News: Gabriel Landeskog was held pointless Saturday, but he picked up 10 PIM in a loss to the Wild. Analysis: Gabriel Landeskog, who has recorded six goals in his last nine games, also fired three shots on goal in Saturday's loss. Landeskog is impressing right now and considering the top-line forward has racked up 65 PIM on the season, he makes for a good all-around fantasy option.
News: Cody McLeod was dinged for 17 PIM in Saturday's loss to the Wild. Analysis: A spirited outing from Cody McLeod, who now has a whopping 167 PIM this season -- second-most in the NHL. While he's only produced nine points in 63 games, the 30-year-old piles up the PIM, making him worth owning in deep specialty leagues.
News: Justin Fontaine scored the game-winning goal Saturday against Colorado. Analysis: Justin Fontaine has been productive of late, compiling three goals and nine points in his last eight games. He's now got eight goals, 22 points and a plus-11 rating in 52 games on the season. He can be trusted in some very deep leagues, but considering he averages just 11:32 of ice time, the bottom-six forward doesn't hold much fantasy value.
News: Erik Haula recorded his second straight multi-point game Saturday, scoring his seventh goal of the season and picking up an assist in a win over Colorado. Analysis: While he's been hot these past two game, Erik Haula had recorded just one point in his previous 15 games. Considering he skates on the fourth line and has just 12 points in 55 games on the season, the 23-year-old currently only has fantasy value in the deepest of leagues.
News: Semyon Varlamov gave up three goals on 32 shots in Saturday's loss to the Wild. Analysis: Semyon Varlamov has now given up at least three goals in each of his last four games. The 26-year-old owns a 19-17-7 record on the season with a .917 save percentage and 2.69 GAA. He may be struggling a little right now, but he's played in a whopping 43 games and is the go-to-guy in Colorado. He'll rebound soon.
News: Devan Dubnyk was outstanding once again Saturday, stopping 33 of 34 shots in a win over Colorado. Analysis: Devan Dubnyk has won five of his last six games, allowing two goals or less in each of those contests. He's also suffered just two regulation losses in his last 16 games played. Simply remarkable. He's an automatic roll every game.
News: Jussi Jokinen dished out three helpers in Saturday's come-from-behind win over the Sabres. Analysis: The Juice was all over the place in this one, bringing his assist total to 28 on the year. His six goals are way off the 21 he put up last season with Pittsburgh -- which is somewhat expected considering he was surrounded by studs like Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and James Neal there -- but Jussi Jokinen is just 10 assists shy of his career-best 38 from his rookie season in Dallas, so there's value to be had here. The Panthers are going to need all hands on deck if they hope to catch -- and fend off -- the Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot in the East, so look for Jokinen to play set-up man for leading goal scorer Nick Bjugstad, 17-goal linemate Jimmy Hayes, and maybe even the newly-acquired Jaromir Jagr, who knows a thing or two about scoring with 716 career goals to his credit.
News: Brandon Pirri tickled the twine twice Saturday in his first game back from an upper-body injury as Florida bested the Sabres 5-3. He also blasted a career-high nine shots on goal. Analysis: Brandon Pirri unloaded a pair of power-play snipes within 1:23 seconds of each other in the second period, single-handedly clawing the Panthers back into the game after Roberto Luongo allowed two goals in the first period. A couple interesting things to note here: firstly, 11 of his 13 points are goals, which leaves the sophomore two shy of the 13 he set last year, and secondly, the Panthers managed to win just two out of nine games in his absence. Pirri's definitely been productive in the goal department, so look for him to continue to get ample looks from coach Gerard Gallant and he's obviously an important cog in their lineup.
News: Reilly Smith contributed two assists -- one on the power play -- in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes. Analysis: Reilly Smith has appeared on the score sheet in six of the Bruins' last seven games. During that stretch, he's compiled two goals and six assists while producing a plus-6 rating. Keep him active while Smith enjoys his hottest scoring run of the season.
News: Patrice Bergeron generated a goal and assist and attempted six shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes. Analysis: Patrice Bergeron finishes February with six goals and five assists, tying his highest point total for any other month of the season. The two-way center hasn't noticed much of a drop in scoring from a season earlier, but a sizable fallback in his plus/minus rating (plus-38 in 2013-14, plus-4 in 2014-15) has resulted in a slight decline in his overall fantasy value.
