Player News
John Moore
Rangers' Moore A Healthy Scratch
John Moore, D, NYR
8:38 AM
News: John Moore will be a healthy scratch for Friday's game against the Flyers.
Analysis: The return of Ryan McDonagh from IR will force the Rangers to drop one of their defensemen from his regular role, and it will be John Moore who draws the short end of the stick. Coach Alain Vigneault said third-pairing blueliner Matt Hunwick has been more dependable with the puck than Moore has of late, which was likely the primary factor in the lineup decision.

Ryan McDonagh
Rangers Activate McDonagh
Ryan McDonagh, D, NYR
8:36 AM
News: Coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Ryan McDonagh (shoulder) will play Friday against the Flyers.
Analysis: Ryan McDonagh missed nearly four weeks with the shoulder injury. He'll reunite with Dan Girardi on the Rangers' top pairing, giving the defense an added scoring punch. The Rangers went 4-4-3 over the 11 games the captain missed.

Brooks Laich
Caps Activate Laich
Brooks Laich, C, WAS
8:24 AM
News: Brooks Laich (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve Friday, NHL.com's Adam Vingan reports.
Analysis: Brooks Laich has been battling the shoulder injury since mid-October, returning for one game in November before suffering a setback. It appears he's now finally past the injury, but the forward's checkered health history always make him liable to miss time again. He'll presumably be good to go for Friday's game against the Islanders, though it's not immediately clear where he'll fit in.

Tyler Myers
Sabres' Myers To Return Friday
Tyler Myers, D, BUF
8:13 AM
News: Tyler Myers (undisclosed) was a full participant in morning skate and looks set to play Friday against the Canadiens, Bill Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Tyler Myers slotted in on the Sabres' power-play unit and paired up with Tyson Strachan on defense, demonstrating that he's ready to play. He was forced out of one game due to the undisclosed issue.

Michal Neuvirth
Sabres' Neuvirth Backing Up Friday
Michal Neuvirth, G, BUF
8:07 AM
News: Michal Neuvirth (lower body) will back up Jhonas Enroth in Friday's game against the Canadiens, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Analysis: Michal Neuvirth has bee practicing with the team since Monday and appears to be fully healthy at this point, but the Sabres seem inclined to ease him back into action. Expect Neuvirth to return to the net Saturday, when the Sabres travel to Montreal for the back end of a home-and-home set.

Jhonas Enroth
Sabres' Enroth Confirmed To Start Friday
Jhonas Enroth, G, BUF
8:02 AM
News: Jhonas Enroth was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate and will start Friday versus the Canadiens.
Analysis: Though it appears Michal Neuvirth (lower body) is healthy enough to serve as the backup Friday, Jhonas Enroth will earn his third straight start on the basis of his strong play of late. Enroth's overall numbers remain poor and don't figure to notice much improvement behind a defense that leads the league in shots allowed, but if he can consistently keep the team in games, he might be able to hold off Neuvirth for No. 1 goalie duties.

Tobias Enstrom
Jets' Enstrom Likely To Sit Friday
Tobias Enstrom, D, WPG
7:54 AM
News: Tobias Enstrom (lower body) looks doubtful to play Friday against the Bruins, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Tobias Enstrom wasn't on the ice for the Jets' morning skate, indicating the lower-body injury is still proving troublesome. He'll be forced to miss his third straight game and it will be difficult to predict when he may return until he resumes skating.

Mathieu Perreault
Jets' Perreault Draws Back In
Mathieu Perreault, C, WPG
7:52 AM
News: Mathieu Perreault (upper body) appears set to play Friday against the Bruins, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Mathieu Perreault was a full participant in Thursday's practice and took part in line rushes at Friday's morning skate, so it appears safe to say that he'll draw back in for the Jets. The forward is seeing about two minutes more of ice time than he enjoyed with the Ducks last season, but a decline in quality of linemates has resulted in a significant drop in his per-game point production.

Michael Hutchinson
Jets Turn To Hutchinson On Friday
Michael Hutchinson, G, WPG
7:41 AM
News: Michael Hutchinson will be in the crease Friday against the Bruins, Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Sun reports.
Analysis: Michael Hutchinson made it difficult for coach Paul Maurice to turn away from using him based on how brilliantly he's performed of late. The 24-year-old has won each of his four starts in November and owns an incredible 1.07 GAA and .961 save percentage for the month. If he turns in another stellar outing against the Bruins -- the organization that drafted him back in 2008 -- it might not be long before he permanently unseats Ondrej Pavelec for the No. 1 job.

Brandon Kozun
Leafs Send Kozun Out For Conditioning Work
Brandon Kozun, RW, TOR
7:30 AM
News: Brandon Kozun (ankle) was sent to AHL Toronto on Friday for a conditioning assignment, Mark Masters of TSN.ca reports.
Analysis: The assignment will more than likely just last through the weekend as Brandon Kozun aims to demonstrate that he's fully recovered from the high-ankle sprain he sustained in October. The 24-year-old figures to fill a bottom-six role for the Leafs upon his activation.
