Player News
Calvin Pickard
Avs' Pickard Makes 17 Saves For First NHL Win
Calvin Pickard, G, COL
12:54 PM
News: Calvin Pickard stopped all 17 of the shots he faced for his first NHL win Saturday against Carolina.
Analysis: Pikcard didn't start Saturday's game, but was called upon in the first period after starter Reto Berra was pulled. Berra gave up three goals on 10 shots, but Calvin Pickard was able to step in and help the team comeback to defeat the Canes. With the way Berra has struggled this season, there is a chance Pickard could stick with the Avalanche once starter Semyon Varlamov (groin) returns from injury. The 22-year-old youngster is 1-2-0 this season with a respectable .913 save percentage and 2.66 GAA.

Shane Doan
Coyotes' Doan Scores Seventh Of Season
Shane Doan, RW, ARI
4:18 AM
News: Shane Doan scored his seventh goal of the season, had an assist, and picked up four PIM in Saturday's win over San Jose.
Analysis: Shane Doan now has a respectable 14 points in 21 games this season, to go with a minus-5 rating. The 38-year-old is on track for another season in the 25-goal and 50-point range.

Viktor Fasth
Oilers' Fasth Makes 15 Saves In Relief Duty
Viktor Fasth, G, EDM
4:10 AM
News: Viktor Fasth stopped 15 of 17 shots in relief duty Saturday against the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Starter Ben Scrivens was pulled after giving up five goals on 13 shots, so Viktor Fasth was thrown in to try and fend off the dominant Blackhawks. While it was Scrivens who was credited with the loss, Fasth is still winless in his last two starts and has posted a lackluster .890 save percentage and 3.337 GAA on the season. It's best just to stay away from Fasth right now, as the Oilers have lost seven straight and Fasth has done nothing to show he should start ahead of Scrivens.

Ben Scrivens
Oilers' Scrivens Pulled In Blowout Loss
Ben Scrivens, G, EDM
4:03 AM
News: Ben Scrivens was pulled Saturday against the Blackhawks after giving up five goals on 13 shots.
Analysis: Because the Oilers only mustered one goal on the night, Ben Scrivens was credited with the loss -- his seventh straight. Scrivens is now 4-9-1 on the season with a disastrous .887 save percentage and 3.35 GAA. Unless the Oilers start to turn things around, it's best just to stay away from Scrivens for now.

Corey Crawford
Hawks' Crawford Makes 24 Saves In Win
Corey Crawford, G, CHI
3:54 AM
News: Corey Crawford stopped all but one of the 25 shots he faced in Saturday's blowout victory over Edmonton.
Analysis: Corey Crawford wasn't expected to start Saturday, but was called upon after news surfaced that expected starter Antti Raanta was ill. Crawford has now won three straight games, advancing to 9-4-1 on the season. He has simply been one of the best fantasy options in net thus far, recording a .928 save percentage and 1.90 GAA. If Raanta isn't good to go Sunday, Crawford will make the start against the resurgent Canucks.

Kris Versteeg
Hawks' Versteeg Thriving In Second-Line Role
Kris Versteeg, RW, CHI
3:48 AM
News: Kris Versteeg scored his sixth goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Kris Versteeg continues to produce on the second line with Patrick Kane, recording two goals and five points in his last three games. With Patrick Sharp (leg) sidelined, Versteeg is seeing plenty of quality ice time time at even strength and on the power play. With 13 points and a plus-7 rating in 16 games on the season, Versteeg is definitely worth a look right now.

Marian Hossa
Four Points For Hossa In 'Hawks Blowout Win
Marian Hossa, RW, CHI
3:32 AM
News: Marian Hossa scored his third goal of the season and added three assists in Saturday's blowout win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Marian Hossa has been hot lately, picking up 10 points (one goal) in his last seven games. Although his goal total is below what's expected, the veteran is still on pace for 60 points and is thriving on the top line with Jonathan Toews.

Brandon Saad
Hawks' Saad Meshes With Toews In Win
Brandon Saad, LW, CHI
3:28 AM
News: Brandon Saad picked up two assists and was a plus-3 in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: The top line of Brandon Saad, Jonathan Toews, and Marian Hossa was electric Saturday, combining for eight points in the win. After going through a brief rough patch, Saad has been consistently producing of late, recording two goals and eight points in his last 10 games. While his three goals on the season are somewhat disappointing, Saad is still on pace for almost 60 points and will start scoring more if he continues playing with Toews. A career year is in store for the rising 22-year-old.

Patrick Kane
Hawks' Kane Is Red-Hot
Patrick Kane, RW, CHI
3:18 AM
News: Patrick Kane scored for the fourth straight game and added an assist in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: Patrick Kane has been dynamite lately, netting four goals and eight points in his last four games. He is producing at almost a point-per-game pace this season and could reach 30 goals for the second time in his career. He's a must-start every night.

Jonathan Toews
Hawks' Toews Lights Lamp Twice Vs. Oilers
Jonathan Toews, C, CHI
3:15 AM
News: Jonathan Toews scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season and was a plus-3 in Saturday's blowout win over Edmonton.
Analysis: Jonathan Toews has delivered lately, recording three goals and four points in his last three games. He has been super consistent all season long, notching 18 points in 20 games, to go with a plus-5 rating. You know what to do.
