Player News
Petr Mrazek
Wings' Mrazek Yanked Thursday
Petr Mrazek, G, DET
8:35 AM
News: Petr Mrazek allowed five goals on 15 shots and was pulled at the second intermission Thursday against Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Tom McCollum then proceeded to make him look even worse by stopping all 17 shots he faced in the third period. Petr Mrazek's on shaky ground now, having struggled mightily in four straight starts. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Wings go with McCollum in their next game, Saturday against the Isles.

Michael Ryder
Devils Make Ryder A Healthy Scratch
Michael Ryder, RW, NJ
8:34 AM
News: Michael Ryder will be a healthy scratch for the second straight game Friday versus the Penguins, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: The returns of Tuomu Ruutu and Jaromir Jagr from illnesses have forced the Devils to drop a forward from their lineup since the All-Star break, and Michael Ryder has been the casualty on both occasions. The Devils like the tenacity Jordin Tootoo brings to the fourth line on a nightly basis, so it wouldn't be surprising if Ryder remains a press-box regular until an injury opens up another opportunity for the winger.

Robin Lehner
Ottawa's Lehner Takes Loss Thursday
Robin Lehner, G, OTT
8:33 AM
News: Robin Lehner made 35 saves on 39 shots in a loss to Dallas on Thursday.
Analysis: Sure, he gave up four goals, but after he struggled through the first period, Robin Lehner settled down and played very well the rest of the way. The final 6-3 score didn't show how close this game actually was, and Lehner's final stat line doesn't show the 26 saves on 27 shots he made in the second and third periods.

Kari Lehtonen
Stars' Lehtonen Gives Up Three In Win
Kari Lehtonen, G, DAL
8:31 AM
News: Kari Lehtonen allowed three goals on 28 shots in Thursday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: Another unimpressive start for the Finnish netminder, who's now given up three or more goals in five straight starts and eight of his last nine. There have been short periods in which Kari Lehtonen looked like he was turning things around, but he remains one of the weaker points this year on an otherwise solid Dallas team.

Luke Gazdic
Oilers' Gazdic Busy On Thursday
Luke Gazdic, LW, EDM
8:27 AM
News: Luke Gazdic added an assist, five penalty minutes and four hits in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Luke Gazdic was all over the place in 7:35 TOI. He also found time to tussle with Buffalo's Nicolas Deslauriers, leading to a five-minute major. The edgy Gazdic will pick up his share of hits and time in the Sin Bin but he can largely be ignored in fantasy circles.

Ty Rattie
Blues' Rattie Recalled From AHL
Ty Rattie, RW, STL
8:26 AM
News: Ty Rattie was recalled by the Blues on Friday, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The 32nd overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Ty Rattie ranks fifth in the AHL with 17 goals this season. He made two NHL appearances last season, and while he's unlikely to make much of a short-term impact with the loaded Blues, Rattie is worth keeping an eye on for the future.

John Tavares
Isles' Tavares Delivers Strong Effort In Loss
John Tavares, C, NYI
8:26 AM
News: John Tavares scored a goal on a season-high nine shots and added an assist Thursday in a loss to Boston.
Analysis: Unfortunately, aside from the two second-period goals their star factored into, the Isles couldn't muster much on offense, and their defensive effort was not strong. Nonetheless, John Tavares remains red-hot, with a five-game point streak in which he's got four goals and five assists.

David Krejci
Two Helpers For Bruins' Krejci
David Krejci, C, BOS
8:23 AM
News: David Krejci chipped in a pair of assists in Thursday's win over the Isles.
Analysis: It's not the most impressive two-point game you'll see, with a secondary assist and an empty-net helper, but hey, points are points. And David Krejci has nine of those in his last nine games.

Reilly Smith
Three-Point Breakout For Bruins' Smith
Reilly Smith, RW, BOS
8:19 AM
News: Reilly Smith scored the game's opening goal and had two assists -- one on the power play -- in Thursday's win over the Isles.
Analysis: The third-year man is starting to come along now, as he's got points in three straight games. It's been a slow season for Reilly Smith, but fantasy owners are willing to forgive and forget if he can deliver a strong finish.

Milan Lucic
Bruins' Lucic Registers Three Points
Milan Lucic, LW, BOS
8:17 AM
News: Milan Lucic tallied a pair of assists, an empty-net goal, five hits and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's win over the Isles.
Analysis: Things have been very inconsistent for Milan Lucic lately -- earlier this month, he tallied six points in four games, creating hope of a resurgence, but he proceeded to go scoreless in three straight, only to bounce back with four points in his last two. So the total numbers recently have been quite solid, but they've come in fits and starts. The Bruins would surely like to get some more offensive consistency out of the tough winger.
