Player News
Steve Mason
Flyers' Mason Confirmed To Start In Game 4
Steve Mason, G, PHI
9:13 AM
News: Coach Craig Berube confirmed Steve Mason would start Friday's Game 4 against the Rangers, Sarah Baicker of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: After Steve Mason was able to back up Ray Emery and ultimately enter the game in the third period Tuesday without any further complications with his upper-body injury, he'll man the net as the Flyers aim to even the series. Assuming Mason doesn't completely flounder in his return to starting duty, expect him to serve as the Flyers' primary goaltender through the remainder of their playoff run.

James Neal
Pens' Neal Gets First Point Of Playoffs
James Neal, LW, PIT
8:52 AM
News: James Neal tallied a goal in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: James Neal's first point of the postseason propelled the Penguins to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but it ultimately wouldn't hold up, as the Blue Jackets rallied for the tying goal in the third period before scoring the winner in overtime. Although his point production hasn't been great so far in the postseason, he's at least been active offensively, with 20 shot attempts over the four games.

Fedor Tyutin
Blue Jackets' Tyutin Expected Back During Series
Fedor Tyutin, D, CLB
8:38 AM
News: Coach Todd Richards said he expects Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) to play at some point in the series with the Penguins, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: The Blue Jackets are guaranteed at least two more games following Wednesday's come-from-behind win that tied the series at two games apiece. It remains unclear if Fedor Tyutin, who has missed the last two games, will be able to suit up for Saturday's Game 5, but his status should be determined following that day's morning skate.

Ryan Murray
Columbus' Murray Has Foot Ailment
Ryan Murray, D, CLB
8:35 AM
News: Ryan Murray was scratched from Wednesday's Game 4 match with the Penguins due to a foot injury he sustained at morning skate, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Ryan Murray was spotted wearing a walking boot during the game after taking a puck to the foot in morning skate. Although Nick Schultz took Murray's spot in the lineup Wednesday, coach Todd Richards said that he expects Murray to play again in the series, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Daniel Alfredsson
Red Wings' Alfredsson Out For Game 4
Daniel Alfredsson, RW, DET
8:28 AM
News: Daniel Alfredsson (back) will not play in Thursday's Game 4 against the Bruins, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: Daniel Alfredsson was quickly ruled out after he was unable to participate at morning skate, but coach Mike Babcock did say after the session that the veteran forward "should be ready by Saturday." It looks like the Red Wings will get Henrik Zetterberg back in the lineup following a two-month absence due to a back issue, lessening the impact of Alfredsson's unavailability.

Boone Jenner
Jackets' Jenner Scores On The Power Play Wednesday
Boone Jenner, C, CLB
8:06 AM
News: Boone Jenner scored a power play goal in Wednesday's 4-3 OT win over the Penguins.
Analysis: The rookie clicked with Ryan Johansen late in the regular season and the two youngsters have continued to produce in the playoffs, as Boone Jenner now has two goals and two assists through four games.

Henrik Zetterberg
Red Wings' Zetterberg A Game-Time Decision
Henrik Zetterberg, LW, DET
8:02 AM
News: Henrik Zetterberg (back) has been activated from injured reserve, but is officially listed as a game-time decision for Thursday's Game 4 against the Bruins, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: All indications are that Henrik Zetterberg will return to the lineup after he was a full participant in morning skate, during which he took part in rushes with the top line. He'll visit a doctor for further evaluation on his back injury, but it may just be a formality in order to get the final go-ahead to suit up Thursday.

James Wisniewski
Jackets' Wisniewski Dishes Two Assists
James Wisniewski, D, CLB
8:00 AM
News: James Wisniewski recorded two assists, including setting up Nick Foligno for the overtime winner, as the Blue Jackets evened their first round series against the Penguins with a 4-3 victory Wednesday.
Analysis: Those were his first points of the series, as unlike Jack Johnson he's had trouble getting anything going offensively. Coming off a career-best 51 point season, the Jackets could certainly use more production from James Wisniewski if they want to pull off the upset.

Jonathan Toews
Hawks' Toews Registers Pair Of Assists Game 4
Jonathan Toews, C, CHI
7:44 AM
News: Jonathan Toews helped out in the Blackhawks' first two goals on Wednesday in the team's 4-3 victory over the Blues in overtime in Game 4 of the opening series of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Analysis: Jonathan Toews only has a goal in the first four games, but he has four assists including the pair on Wednesday night. You will continue to see him get on the score sheet especially after Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville put him on the same line with Patrick Kane starting with Game 3 of the series.

Andrew Shaw
Chicago's Shaw Gets First Point Of Playoffs
Andrew Shaw, C, CHI
7:17 AM
News: Andrew Shaw potted his first goal of the playoffs in Wednesday's Game 4 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Andrew Shaw's marker was somewhat fluky in nature, as Jonathan Toews' slapshot bounced off Shaw's skate, with the forward collecting the puck and back-handing it into the net. The return of the previously-injured Toews and Patrick Kane for the postseason has pushed Shaw out of his top-line role, which could limit his offensive opportunities compared to the tail end of the regular season.
