Player News
Jakob Silfverberg
Silfverberg Leads Ducks To Win Over Coyotes
Jakob Silfverberg, RW, ANA
12:08 PM
News: Jakob Silfverberg collected a goal, two assists and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: The points give him 30 on the year (10 goals, 20 assists), already well above his previous best of 23 from last season. The Ducks forward core is a fairly crowded bunch at the moment, so the 24-year-old will probably continue to have a hard time consistently hitting the scoresheet. However, he has fired 144 shots on goal this season, making him an intriguing option in leagues that count that stat.

Michael Hutchinson
Jets Roll With Hutchinson
Michael Hutchinson, G, WPG
9:03 AM
News: Michael Hutchinson appears to be on track to start Wednesday's game against the Senators, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Assuming the assignment is confirmed, the start would be the fifth consecutive turn for Michael Hutchinson, who backstopped the Jets to a 5-2 win over the Kings on Sunday.

Trevor Daley
Stars' Daley Expected To Miss Time
Trevor Daley, D, DAL
8:58 AM
News: Trevor Daley, who absorbed a knee-on-knee hit Tuesday against the Islanders, could be out for "weeks," according to coach Lindy Ruff, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: We'll look for a more precise timetable for Trevor Daley in the coming days, but at the very least, it seems safe to assume that the blueliner -- who has 33 points in 61 games to date -- won't play Thursday against the Panthers.

Eric Fehr
Fehr Collects Goal In Caps Win Over Columbus
Eric Fehr, RW, WAS
8:54 AM
News: Eric Fehr finished Tuesday night's 5-3 win over Columbus with a goal and three shots.
Analysis: This gives Eric Fehr points in back to back games to give him two goals and three assists in his last six games. Though still a fixture on the team's third line, Fehr has enough offensive upside to warrant consideration in deeper leagues as he looks to have his best campaign since 2009-2010 when he had 21 goals and 39 points in 69 contests.

Tom Wilson
Wilson Nets Goal, Penalty Minutes In Caps Win
Tom Wilson, RW, WAS
8:50 AM
News: Tom Wilson netted a goal and 17 penalty minutes in Washington's 5-3 win over Columbus on Tuesday.
Analysis: Aside from his second goal in the last five games, Tom Wilson was again at the center of attention when it comes to physical play, as he fought Blue Jackets heavyweight Jared Boll following a heavy hit that knocked teammate Michael Latta from the game. While Wilson may get more looks at the revolving door of right wing alongside Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, the situation is too fluid an unpredictable to start Wilson on every night, unless you are in a league that counts hits and penalty minutes. The situation continues to bear monitoring.

Cam Talbot
Rangers Roll With Talbot
Cam Talbot, G, NYR
8:46 AM
News: Cam Talbot is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Red Wings, the Rangers' official site reports.
Analysis: Cam Talbot, who is in line to start in net for the Rangers for the 14th time in 15 games since Henrik Lundqvist was sidelined, is coming off a strong effort Monday in which he stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 4-1 triumph over the Predators.

Henrik Zetterberg
Wings' Zetterberg Poised To Return
Henrik Zetterberg, LW, DET
8:40 AM
News: Henrik Zetterberg (upper body) is slated to undergo some final tests Wednesday afternoon in order to gain clearance for the Wings' evening contest against the Rangers, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports.
Analysis: While it sounds like Henrik Zetterberg is likely to be a go on Wednesday, pending the results of his tests, MLive.com's Ansar Khan relays that Daniel Cleary would be in to play Wednesday night if Zetterberg isn't cleared to do so.

Emile Poirier
Flames' Poirier Records First NHL Point
Emile Poirier, LW, CGY
8:39 AM
News: Emile Poirier collected an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers.
Analysis: This counts as Emile Poirier's first NHL point. The speedy winger is a highly-touted prospect called up from the Flames on Feb. 23, so it would be wise to closely monitor his progress in the infancy of his career. Prior to his ascension to the majors, Poirier had 14 goals and 16 assists in 42 games with the Baby Flames.

Sam Brittain
Panthers Recall Brittain To Replenish Goalie Depth
Sam Brittain, G, FLA
8:25 AM
News: Sam Brittain was recalled from ECHL Cincinnati on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: The Panthers experienced the ultimate doomsday scenario Tuesday against the Maple Leafs, as both Roberto Luongo (neck/shoulder) and Al Montoya (groin) were both forced to leave the game with injuries. For a moment, it appeared as though 41-year-old goalie coach Robb Tallas would have to enter the crease as an emergency option, but Luongo was permitted to reenter the game to finish out the third period. Even so, it's clear that neither Luongo and Montoya are completely healthy, prompting the team to recall Sam Brittain and AHL goalie Dan Ellis in advance of Thursday's game against the Stars. It's unclear at this juncture if either goalie will be needed to dress for the game, but Ellis would likely play ahead of Brittain if both Luongo and Montoya are ruled out. Brittain, 22, has never made an appearance at the NHL level and hasn't impressed with Cincinnati this season, posting a 2.71 GAA and .895 save percentage over 27 games.

Dan Ellis
Panthers Recall Ellis Amid Goalie Chaos
Dan Ellis, G, FLA
8:16 AM
News: Dan Ellis was recalled from AHL San Antonio on Wednesday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: With both Roberto Luongo (neck/shoulder) and Al Montoya (groin) forced to exit Tuesday's loss against the Maple Leafs at various points in the contest, both goalies are being listed as day-to-day in advance of Thursday's game against the Stars. The uncertain health of the netminders prompted the recalls of Dan Ellis and Sam Brittain on Wednesday, though it's unclear if either or both will be forced to dress Thursday. By virtue of his greater NHL experience, Ellis ranks third on the Panthers' organizational depth chart, so he would get the start Thursday ahead of Brittain in the event Luongo and Montoya are ruled out.
