Player News
Jonas Brodin
Wild's Brodin Out Thursday
Jonas Brodin, D, MIN
7:38 AM
News: Jonas Brodin (general soreness) will not play in Thursday's game against the Sharks, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
Analysis: Head coach Mike Yeo said Jonas Brodin is feeling better, but he will sit out for the second straight game. His next opportunity to play will come Saturday against the Stars.

Craig Anderson
Senators' Anderson To Start Thursday
Craig Anderson, G, OTT
7:33 AM
News: Craig Anderson will start Thursday's game against the Blackhawks, TSN's Steve Lloyd reports.
Analysis: Craig Anderson will face a familiar opponent, as he just faced the Blackhawks on Sunday. He gave up just two goals in that game but was saddled with the loss, so he will be looking for a similar performance but a different result Thursday night.

Robin Lehner
Senators' Lehner Unavailable Thursday
Robin Lehner, G, OTT
7:30 AM
News: Robin Lehner will not be available for Thursday's game due to the pending birth of his child, TSN's Steve Lloyd reports.
Analysis: Fellow goaltender Andrew Hammond was recalled from AHL Binghamton on an emergency basis to take Robin Lehner's spot on the roster Thursday night. Craig Anderson will start for the Senators on Thursday however.

Antti Raanta
Hawks' Raanta To Travel For 2-Game Road Trip
Antti Raanta, G, CHI
7:26 AM
News: Antti Raanta will travel with the Blackhawks' two other goalies, Scott Darling and Corey Crawford, for the upcoming road trip, Thursday in Ottawa and Saturday in Toronto, Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: In a surprise Darling has started the last two game while Antti Raanta has been on the bench with Crawford still out with an upper-body injury. Raanta has looked pretty good in his three starts (1-2, 2.03 goals against average and .933 save percentage) this season, but the Blackhawks' management has also liked Darling. Both Darling and Raanta can be sent down to Rockford of the AHL without going through waivers. The Blackhawks were expected to name the starting goalie against Ottawa later on Thursday.

David Van der Gulik
Kings Recall Van der Gulik On Emergency Basis
David Van der Gulik, RW, LA
7:21 AM
News: The Kings recalled David Van der Gulik from AHL Manchester on an emergency basis Thursday, LA Kings Insider reports.
Analysis: The Kings played a man down in Tuesday's game, so they were allowed to bring up David Van der Gulik without having to send him through waivers when they remove him from the roster. Van der Gulik has two goals and 11 assists in 48 career NHL games.

Scott Darling
Hawks' Darling To Travel 2-Game Road Trip
Scott Darling, G, CHI
7:20 AM
News: Scott Darling will travel along with the other Blackhawks' two goalies, Corey Crawford and Antti Raanta, for the upcoming two-game road trip, Thursday in Ottawa and Saturday in Toronto, Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Scott Darling's performance in two games has caused a quandary for the Blackhawks on whether to send him or Raanta down to Rockford of the AHL. Both can be sent down to Rockford without going through waivers. Darling has given up only one goal in each of his two games with a save percentage of .966. Crawford has missed the last five games because of an upper-body injury and might return Thursday against the Senators. The Blackhawks are expected to announce the starter against Ottawa later on Thursday.

Roman Josi
Preds' Josi Tallies Two Helpers
Roman Josi, D, NSH
7:05 AM
News: Roman Josi picked up two assists -- his first and second of the season -- in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Oilers. He also skated to a plus-2 rating and shot a season-high five shots on goal.
Analysis: Roman Josi's owners have been itching to see more out of Shea Weber's defense partner (both at even strength and on the man advantage), so it was nice that Josi tripled his point total in this one. He now has a goal, two assists and is a plus-5 with no PIM in nine games this year.

Craig Smith
Preds' Smith Finds Twine Twice Wednesday
Craig Smith, C, NSH
6:54 AM
News: Craig Smith potted his second and third goals of the year in Wedneday's 4-1 win over the Oilers. He also fired five shots on net and skated to a plus-1.
Analysis: Craig Smith is enjoying time on a surprisingly capable second line with Derek Roy and Matt Cullen, who tallied an assist each on Smith's goals. The fourth-year NHLer quietly racked up 24 goals and 28 assists while firing 216 shots on goal last season, and he seems primed to best those numbers with the first line of James Neal, Mike Ribeiro and Filip Forsberg taking some of the heat off him.

Ben Scrivens
Oilers' Scrivens Streak Ends With Loss
Ben Scrivens, G, EDM
6:48 AM
News: Ben Scrivens' four-game win streak came to an end Wednesday in a 4-1 loss to the visiting Predators. He stopped 31 of 35 shots.
Analysis: Tough luck for Ben Scrivens, who ran into a surprisingly potent Nashville offense in this one. He was bound to take a step back at some point after rattling off four straight wins at home, but he definitely flashed his upside and will give prospective fantasy owners something to think about should they need a goaltender. Despite the run of victories that saw him stop 102 of 110 shots for a save percentage of .927, Scrivens' mark on the year still sits below the coveted .900 mark (.896) to go with a 3.01 GAA, so he's still far from an elite option on an inconsistent Oilers team.

Pekka Rinne
Preds' Rinne Ends Oilers' Streak With Win
Pekka Rinne, G, NSH
6:40 AM
News: Pekka Rinne narrowly missed a shutout Wednesday, stopping 26 of 27 shots in a 4-1 road win over the Oilers. The victory ended a four-game win streak for Edmonton.
Analysis: The home team finally got to the big Finnish netminder near the midway mark of the third, denying Pekka Rinne of his second shutout of the season. He's now a marvelous 6-1-1 on a surprisingly successful Predators squad, and with his 1.71 GAA and .936 save percentage, he appears to be regaining his elite status in net.
