Victor Bartley
Rare Start For Preds' Bartley
Victor Bartley, D, NSH
7:18 AM
News: Playing in just his sixth game of the season, Victor Bartley contributed a pair of assists during Saturday's 6-5 OT win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Subbing in for the injured Anton Volchenkov (lower body), Victor Bartley saw just 12:11 worth of ice time, but made the most of his limited minutes. He remains a very risky fantasy play, given that he's frequently a healthy scratch and plays on the third defensive pairing when he does suit up.

Mattias Ekholm
Ekholm's OT Winner Puts Preds Past Wild
Mattias Ekholm, D, NSH
7:12 AM
News: Mattias Ekholm scored the OT winner - his seventh point of the season - during Saturday's 6-5 win over Minnesota.
Analysis: With Anton Volchenkov out with a lower-body injury, Mattias Ekholm has been seeing more ice time lately, averaging roughly 20 minutes per game in his past four contests, compared to his season average of about 18 minutes. That said, he still doesn't score enough to warrant much fantasy consideration outside of very deep leagues.

Antti Niemi
All Sharks' Niemi Does Is Win
Antti Niemi, G, SJ
7:05 AM
News: Antti Niemi picked up his seventh straight win Saturday, stopping 18 of 20 shots in an overtime win over the Blues.
Analysis: All this guy does is win. Antti Niemi is 14-7-3 on the season with a .917 save percentage and 2.42 GAA. The 32-year-old has allowed only seven goals in his last four outings and is a prime reason why the Sharks now sit fifth in the Western Conference. Now that he's caught fire, Niemi is a must-start every game.

Jonas Hiller
Hiller Helps Flames Nab A Point Saturday
Jonas Hiller, G, CGY
6:57 AM
News: Jonas Hiller helped Calgary grab a point Saturday, stopping 30 of 32 shots in an overtime loss to Vancouver.
Analysis: While Jonas Hiller has now lost seven straight games, the 32-year-old has allowed only two goals in each of his past four outings. Considering Karri Ramo is struggling, losing three straight games and surrendering 11 goals in that span, Hiller could see some more starts in the near-future. The former Duck is 9-10-2 on the season with a .915 save percentage and 2.38 GAA. The Flames may be struggling to get wins, but Hiller's strong play Saturday suggests that might turn around soon.

Craig Smith
Preds' Smith Snaps Scoring Drought
Craig Smith, C, NSH
6:51 AM
News: Craig Smith cracked the scoresheet for the first time in six games Saturday, notching a goal and an assist in the Preds' 6-5 OT win over the Wild. He also fired seven shots on goal and saw 18:44 in ice time.
Analysis: With James Neal out with an undisclosed illness, Craig Smith was promoted to the top line alongside Mike Ribeiro and Filip Forsberg, and the move paid instant dividends for coach Peter Laviolette. Enjoy the scoring surge while it lasts, however once Neal is ready to return, Smith will no doubt be shifted back to his usual second-line status. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain his productivity once that happens.

Ryan Miller
Canucks' Miller Gets Back On Track Saturday
Ryan Miller, G, VAN
6:48 AM
News: Ryan Miller snapped a three-game losing skid Saturday, stopping 26 of 28 shots in an overtime win over Calgary.
Analysis: While Ryan Miller is now an impressive 17-7-0 on the season, the veteran has seen his save percentage drop to .901 and his GAA rise to 2.65. Although his rate starts are disappointing, Miller continues to prove he can win games with ease. He 's an automatic roll every night he gets the call in the Canucks' crease.

Sven Andrighetto
Montreal's Andrighetto Activated
Sven Andrighetto, RW, MON
6:46 AM
News: Sven Andrighetto, who was called up from the AHL on Friday, was in the active lineup for Saturday night's 4-1 win over the Senators. He skated on the fourth line, registering one shot on net and a minus-1 in 7:59 of ice time.
Analysis: Sven Andrighetto gives the fourth line an offensive element. But if he's going to have any fantasy value, it will have to come on the power play, on which he received 2:14 time on ice Saturday.

Niklas Backstrom
Wild's Backstrom Sees Relief Duty Saturday
Niklas Backstrom, G, MIN
6:39 AM
News: Niklas Backstrom stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced in relief of Darcy Kuemper in Saturday's overtime loss to the Predators.
Analysis: Not a bad outing for Niklas Backstrom, who is now 5-3-3 on the season with a .901 save percentage and 2.58 GAA. Considering the recent struggles of Kuemper, it's possible Backstrom could see some more starts in the near-future. The 36-year-old makes for a decent fantasy option whenever he gets the call in the crease.

Lars Eller
Habs' Eller Returns To Action
Lars Eller, C, MON
6:38 AM
News: Lars Eller returned to the lineup Saturday after missing five games due to an upper-body injury. He skated 14:38 in a 4-1 win over the Senators.
Analysis: Lars Eller returned to his spot as the center of the third line, only with new linemates: David Desharnais on left wing and P.A. Parenteau on right wing.

Brandon Prust
Habs' Prust Scores In Win
Brandon Prust, RW, MON
6:35 AM
News: Brandon Prust scored a goal in Saturday night's 4-1 win over the Senators. He was elevated to the second line for the game and had 17:36 of ice time.
Analysis: Brandon Prust, normally a fourth-liner, has been skating on the third and second lines lately. And he's taking advantage of his ice time with more skilled forwards. He has points in three of the last four games.
