
News: Johan Franzen (concussion) didn't practice Monday, and he still doesn't have a timetable to return, The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Johan Franzen last played in a game Jan. 6, and it's now known that he's recovering from a concussion. He has a pretty notable history of dealing with concussions, including an absence of approximately two months last season.

Tomas Jurco
Red Wings' Jurco A Game-Time Decision
Tomas Jurco, RW, DET
6:31 AM
News: Tomas Jurco (back) will likely be a game-time decision Tuesday against the Panthers, The Detroit News reports.
Analysis: Tomas Jurco, who hasn't played in a game since Jan. 6, participated in Monday's practice. If he doesn't return Tuesday, he may make it back for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay.
