Player News
Braydon Coburn
Flyers' Coburn Ready To Go Thursday
Braydon Coburn, D, PHI
9:34 AM
News: Braydon Coburn (general soreness) will play Thursday against the Panthers, Bill Meltzer of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Braydon Coburn was in some pain after he was hit into the boards during Tuesday's loss to Tampa Bay, but was able to recover sufficiently in advance of Thursday's morning skate. Coach Craig Berube will stick with the same six defensemen Thursday that he used two nights earlier.

Roberto Luongo
Panthers' Luongo To Take Net Thursday
Roberto Luongo, G, FLA
9:31 AM
News: Roberto Luongo will man the net Thursday for the Panthers on the road in Philadelphia, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Coach Gerard Gallant will stick with the same lineup that came out on top in a 20-round shootout Tuesday against the Capitals, with no player being more instrumental in that victory than Roberto Luongo. The 35-year-old has won both of his last two outings while posting save percentages above .930, bring his record to 11-6-6 on the campaign. He should be a decent play against a Flyers attack that ranks in the middle of the pack league-wide in goals per game.

Brett Sutter
Wild Assign Sutter To AHL Iowa
Brett Sutter, C, MIN
9:17 AM
News: The Wild assigned Brett Sutter to AHL Iowa on Thursday, Michael Russ of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brett Sutter appeared in two games with the Wild after being recalled earlier this week, but he will head back to Iowa with Matt Cooke (hip) and/or Ryan Carter (shoulder) set to return for Minnesota's next game Saturday.

Zdeno Chara
Bruins' Chara Notches Assist
Zdeno Chara, D, BOS
9:16 AM
News: Zdeno Chara recorded an assist in 24:13 worth of ice time in Wednesday's win over Minnesota.
Analysis: Zdeno Chara, who has two helpers in four games since returning from a knee injury, continues to shake off the rust, but as long as he can avoid further injury setbacks, the big blueliner is destined to continue to log heavy minutes for the Bruins in all situations.

John Curry
Wild Return Curry To AHL Iowa
John Curry, G, MIN
9:16 AM
News: The Wild assigned John Curry to AHL Iowa on Thursday, Michael Russ of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: John Curry was called up just a day earlier with both Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom under the weather, but his assignment is a sign that both of the Wild's regular goaltenders will be good to go moving forward.

Viktor Stalberg
Predators Place Stalberg On Waivers
Viktor Stalberg, LW, NSH
9:09 AM
News: The Predators activated Viktor Stalberg (knee) from injured reserve Thursday and placed him on waivers.
Analysis: Viktor Stalberg is set to resume playing after recovering from a knee injury, but the Predators don't have a roster spot for him at this time, so they are hoping to pass him through waivers and assign him to AHL Milwaukee in order to get in some game action.

David Krejci
Krejci Returns To Bruins' Lineup
David Krejci, C, BOS
9:08 AM
News: David Krejci (groin) saw 18:22 worth of ice time in his return to action in Wednesday's win over Minnesota.
Analysis: David Krejci, who had last suited up Nov. 18, worked on a line with Milan Lucic and Seth Griffith on Wednesday. Assuming the playmaking center is able to avoid aggravating the injury that caused him to miss the B's previous 11 games, respectable production on offense should be on tap for Krejci, who led the team in scoring last season with 69 points in 80 games.

Curtis Lazar
Senators' Lazar Will Play In Junior Championships
Curtis Lazar, RW, OTT
9:00 AM
News: The Senators have agreed to loan Curtis Lazar to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship.
Analysis: The tournament runs from Dec. 26 through Jan. 5, so Curtis Lazar figures to leave the team sometime in the next few days and return to Ottawa either after the tournament concludes, or Team Canada is eliminated.

Christian Folin
Wild's Folin A Healthy Scratch
Christian Folin, D, MIN
8:43 AM
News: Christian Folin was a healthy scratch in Thursday's loss to Boston.
Analysis: Despite three points in his last five games, Christian Folin may not see consistent ice time when several defeseman out will illnesses return as he still need to work on his defense.

Stu Bickel
Wild's Bickel A Healthy Scratch
Stu Bickel, D, MIN
8:39 AM
News: Stu Bickel was a healthy scratch in Wednesday's loss to Boston.
Analysis: Stu Bickel has been relegated to the bench even while several Wild defensemen were sick. He may be sent to the AHL when the sick players return.
