David Backes
Blues' Backes Iffy For Wednesday
David Backes, C, STL
12:28 AM
News: Coach Ken Hitchcock did not elaborate on the status of David Backes (head) for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Blackhawks, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: We do know that David Backes wasn't on the ice for the team's Wednesday morning skate, so his status for the Blues' evening tilt against Chicago remains cloudy. When asked if Backes might play Wednesday, all Hitchcock would reveal was, "he wasn't available for the pre-game skate."

Vernon Fiddler
Stars' Fiddler Adds Goal, Assist In Win
Vernon Fiddler, C, DAL
4/23/2014
News: Vernon Fiddler recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: Vernon Fiddler also picked up a 10-minute misconduct penalty at the 17:50 mark of the third period as things got chippy between the two teams at the end of the game. The two points were Fiddler's first of the series, as the Stars' third line dominated most of the night.

Shawn Horcoff
Stars' Horcoff Adds Two Helpers In Win
Shawn Horcoff, C, DAL
4/23/2014
News: Shawn Horcoff chipped in two assists in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: The center has found the score sheet in each of the last three games, and now has four points in the playoffs. He and Vernon Fiddler were an unexpected source of secondary scoring Wednesday, giving the Stars another offensive threat other than the Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin line.

Kari Lehtonen
Stars' Lehtonen Allows Two In Win
Kari Lehtonen, G, DAL
4/23/2014
News: Kari Lehtonen stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: The Stars evened up their Round 1 series Wednesday, as the Ducks were without Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) and Teemu Selanne (healthy scratch). Kari Lehtonen will look to continue his stellar play Friday when the series heads back to Anaheim for Game 5.

Brandon Dubinsky
Jackets' Dubinsky Posts Two Points In Win
Brandon Dubinsky, C, CLB
4/23/2014
News: Brandon Dubinsky collected a goal and an assist in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Penguins.
Analysis: It was Brandon Dubinsky's second straight multi-point game, giving him six points in four playoff contests so far. He'll need to continue to produce as the series heads back to Pittsburgh for Game 5 on Saturday.

Ryan Johansen
Jackets' Johansen Adds Goal, Assist In Win
Ryan Johansen, C, CLB
4/23/2014
News: Ryan Johansen recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Penguins.
Analysis: Ryan Johansen chipped in two more points Wednesday, including an assist on the game-tying goal with less than 30 seconds to play in regulation. He now has five points in four playoff games, and will look to stay hot as the Jackets try to take the lead in the series with a Game 5 win.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Jackets' Bobrovsky Allows Three In Win
Sergei Bobrovsky, G, CLB
4/23/2014
News: Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Penguins.
Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky hasn't been at the top of his game in Round 1 so far, but the Jackets will head into Game 5 with a chance to take the lead in the series anyway. With two of the next three games in Pittsburgh, he'll need to improve in order to advance in the playoffs.

Paul Martin
Pens' Martin Stays Hot
Paul Martin, D, PIT
4/23/2014
News: Paul Martin recorded two assists in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Despite his team losing the game in dramatic fashion, Paul Martin had another productive game. He has posted two assists in every game so far in the first round, and currently leads the league in points and assists in the playoffs.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Pens' Fleury Stops 42 In OT Loss
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, PIT
4/23/2014
News: Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on 46 shots in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Marc-Andre Fleury let a weak wrister from the blue line sail past him in the extra period, giving the Blue Jackets the win. Fleury is expected to be in net in Game 5 when the series returns to Pittsburgh tied at two games apiece.

Patrick Maroon
Ducks' Maroon Gets First Postseason Goal Of Career
Patrick Maroon, LW, ANA
4/23/2014
News: Patrick Maroon scored a goal late in the first period of a 4-2 loss in Dallas in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs on Wednesday.
Analysis: Patrick Maroon scored only 11 times during the regular season, but ended the season on a high note with three goals in the final three games. The Ducks will hope that Wednesday's performance is a sign that he is continuing his end of the season level of play, as the Stars now have the momentum and the series is tied at 2-2.
