Player News
Ryan Getzlaf
Ducks' Getzlaf Iffy For Friday
Ryan Getzlaf, C, ANA
4/25/2014
News: Coach Bruce Boudreau said that Ryan Getzlaf's (upper body) status for Friday's Game 5 against the Stars is "up in the air" at this stage.
Analysis: Ryan Getzlaf -- who suffered multiple facial injuries after being hit with a puck in Game 1 of the series -- was a surprise scratch from Wednesday's Game 4 and regardless of what's currently ailing him, the Ducks' captain remains iffy for Friday's pivotal Game 5 at home.

David Backes
Blues' Backes Not On The Ice Thursday
David Backes, C, STL
4/25/2014
News: David Backes (head) did not take the ice Thursday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Of more import is what David Backes does (or doesn't do) Friday, as Game 5 of the Blues' playoff series against the Blackhawks -- which is now deadlocked at 2-2 -- continues that evening.

Jonas Gustavsson
Red Wings' Gustavsson Starts Game 4
Jonas Gustavsson, G, DET
5:11 PM
News: Jonas Gustavsson will start in place of teammate Jimmy Howard at goalie in Thursday's Game 4 against the Bruins, NHL.com's Dan Rosen reports.
Analysis: Jonas Gustavsson will make his first career playoff start as a result of Howard missing Thursday's game with the flu. In nine career games versus Boston, Gustavsson is 4-4-1 with a 3.12 GAA and .893 save percentage.

Henrik Zetterberg
Red Wings' Zetterberg (Back) Returns Thursday
Henrik Zetterberg, LW, DET
4:55 PM
News: Henrik Zetterberg (back) will play in Thursday's Game 4 against the Bruins, NHL.com's Dan Rosen reports.
Analysis: Henrik Zetterberg will make his long-anticipated return from over a two-month absence in hopes of reviving Detroit's offense in Game 4. While the winger is expected to see limited action, he should provide a jolt to the Red Wings and their fan base.

Matt Beleskey
Ducks' Beleskey Iffy For Friday
Matt Beleskey, LW, ANA
2:43 PM
News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Stars, Mark Stepneski of stars.nhl.com reports.
Analysis: The report suggests that Matt Beleskey could play Sunday in Dallas, but it looks like he is on track to miss his fourth straight game come Friday.

Jamie Benn
Stars' Jamie Benn's Point Streak At Nine
Jamie Benn, LW, DAL
1:40 PM
News: Jamie Benn had a goal in Wednesday's win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Jamie Benn now has points in nine straight, including all four playoff games where he has tallied three goals and an assist.

Brenden Dillon
Stars' Dillon A Game-Time Decision For Friday
Brenden Dillon, D, DAL
1:31 PM
News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) is viewed as a game-time decision for Friday's Game 5 against the Ducks, Mark Stepneski of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Though Brenden Dillon -- who skated again Thursday -- says that he is feeling better every day, whether he suits up Friday will be up to the Stars' medical staff and coach Lindy Ruff.

Alex Goligoski
Goligoski Grabs First Goal For Stars
Alex Goligoski, D, DAL
1:27 PM
News: Alex Goligoski scored his first goal of the postseason while logging 32:48 in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: Alex Goligoski is logging some big minutes for Dallas. He's averaging 29:08 per game, which is seventh highest in the postseason. Four of the players ahead of him are a part of the Chicago and St. Louis series, which has seen five overtime periods through four games.

Alex Galchenyuk
Habs' Galchenyuk Set To Miss Another Round
Alex Galchenyuk, C, MON
11:43 AM
News: Alex Galchenyuk (knee) isn't expected to be ready to play until the Eastern Conference Finals round, the Montreal Gazette reports.
Analysis: Though the Habs advanced to the second round after easily taking care of the Lightning in four games, Alex Galchenyuk still needs a couple more weeks before entertaining the idea of a return. He first suffered his knee injury back on Apr. 9 and was given a projected recovery timetable for four-to-six weeks.

Jonathan Quick
Kings To Start Quick In Game 4
Jonathan Quick, G, LA
11:05 AM
News: Jonathan Quick will be in the net for Thursday's Game 4 against the Sharks, Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com reports.
Analysis: Jonathan Quick turned in his best outing of the series in Game 3, stopping 36 of 40 shots, but it wasn't enough to outduel Antti Niemi, as the Sharks fell in overtime. Despite Quick's struggles in the postseason, coach Darryl Sutter will stick with him in the hope the former Conn Smythe winner can turn things around.
