Player News
Kyle Okposo
Isles' Okposo Out 6-8 Weeks
Kyle Okposo, RW, NYI
1/27/2015
News: Kyle Okposo will miss 6-8 weeks with an upper-body injury.
Analysis: Coach Jack Capuano delivered the news Monday, and Kyle Okposo's loss represents a major hit to the Isles' offense. The winger has recorded 14 goals and 44 points through 46 games to date, while working on the team's top line.

Nikita Jevpalovs
Sharks Sign Free Agent Jevpalovs
Nikita Jevpalovs, RW, PHI
1/27/2015
News: The Sharks signed Nikita Jevpalovs to an entry-level deal on Monday.
Analysis: Nikita Jevpalovs is having a great year in junior, playing for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in the QMJHL. He has 38 goals and 71 points in 45 games for the Armada.

Nikita Zadorov
Zadorov Suspended By Sabres
Nikita Zadorov, D, BUF
1/27/2015
News: The Sabres have suspended Nikita Zadorov for failing to report to the team on time following the NHL All-Star break, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Nikita Zadorov, who has eight points in 34 games to date, shouldn't be out of commission too long, though. GM Tim Murray indicated that he expects the blueliner (who missed Monday's practice) to rejoin the team "at some point during this week's western road trip."

Steve Mason
Flyers' Mason Still Sidelined
Steve Mason, G, PHI
11:59 AM
News: Steve Mason (lower body) did not practice Monday, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: That said, the report notes that GM Ron Hextall expects Steve Mason to play at some point this week, which puts the goalie in the day-to-day category following the NHL All-Star break.

Chris Stewart
Sabres' Stewart Remains Bruins Trade Target
Chris Stewart, RW, BUF
11:58 AM
News: The Bruins may still be looking to trade for Chris Stewart, reports The Boston Globe.
Analysis: With 15 points in 45 games, Chris Stewart isn't having a good season for the Sabres and on most nights doesn't seem too interested in the game. It's not entirely his fault as the Sabres continue to struggle, and his mix of size and skill is still attractive to other teams. The Bruins are already keeping David Pastrnak around, but they like Stewart's versatility and his playing style is similar to Milan Lucic's. Stewart's fantasy value gets a huge boost if he moves to Boston, but the Sabres' asking price will be quite high with the team still undergoing a re-build.

Tyler Johnson
Lightning's Johnson A Practice Participant
Tyler Johnson, C, TB
11:55 AM
News: Tyler Johnson (lower body) was on the ice for Monday's practice, NHL.com's Bryan Burns reports.
Analysis: Per the report, Tyler Johnson didn't appear to be slowed by the lower-body injury that kept him out of the NHL All-Star Game, which bodes well for the forward's chances of suiting up Tuesday against the Hurricanes.

Stu Bickel
Wild Recall Bickel
Stu Bickel, D, MIN
11:46 AM
News: The Wild have recalled Stu Bickel, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: Stu Bickel -- who has one assist and 46 PIM (including 39 on Jan. 3) in nine NHL games to date -- gives the Wild an extra blueliner to have on hand for the team's upcoming Western road trip.

Kevin Bieksa
Canucks' Bieksa Out 6-8 Weeks
Kevin Bieksa, D, VAN
10:58 AM
News: Kevin Bieksa is expected to miss 6-8 weeks following hand surgery, Sportsnet's Dan Murphy reports.
Analysis: Per The Province, Kevin Bieksa -- who absorbed a Victor Hedman shot this past Tuesday -- required surgery to repair several fractures in his broken left hand and will thus miss a significant chunk of time.

Jyrki Jokipakka
Jokipakka Recalled By Stars
Jyrki Jokipakka, D, DAL
10:46 AM
News: The Stars have recalled Jyrki Jokipakka from AHL Texas, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: As was fellow blueliner Jamie Oleksiak, which gives the Stars some added blue line depth after the NHL All-Star break, with Trevor Daley dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Jamie Oleksiak
Stars Recall Oleksiak
Jamie Oleksiak, D, DAL
10:41 AM
News: The Stars have recalled Jamie Oleksiak from AHL Texas, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Jamie Oleksiak, who has notched eight points in 31 games with Dallas to date, returns to the big club after a brief AHL stint during the NHL All-Star break.
