News: Brian Elliott will start in goal Sunday against the Wild, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Analysis: Ryan Miller will get a breather in the second half a back-to-back set, after he extended his record with St. Louis to 4-0 with a win over the Avalanche on Saturday. Brian Elliott was hit just above the mouth by a puck during the third period of Saturday's game and was forced to leave the bench, but he clearly didn't suffer any sort of serious injury.
News: Mathieu Perreault (upper body) won't play Monday against the Maple Leafs, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Analysis: The report adds that Mathieu Perreault -- who is currently on the Ducks' IR list -- appears to be dealing with a sprained thumb or wrist. In 52 games with the team to date, Perreault has recorded 12 goals and 30 points.
News: Luca Sbisa (knee) won't play Monday against the Maple Leafs, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports. Analysis: Luca Sbisa is dealing with a left knee injury that he sustained Friday against the Penguins. With two assists in 17 games to date to go along with a minus-7 rating, Sbisa's fantasy impact thus far has been limited to the 35 PIM he has recorded in that span.
News: Kari Lehtonen is listed as day-to-day by the Stars with a head injury, the team's official site reports. Analysis: With Kari Lehtonen out for the time being, the Stars will turn to recently-acquired Tim Thomas in net, with Cristopher Nilstorp having been recalled from AHL Texas to serve in a backup capacity.
News: Daniel Paille was forced out of Sunday's game against the Panthers with an unspecified injury, the Boston Globe reports. Analysis: Daniel Paille left Sunday's game after taking a hit from Ed Jovanovski during the first period. If he is forced to miss any action beyond Sunday, look for Jordan Caron to be reintroduced to the B's lineup.
News: Ilya Bryzgalov will start Sunday's game against the Blues, the Wild's official site reports. Analysis: Ilya Bryzgalov -- who the Wild acquired in advance of the recent NHL trade deadline, is slated to square off against Brian Elliott on Sunday. It will be his first appearance in net since March 1, when he was with the Oilers.
News: Matt Stajan has taken a personal leave from the Flames following the passing of his newborn son, the Canadian Press reports. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Katie and Matt at this difficult time," the Flames said in a statement Sunday. "We appreciate that everyone has and will continue to respect their privacy during this period." Analysis: Expect the Flames to give Matt Stajan all the time he needs before he's ready to return to the team.
News: Cris Nilstorp was recalled from AHL Texas on Sunday. Analysis: After Kari Lehtonen suffered a head injury Saturday, the Stars went ahead and gave Cris Nilstorp the call to serve as Tim Thomas' backup for the time being. Lehtonen is currently listed as day-to-day, but he took a pretty nasty spill into the crossbar and it wouldn't be all that surprising to see him miss several games. In 39 games with Texas this season, Nilstorp has gone 21-12-4 with a 2.58 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
News: Shea Weber has just two assists in his last eight games and has a combined minus-3 rating. Analysis: It should come as no surprise that in those same eight games, the Predators have won just once and now have a near impossible 0.6 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Canadian Olympian is still second among NHL defensemen in goals with 15, and eighth overall with 40 points, but the offensively challenged Predators need more from their star captain. He'll need to go on a tear for the remaining 18 games to surpass his career high of 53 points set in 2008-2009. On the bright side, if anyone can do it, it's Shea.
News: Tim Thomas appears to be in line to see added action in the coming days, with Kari Lehtonen day-to-day with a head injury, TSN.ca reports. Analysis: Coach Lindy Ruff suggested Sunday that Lehtonen -- who had his bell rung in a collision during Saturday's game -- is "not doing that well" at this stage and it looks like Tim Thomas is in line to see some added action in the coming days, starting with Monday's game against the Blue Jackets.
