Player News
Cody McLeod
Avs' McLeod Moved To Second Line
Cody McLeod, LW, COL
3/7/2015
News: Cody McLeod will skate on the Avs' second line for the game in Columbus on Saturday, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Cody McLeod will fill the void created by the injury to Nathan MacKinnon, and skate alongside Gabriel Landeskog and Ryan O'Reilly in Saturday's matchup against the Blue Jackets. It was not stated as to whether this will be a lineup used for the remainder of the season or just a temporary fix for the game against Columbus.

Korbinian Holzer
Ducks' Holzer Skates With Team
Korbinian Holzer, D, ANA
3/7/2015
News: Korbinian Holzer (concussion) skated with the Ducks at Friday's morning session, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports.
Analysis: The concussion has prevented Korbinian Holzer from suiting up with the Ducks since his Mar. 2 acquisition from the Maple Leafs, but it looks like he's almost fully recovered from the head injury. It doesn't sound as though he'll join the lineup for Friday's game against the Penguins, but he could be ready to go in advance of Monday's tilt with the Canucks.

Matt Irwin
Sharks' Irwin Suffers Upper Body Injury
Matt Irwin, D, SJ
3/7/2015
News: Matt Irwin left Friday's practice due to an upper body injury, CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz reports.
Analysis: The injury leaves Matt Irwin uncertain for Saturday's game against the Canucks. The blueliner has been surprisingly productive of late, with a point in each of his last four games, after managing just 11 points through the first 36 games of the season.

Brett Connolly
Bruins' Connolly Undergoes Finger Surgery
Brett Connolly, RW, BOS
3/7/2015
News: Brett Connolly (broken finger) underwent successful surgery Thursday morning, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: As was suggested earlier in the week, Brett Connolly will be forced to miss the next six weeks while he heals up, taking a return before the end of the regular season off the table. The Bruins failed to get a single game from Connolly following his acquisition prior to Monday's trade deadline.

Tyler Seguin
Stars' Seguin (Knee) Could Return Tuesday
Tyler Seguin, C, DAL
3/7/2015
News: Tyler Seguin (knee) will not play in Saturday's game against the Lightning, but he may return for Tuesday's game in Philadelphia, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Tyler Seguin resumed skating with his teammates this week, and Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said the superstar center is approaching day-to-day status. If he's not ready by Tuesday, Seguin could perhaps return for Thursday's game in Carolina.

Thomas Greiss
Pens' Greiss Expected To Start Friday
Thomas Greiss, G, PIT
3/7/2015
News: Thomas Greiss was first off the ice at morning skate, indicating that he will likely start Friday's game in Anaheim, Sam Werner of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: With Thomas Greiss on track for Friday night, Marc-Andre Fleury figures to handle Saturday's game against the Kings. Greiss hasn't started a game since Feb. 21, and he has only made 13 starts this season.

Michael Latta
Caps' Latta Avoids Structural Damage
Michael Latta, C, WAS
3/7/2015
News: Michael Latta (upper body) is expected to return to action next week, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: The Capitals' medical staff has cleared Michael Latta of any structural damage, but it sounds like the injury will cost him at least a second straight game Saturday against the Sabres. The team will likely revisit his progress after the weekend to determine if he'll be fit to play next Wednesday against the Rangers.

Joey Hishon
Avs' Hishon Should Play Saturday
Joey Hishon, C, COL
3/7/2015
News: Joey Hishon (undisclosed) is expected to play Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Joey Hishon was forced to exit Friday's practice after colliding with a teammate, but coach Patrick Roy said after the session that the center was feeling fine. Barring a late-arriving setback, Hishon should be poised to center the Avs' fourth line Saturday.

Brendan Gallagher
Montreal's Gallagher Scores In Loss
Brendan Gallagher, RW, MON
12:00 PM
News: Brendan Gallagher scored his 18th goal of the season and went plus-1 in Thursday night's 4-3 shootout loss to the Kings.
Analysis: Brendan Gallagher is enjoying life since his move to the top line -- that's the place to be for a Canadien forward. He has nine points (five goals, four assists) in the last eight games.

Erik Gudbranson
Panthers' Gudbranson Should Be Good To Go
Erik Gudbranson, D, FLA
11:54 AM
News: Erik Gudbranson (illness) should be able to play in Saturday's game against the Islanders, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: The Panthers sent fellow defenseman Shane O'Brien back to AHL San Antonio, indicating that Erik Gudbranson will miss just the one game.
